Dill 
Claude Wilburn Dill, 91, formerly of Piedmont, S.C., died September 30, 2000, at the Brian Convalescent Center in Canton. 
He was retired from J.P. Stevens & Company, a member of Faith Pentecostal Holiness Church in Piedmont, the Men's Bible Class and the Saint Alive Senior Citizens Choir. 
A graveside service was held Oct. 2 at Greenville Memorial Gardens in Greenville, S.C. 
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: Roger and Laura Dill of Waleska; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. 

Carlile 
James W. Carlile, 69, of Centre, Ala., died September 30, 2000. 
He was a truck driver and of the Baptist faith. 
Funeral services were held Oct. 2 at Arbor Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Jones officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. 
He is survived by his daughters: Linda Garner and Brenda Ingram, both of Centre and Rhonda Chadwick of Cedar Bluff, Ala.; brother: Leon Carlile of Tennessee; sister: Mary Patterson of Jasper, Ga.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. 

Holcombe 
Johnny Holcombe, 63, of Canton died September 30, 2000, at Northside Hospital-Cherokee. 
Funeral services were held Oct. 2 in the Huey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Lay officiating. Interment followed in Cherokee Memorial Park. 
He is survived by his son: Jeff Holcombe of Marietta, Ga.; daughter: Beth Cox of Woodstock; brothers: Bobby Holcombe of Snellville, Ga., and Johnny Ray Holcombe of Villa Rica, Ga., and one grandchild. 

Pettit 
Hubert Pettit, 88, of Woodstock died September 29, 2000. 
He was retired from Lockheed Aircraft and had been a member of Canton Golf Course for many years. 
Funeral services were held Oct. 3 in the Reece Memorial Chapel of Woodstock Funeral Home with Rev. Joey Dubois officiating. Interment followed in Cherokee Memorial Park. 
He is survived by his wife: Martha Clark Pettit of Woodstock; daughter: Maxine Pettit Bryant of Lisle, Ill.; son: Ray Howard Pettit of Northridge, Calif.; sisters: Gladys Payne of Jonesboro, Ga., Ruth McConnell of Marietta, Ga., and Faye Fowler of Decatur, Ga.; brother Whit Lester Pettit, Jr., of Vinnings, Ga., and five grandchildren. 

Caldwell 
Louise Pettit Caldwell, 82, of Auburndale, Ga., died September 30, 2000 at Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale. 
She was a native of Canton, a homemaker and of the Protestant faith. 
Funeral services were held Oct. 4 in the Reece Memorial Chapel of Woodstock Funeral Home. Interment followed in Mountain View Cemetery. 
She is survived by her daughters: Susan Williams of Auburndale and Janeane Bledsoe of Seneca, Mo.; brother: Whit Lester Pettit, Jr., of Vinnings, Ga.; Gladys Payne of Jonesboro, Ga., Ruth McConnell of Marietta, Ga., and Faye Fowler of Decatur, Ga.; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. 

Ballenger 
Larcenia Ballenger, 38, of Atlanta died September 30, 2000, in Dekalb County. 
Funeral services were held October 6 in the Huey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. L.R. Hickman officiating. Interment followed in Cool Springs Baptist Cemetery in Tate, Ga. 
She is survived by her sons: Steven Ballenger of Marietta, Ga., and Willie Mosley of Decatur, Ga.; daughter: Sheila Ballenger of Marietta; brothers: Paul Giddens of Anniston, Ala., and Harold Giddens of Atlanta. 

Nations 
Lloyd Nations of Canton died October 3, 2000, in Piedmont Hospital. 
Funeral services were held October 4 in the Huey Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends James McGaha and Joey Dubois officiating. Interment followed in the Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery. 
He is survived by his brother: George Nations and sisters: Docia Sams and Malinda Price, all of Canton. 

Doss 
Ozella Doss, 89, of Canton died October 4, 2000, at Northside Hospital-Cherokee. 
Funeral services were held October 6 in the Huey Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Nathan Brandon and Dick Griffith officiating. Interment followed in Cherokee Memorial Park. 
She is survived by her son: Hugh L. Doss of Largo, Fla.; daughters: Linda Lawson of Canton and Nancy D. McClure of Atlanta; brothers: Amos Wofford of Wilmington, N.C., Brooke Wofford of Atlanta and James Wofford of Tennessee; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. 

Layman 
Taylor Anne Layman, 1, the infant daughter of Sherry and Charles Layman of Woodstock, died October 4, 2000. 
Funeral services were held Oct. 8 in the Woodstock Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed in Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery in Marietta, Ga. 
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her brother: Blandon Stanton of Woodstock; grandfathers: Glenn Stanton of Marietta, Charles Layman of Florida and John Blankenship of Alpharetta, Ga.; grandmother: Theresa Nichols of Alpharetta; great-grandmothers: Marie Blankenship of Alpharetta, Mary Glaze and Linda Jo Smith, both of Marietta; great-grandfathers: Ken Blankenship of Alpharetta and Richard Warren of Jasper, Ga. 

Hames 
Helen P. Hames, 41, of Woodstock died Oct. 4, 2000. 
She was an office manager for Acsia Insurance Services in Kennesaw, Ga., and a member of Mountain View United Methodist Church. 
Funeral services were held Oct. 6 at Mountain View United Methodist Church with Reverends N. Franklin Long and Jim Haralson officiating. Interment followed in Cherokee Memorial Park. 
She is survived by her husband: Edward L. Hames of Woodstock; daughters: Sara Catherine and Nichole Elizabeth Hames, both of Woodstock; son: Mason Edward Hames of Woodstock; sister: Laura McCullough of Woodstock; brother: Grady Lee McCullough of Altamonte Springs, Fla.; parents: Grady and Pat McCullough of Woodstock.
