Brett, 87, died Tuesday, March 6, 2001. She was born in Chatham County, daughter of the late Aldridge J. and Lula Cowart Banks. She was a former schoolteacher and a homemaker. She was a member of Mount Gilead Baptist Church, former member of the Sandersville Garden Club and former Pink Lady at Memorial Hospital.

Survivors include her children Saralyn Brett Davis of Conyers, Thomas Jefferson Brett III of Sandersville and David Banks Brett of Monks Corner, S.C.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight in May and Smith Funeral Home, Sandersville.
 

James Brown
 

SANDERSVILLE - Services for James Benjamin Brown will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in First Church of the Nazarene with burial in Zeta Cemetery. Brown, 82, died Monday, March 5, 2001. The son of the late Hugh and Betsy Brown, he was a Navy veteran of World War II and was a retired weaver. The widower of Bonnie Brown, he attended First Church of the Nazarene.

Survivors include his children Tina Brown and Shaler Brown, both of Sandersville, and Dennis Brown of MIlledgeville; sister Ruby Baxter of Waynesville, N.C.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

GORDON - Services for Willie C. Burney will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Spring Hill CME Church with burial in Asbury Church Road Cemetery. Burney, 70, died Saturday, March 3, 2001. An Army veteran, he was a truck driver in Newark, N.J.

Survivors include his brother Jimmy Lee Burney of Severna, Md.

MONTICELLO - Services for David Byron will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Springfield Baptist Church with burial in Southview-Cemetery. Byron, 72, died Sunday, March 4, 2001. He was born in Jasper County, son of the late Lessie Card and Isaac Byron. Educated in Jasper County schools, he graduated from Carver Vocational School in Atlanta. He was an Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Eula Byron; children Lauren B. White of Flint, Mich., David Greg Byron of Monticello and Stanley Byron of Fayetteville, N.C.; sisters and brothers Annie Lee Byron of Monticello, Cathy Byron, Phillip Byron, Daniel Byron and Lisa Byron, all of Covington; and seven grandchildren.

PEKIN, Ill. - Services for Connie B. Casper will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin. Additional services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in New Liberty Methodist Church, Clarksville, with burial in New Liberty Methodist Church Cemetery. Casper, 81, died Monday, March 5, 2001. She attended Congregational United Church of Christ in Pekin.

Survivors include her nieces Susan Kyle of Pekin, Reba McEldowny of Macon, Sharon Thurmes of Stillwater, Minn., Faye Owens of Burnsville, N.C., and Diane Griffin of Naperville, Ill.

HAZLEHURST - Services for Eunice Stokes Fussell will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Miles Funeral Home with burial in Palms Memorial Gardens. Fussell, 89, died Monday, March 5, 2001. The widow of J.B. Fussell, he was a member of Grace Baptist Church.

Survivors include his children Kathleen Brewer of Lumber City, Peggy Bracewell and Maynard Fussell, both of Baxley, Roger Fussell of Elkins, W.Va., and Jessie Fussell of Phoenix, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Services for Cleon Green will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Greater Rising Star Full Baptist Tabernacle. Green, 65, died Friday, March 2, 2001. She was born in Bibb County, daughter of the late Walter and Maggie Linton. She was a member of Greater Rising Star Full Baptist Tabernacle, where she served on the mother board.

Survivors include her children Trapanieal Green, Veronica Deshazier, Donald Green and Nathaniel Green, all of Macon; brother and sister Aldean Linton Sr. and Elouise Hunter, both of Macon; companion Charles Hodges; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her children Mullis Gordon of Warner Robins, Charles Gordon of Vienna, Harvey Gordon of Warner Robins and Goldie Holt of Lawton, Okla.; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren

THOMASTON - Services for Grace Stalnaker Holliman will be at 2 p.m. today in Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home with burial in South View Cemetery. Holliman, 82, died Sunday, March 4, 2001. She was retired from William Carter Co. after 28 years and worked at Belk's for several years. She was a member of East Thomaston Baptist Church, where she was a choir member, and was a member of Thurston Homemakers Club.

Survivors include her children Lisa Holliman Melton of Thomaston and Susan Holliman Fuller of Decatur; sister and brother Irene Benford of Savannah and Julian Stalnaker of Macon; and a granddaughter Renee Hempfleng.
 

Eugene Hubbard
 

Services for Eugene "Gene" Hubbard will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Pine Forest Baptist Church with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Hubbard, 68, died Monday, March 5, 2001, in a local hospital. He was a lifelong Macon resident, son of the late Peter Hubbard Sr. and Mamie Hubbard. Educated in Bibb County schools, he was self-employed and was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Malone Hubbard; children Ricky Hubbard of Milledgeville, Ronald Hubbard of Macon and Michael Hubbard of Musella; brother Jack D. Hubbard of Macon; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

FORSYTH - Services for Thomas Troy Ivey will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Monroe Hills Memorial Gardens. Ivey, 77, died Monday, March 5, 2001, at his residence. He was a produce manager, retired from Big Star. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of American Legion Post No. 34. He was a member of Second Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife Myrtice Newton Ivey; children Tommy Ivey of Forsyth and Barry Ivey of Monticello; sisters and brother Nettie McGaha, Frances Beals and Pat Johnson, all of Forsyth, and Curtis E. Ivey of Newnan; and three grandchildren.

REYNOLDS - Services for Bessie Moore McInvale will be at 4 p.m. today in Goddard Funeral Home, Reynolds, with burial in Mount Olive Cemetery. McInvale, 75, died Monday, March 5, 2001. Born in Telfair County, she was the retired co-owner of McInvale Grocery. The widow of Reginald McInvale, she was a member of Taylor Mill Baptist Church.

Survivors include her children Gary McInvale of Reynolds and Margie Hortman of Butler; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

PERRY - Services for John I. McRae will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Patrick's Catholic Church with burial in Andersonville National Cemetery. McRae, 67, died Monday, March 5, 2001, at his residence. He was retired from the Air Force, was a children's advocate for Rainbow House and coached young athletes for many years. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

Survivors include his children Michael J. McRae of Brunswick, Marilyn Bruggemeyer of Hendersonville, Nev., Steven Clark of Fallon, Nev., and Pamela Clark-Seewald of Grand Junction, Colo.; mother Alice R. McRae; sister Charlene Shea of Manchester, N.H.; and two grandchildren.

BONAIRE - Services for Jennie A. Millican will be private. Millican, 79, died Monday, March 5, 2001. She was a Baptist and a homemaker. She was the daughter of the late John and Anna Johnson. She was the widow of Elliott D. Millican.

Survivors include her son Joey Chrisman of Renton, Wash.; stepchildren E.D. Millican Jr. of Bainbridge Island, Wash., and Sidney Millican of Dothan, Ala.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

BUFORD - Services for Delores Perry "Dee" Randall will be at 1 p.m. today in Tapp Funeral Home with burial at 4 p.m. in Rose Hill Cemetery, Rockmart. Randall died Sunday, March 4, 2001. She was retired from BellSouth. A breast cancer crusader, she provided counseling to victims.

Survivors include her husband, Charles M. Randall Sr.; son Tarver B. Finney of Navarre, Fla.; mother Anne R. Perry of Macon; stepchildren Chuck Randall and Laura Randall of Duluth; and grandchildren Candis Finney and Benjamin Finney.

JEFFERSONVILLE - Services for Thomas Warren "Tommie" Rogers will be private. Rogers, 55, died Monday, March 5, 2001. The son of the late Frank W. and Mabel Rogers, he was a sheet metal specialist at an automotive body shop. He was the widower of Nancy Wendelmoot Rogers.

Survivors include his children Kirk Rogers of Byron, Brad Rogers of Warner Robins, Tami Kirk of Perry, Wayne Gunn of Brunswick and Doug Gunn of Anderson, Ind.; brothers and sisters Bobby Rogers of Jeffersonville, Brenda Kraft of Danville and Ginger Arnold of Rockmart; and 12 grandchildren.

A master gardener, she was a member of Master Gardeners of Georgia.

Survivors include her husband, Willis Rountree; children Steve Rountree of Hawkinsville and Todd Rountree of Warner Robins; sister Fansie Strickland of Warner Robins; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
