MONTEZUMA --- Services for C. D. Bogan will be at 2 p.m. Friday in New Hope Baptist Church, with burial in New Hope Cemetery. Bogan died Sunday, Dec. 26, 1999. He was born in Dooly County, was a retired farmer and a member of New Hope Baptist Church where he was a Deacon. He was the widower of Cora Mae Chapman Bogan. 

Survivors include his children, Bertha Singleton, Eva Mae Wiley, and Ernest Bogan all of Tampa, Fla., Sarah Bogan and George Bogan of Chicago, Ill., Tommy Bogan and Robert Bogan of Atlanta, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Robert Bowen

PERRY --- Services for Robert Howard Bowen will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Ronnie L. Stewart and Son Funeral Service Chapel in Vidalia with burial in Old Mount Zion Cemetery. Bowen, 74, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1999. He was born in Toombs County and had resided most of his life in Eastman and in Perry for the past four years. He was retired from Georgia Department of Transportation and was a Baptist by faith.

Survivors include his children, Robert Carl Bowen, Carlene Pierce, and Jeanelle Land, all of Perry; brothers, David Bowen and Ben Bowen, both of Lyons, and Winston Bowen of Yulee, Fla.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home, tonight from 7 to 9 p.m.

Willard Bryant

Services for Willard E. Bryant will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Chapel of Crest Lawn with burial in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Bryant, 93, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1999. He was born in Laurens County and had resided in Macon for the past fifty years. He was a retired Master Sergeant from the USAF, serving during the European and Pacific theater. He was a member of Mikado Baptist Church and Sunday School, the Golden Agers Program and AARP.

Survivors include his children, Jack W. Bryant and Marie Ballenbach both of Macon; sister, Vivian Kyte of Warner Robins; 9 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Mary Cottle

ELLAVILLE --- Services for Mary K. Cottle will be at 3 p.m. Friday in the New Corinth Baptist Church with burial in Union Hill A.M.E. Church Cemetery. Cottle, 92, died Sunday, Dec. 26, 1999. She was born in Schley County to the late Benjamin Aldridge and Ameldia Martin. She was the widow of the late Emmitt Cottle and a member of the New Corinth Baptist Church.

Survivors include her children, Mary Thomas of Albany, Leith Cottle of Hollandale, Fla., Leosbin Cottle of Kingtree, S.C.; a sister, Edrie Bell Bacote of Hartford, Conn.; three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Fronnie Daniels

THOMASTON --- Services for Fronnie Mae King Daniels will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Fellowship Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery. Daniels, 74, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1999. The daughter of the late Ezekiel and Pearlie Mae Walker King, she also was the widow of the late Henry Daniels. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church where she served on the Mother Board and sang in the choir.

Survivors include her daughters, Lucille Buffin of Thomaston and Bettye Fowler of Jacksonville, Fla.; brothers and sisters, The Rev. Otis King, Earlie King, Edward King, Cora Campbell, and Lucille Caldwell, all of Thomaston and Hattie Clark of Hollywood, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Clarence Dasher, Sr.

ROBERTA --- Services for Clarence Lee Dasher, Sr. will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Oaklawn Cemetery in Fort Valley. Dasher, 93, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1999. He was born in Houston County and retired from Robins AFB. He was a World War II Veteran and member of Roberta United Methodist Church and was the son of the late Solomon and Ellen Dasher.

Survivors include his children, Nita D. Walker of Roberta and Beth D. Greene of Gray; a sister, Helen High of Whiteville, N.C.; and six grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 5 to 7 p.m. at Rooks Funeral Home in Fort Valley.

Martha Davis

ROBERTA --- Services for Martha Carolyn Causey Davis will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Roberta City Cemetery. Davis, 52, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1999. She was born in Bibb County and had lived in Crawford County for 15 years. She was a former active member of the Macon Rescue Mission and a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Bennie W. Davis, Sr.; children, R. David Muloy, Jr., and Regina M. Mills, both of Macon; brothers, Steve Causey of N.C., Blake Causey of Macon, and Dennis Causey of N.Y.; and one grandchild.

Johnny Dunn Sr.

Services for Johnny L. Dunn Sr. will be at 11 a.m. Friday, in Kings Chapel Baptist Church in Jones County with burial in Middle Georgia Memory Gardens. Dunn, 72, died Monday, Dec. 27, 1999. He was born in Putnam County, the son of the late Johnnie B. Delaney and Emma Green. He was a member of the Kings Chapel Baptist Church and a member of Citizens on Patrol. He worked at the Boys Club of America and was retired from the Coliseum Hospital.

Survivors include his companion, Mary James of Macon; children, Alonzo Dunn of Crawford County, Larry Evans of Atlanta, Johnny L. Dunn Jr., Charles Riley, Marion Louise Womble, Martha Carter, Callie Tharpe, all of Macon; his stepmother, Minnie Delaney of Atlanta; stepdaughters, Lisa Pierce of Stone Mountain and Gesila James of Macon; stepson, Maurice James of Macon.

Hazel Harris

Services for Hazel J. Harris will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Jones Brothers Eastlawn Memorial Chapel with burial in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Harris, 48, died Sunday, Dec. 26, 1999. She was born in Miami, Fla., the daughter of the late Wade D. and Mary Fullmore Martin. She was educated in the Dade County Public School System in Miami. A Macon resident for more than 25 years, she was a retired employee from the Bibb County Public School System and the Georgia Academy for the Blind in Macon. She was a member of Deliverance House of Prayer for all People Church in Macon.

Survivors include her children, Lorin Harris of Ann Arbor, Mich., and Keilah Harris of Macon; sisters and brothers, Lula Jackson of Macon, and Ruby Martin of Miami, Fla., Wade D. Martin, Jr. of Miami, Fla., Roger L. Martin, Michael Martin and Jerry Martin all of Macon, George Martin and Ray Martin both of San Bernadino, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

Ben Hill

ASHBURN --- Services for Ben Hill will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Ashburn First Baptist Church with burial in Snowridge Cemetery. Hill, 75, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1999. He was born in Randolph County, Ala., the son of the late Charles W. and Grace Ann Chaffin Hill. He was retired and was a member of Ashburn First Baptist Church, the Gilbert Branch Sunday School Class, Brotherhood, he was a Mason and Shriner. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Polly Paulk Hill; children, Larry W. Hill of Leesburg, Russell B. Hill of Tifton, J. Gary Hill of Thomasville, John Edge and Harold Edge, both of Ashburn; brothers and sisters, H. O. Hill of Tifton and G. Owen Hill of Dunedin, Fla., Ruth Ciraldo of Atlanta, Mary Short of Ocilla, Rebecca Stone of Fitzgerald, and Myra Hugging of Eastman; seven grandchildren.

Janice Hinds

Services for Janice Whisenant Hinds will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Collier-Butler Chapel in Gadsden, Ala., with burial in Kyuka Cemetery. Hinds, 45, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1999. She was a graduate of Gadsden High School and received her B.S. and M.A. in education from Jacksonville State University. She was a member of the Church of the Wildwood.

Survivors include her husband, William Lasseter "Bill" Hinds; children, Benjamin Lasseter Hinds, Lindsey Marie Hinds, step-daughter, Joan Elizabeth Davis; mother, Joan T. Whisenant.

PERRY --- Services for Adrion Marquez "Bull" Johnson will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Martha Ann Baptist Church with burial in Rest Haven Cemetery. Johnson, 18, died Sunday, Dec. 26, 1999. He was born in Houston County, was a member of Martha Ann Baptist Church and Lodge No. 276. He attended school in Houston County then moved to Riviera Beach, Fla. where he attended Wyham Tdyer High School, he was a member of the Gainesville, Fla. Job Corp.

Survivors include his mother and step father, Diane Johnson and David Clemons, both of Riviera Beach, Fla., father, Fredrick L. Marshall, of Riviera Beach, Fla.; brothers and sister, Daniel L. Services for Emmie Greene King will be 2 p.m. Friday in Riverside Cemetery. King, 84, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1999. A member of Ingleside Baptist Church and Winmore Sunday School Class, she was educated in Jones County.

THOMSON --- Services for Chris Lamble will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Beggs Funeral Home, in Thomson, with burial in Irwinville City Cemetery at 3:30 p.m. Lamble, 78, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1999. He was born in Evansville, Ind., and was a retired electronics repairman.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Louise Lamble; children, Stanley Joe Lamble of Riverview, Fla., Tony D. Lamble of Tinley Park, Ill., Andrew Lee Lamble, Peru, Ind., Sue Hancock of Irwinville, Dena J. Gerkitz of Thomson; 19 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was born in Turner County, the daughter of the late William Homer and Mary Katherine Cook Law. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Ashburn, and the widow of J. T. McLendon and retired owner and operator of the MiLady's Shoppe.

Survivors include daughter, Mary Katherine Milan of Ocala, Fla., two grandsons, and three great-grandchildren.

Shirley Neighbours

CORDELE --- Services for Shirley Ann Blackwell Neighbours will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Cedar Creek Cemetery. Neighbours, 50, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1999. She was born in Worth County and was the daughter of the late William Virgil and Janie Lou Hayslip Blackwell, and the widow of Johnny Carl Neighbours. She was a retired inspector with Ace Pecan Company.

She was born in Dooly County and had lived in Crawford County since 1980. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Macon County and a homemaker.

Jean Ozbirn

FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. --- Services for Jean Rackley Ozbirn will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Chapel of Watson-Hunt Funeral Home in Perry with burial in Perry Memorial Gardens. Ozbirn, 69, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1999. She was born in Kathleen, and had resided in Fort Walton Beach for 30 years. She was a hostess at Picadilly's and a Baptist.

Survivors include her children, Ramona Arrington of Perry, Ronnie Ozbirn of Orland, Fla., brothers and sisters, John Rackley of Perry, Lois Bennett of Jacksonville, Fla., M.L. Rackley, Jr., Wayne Rackley and Rose Ellis, all of Warner Robins, Mildred Howard and Evelyn Faulkner of Thomaston and four grandchildren.

Chelsea Powell

Services for Chelsea Nicole Powell, infant daughter of Brandy White and Brian Powell will be at 4 p.m. today in Thomas Family Cemetery. Powell died Monday, Dec. 27, 1999.

HAZLEHURST --- Services for Alton Hugh Simpson will be at 3 p.m. today in the Chapel of Wainwright-Parlor Funeral Home with burial in the Dead River Cemetery in Montgomery County. Simpson, 63, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1999. He was born in Montgomery County and had resided in Jeff Davis County for the past 36 years. He was of the Methodist faith, was a retired forest consultant formerly employed with Cook and Company of Hazlehurst, and was the son of the late Grady and Eudelle Conner Simpson.

Survivors include his wife, Jackie Stokes Simpson; children, Grady Simpson and Chuck Simpson both of Uvalda, and Danny Simpson of Hazlehurst; brothers, Gene Simpson of Uvalda, Dan Simpson of Hazlehurst, and Wayne Simpson of Waycross; and Four grandchildren.

Elmo Stewart, Jr.

MCRAE --- Services for Elmo Stewart, Jr. will be at 11 a.m. Friday in New Shiloh Baptist Church with burial in Pine Acre Cemetery. Stewart, 66, died Friday, Dec. 24, 1999. He was born in Telfair County, was the son of the late Elmo Stewart, Sr. and Jenny Batten Stewart.

Survivors include his children, Melody Watson of McRae, step-children, Winnie Fletcher and Bennie Watson of McRae; brothers and sisters, Horace Williams of McRae and Edgar Stewart, Sr., of Atlanta, Esther Avera of McRae and Lou Ethel Scales of Buffalo, N.Y.; and two grandchildren.

C.L. Strange, Sr.

SWAINSBORO --- Services for C. L. Strange, Sr. will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Chapel of Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary with burial in Swainsboro City Cemetery. Strange, 77, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1999. He was born in Emanuel County, was a retired painter and owner of Strange Cars. He was a member of the Swainsboro Chamber of Commerce, the National and Georgia Independent Auto Dealers and a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Pat Hudson Strange; children, Mary Williford and Billie Johnson, both of Twin City, C.L. "Chan" Strange, Jr. of Summertown, and Raymond Strange of Swainsboro; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

PINEHURST --- Services for Sarah Bolden Thomas will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Pleasant Valley Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Bolden, 41, died Sunday, Dec. 26, 1999. She was born in Dooly County, was the daughter of the late Clyde Bolden, Jr., a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church were she served on the Senior Usher Board and as church custodian. She was employed with the Allstate Truck Stop.

Survivors include her husband, Artis Thomas of Albany; companion, John Cross of Pinehurst; parents, Gladys Bolden of Pinehurst; brothers and sisters, Royce Bolden and Kerry Bolden of Vienna, Ronnie Bolden and Randy Bolden of Pinehurst, Sharon Seay and Beverly Bolden of Pinehurst, Sandy Daniels of Byromville, and Stacey Hicks of Vienna.

Martha Thompson

Services for Martha Ramsey Thompson will be at 4 p.m. today in Riverside Cemetery, main gate entrance. Thompson, 89, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1999. She was born in Walnut, S.C. and was the daughter of the late Robert R. and Eloise Hardwicke Ramsey. She attended Martha Bowman United Methodist Church, graduated from Asheville Normal College and was the first female to be accepted to Vanderbilt Law School. She taught first grade in the Bibb County School System and was the widow of Eugene M. Thompson.

Survivors include her daughter, Alice Thompson Brown of Macon, grandchildren, Catherine Rodrique, Lattie Brown, Hunt Brown, Parke Brown, Meredith Brown and Mitchell Brown, and three great-grandchildren.

MCRAE --- Services for Maxine Tucker will be at 2 p.m. Friday in The Religious Center, McRae, with burial in Green Grove Cemetery, Lumber City. Tucker, 43, died Friday, Dec. 24, 1999. She was born in Telfair County, was the daughter of the late Jerry Finch and Mary Lee Tucker. She attended schools in Telfair County and received a degree in Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation from Gracewood Technical School and was a member of Sandhill Baptist Church.

Survivors include her brothers and sisters, Thomas Wooten, Jasper Finch, Jimmy Tucker and Jerry Tucker, all of McRae, Lucille Blue of Jacksonville, Fla., and Iris Daniel of Waynesboro.

Ernest White Sr.

FORT VALLEY --- Services for Ernest White Sr. will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the Usher's Temple CME Church with burial in Willow Lake Memorial Garden. White, 75, died Monday, Dec. 27, 1999. He was a steward and member of Usher's Temple CME Church and a past ward captain. He was retired from Robins AFB, and a member of Masonic Lodge No. 134 and the American Legion Post No. 268.

Survivors include his wife, Mattie W. White; children, Ernest White Jr., William White, Kelvin White and Wendell White, all of Atlanta, Leonard White of Warner Robins, Anthony Robinson of Brunswick, Fredrick Waller of Reynolds, Debra Allen and Yvonne Hayes, both of Montezuma, Beverlyn Mathis of Reynolds, Valerie Waller of Fort Valley; sister and brothers, Alberta Williams of Fort Valley, Holsey James White of Fort Valley, Walter Smith of Cleveland, Ohio; 31 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren. The body will lie in state from 12 p.m. Thursday until 11 a.m. Friday in C. J. Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Valley.

DUBLIN --- Services for Hazel Wilkes will be at 2 p.m. today in the Blue Springs Cemetery. Wilkes, 83, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1999. She was born in Laurens County and was the daughter of the late Pas and Jeannie Thigpen Wilkes. She was married to the late Owen Wilkes, was a homemaker and a member of the Blue Springs Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son, Gordon Wilkes of East Dublin, step-sister, Audie Fulford of Rockledge; three grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Sammons Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

FITZGERALD --- Services for Kristy Murray Young will be at 4 p.m. Friday in Ashburn First Baptist Church with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Young, 29, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1999. She was born in Crisp County. She was a longtime resident of Ashburn before moving to Fitzgerald recently. She was a housewife and a member of Morningside Baptist Church in Ashburn.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth W. Young; parents, Allen and Marsha H. Murray of Ashburn; brother and sister, Chad Allen Murray and Karen M. Wynn both of Ashburn.
