EASTMAN - Services for W.A. "Pap" Carr Sr. will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Pine Hill Christian Church, Cadwell, with burial in the church cemetery. Carr, 64, died Friday, Jan. 5, 2001. He was born in Laurens County, son of the late W.B. Carr and Bertha Mae Carr. He was the widower of Laura Mae Carr. He was a member of Pine Hill Christian Church and was a farmer.

Survivors include his children J.B. Carr of Chauncey, Joann K. Carr, W.A. Carr Jr., Wilbur Larry Carr, Margaret A. Carr, Chris Carr, Shirley A. Meminger and Clinton B. Carr, all of Eastman; brothers David Carr of Atlanta and Elbert Carr of Eastman; 19 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

The family will be at the W.A. Carr Jr. residence on Isham Springs Road, Eastman. The body will be in the church at 1 p.m. Rollins Funeral Home has charge of arrangements. 
 

Heidi Copeland 
 

PERRY - Services for Heidi Johannan Copeland will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Perry Memorial Gardens. Copeland, 38, died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2001. Born in Islip County, N.Y., she had lived in Perry for nine years, moving from Monticello, Fla. She was a member of Henderson Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, James Copeland; children Brittany N. Copeland, Jamie L. Copeland and James C. Copeland Jr., all of Perry, and Billy Pruitt of Maryland; parents John and Maryland VanGinhoven of Princess Anne, Md.; and sister Lisa Hall of Princess Anne.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 tonight in Watson-Hunt Funeral Home.
 

Andriel Gaddis 
 

PERRY - Services for Andriel Lauren "Andi" Gaddis will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Gaddis, 17, died Monday, Jan. 8, 2001. Born in Bibb County, she was a student at Perry High School and was a former student at Baldwin County High School and also Peach County High School.

Survivors include her mother, Myra J. Miles of Perry; father, Donald R. Gaddis of Dublin; brother Donald Ray Gaddis Jr. of Milledgeville; and grandparents George and Barbara Miles, and Ruby Gaddis, all of Dublin.

Charlotte Gifford 
 

Services for Charlotte R. Gifford will be private. Gifford died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2001. She graduated from Shorter College and was a member of Christ Church, where she was a volunteer in Meals on Wheels. She participated with the Pink Ladies.

Survivors include her son William David Gifford of Macon; and grandchildren Christopher K. Gifford, John David Gifford and Joseph H. Gifford, all of Macon.

Clint Green 
 

MILAN - Services for Clint Green will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Vaughn Funeral Home, McRae, with burial in Anderson Cemetery, Collins. Green, 31, died Monday, Jan. 8, 2001. He was born in Candler County, son of the late Cecil W. Green. He worked in commercial construction and was a member of Sanctuary of Dublin.

Survivors include his wife, Melanie Green; mother and stepfather Margaret and L.H. Pinckard of Milan; brothers and sisters Randy Green, Janet Yawn, Wayne Green and Jeanette Couey, all of McRae, Cecilia Hart of Eastman, Vonnie Spires of Chauncey and Sherry Stewart of Sparta, Tenn.

ELLAVILLE - Services for Brenda Marie Trawick Greene will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Watson-Giddens Funeral Home with burial in the family cemetery. Greene, 55, died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2001. She was the office manager of Pyramid Products and was a Baptist.

Survivors include her husband, Phil Merrell; children Melissa Mathis of Columbus, Traci Tadlock of Panama City, Fla., and Todd Greene of Opelika, Ala.; brothers and sister Jerome Trawick and Donna Shirley, both of Eufaula, Ala., and Tony Trawick of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; and five grandchildren.

Kenny Grogan 
 

MONTEZUMA - Memorial services for Kenny Grogan will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Montezuma Methodist Church. Grogan, 59, died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2001. He was born in Macon County, son of the late James and Elizabeth Grogan. He was a member of Montezuma Methodist Church and the Spares and Pairs Sunday School Class. He also was a member of Montezuma Jaycees.

Survivors include his brother and sisters George Grogan, Carolyn Davis and JoAnn Baxter, all of Birmingham, Ala.

Katherine Heard 
 

Services for Katherine Helen Heard will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Vineville Baptist Church. Burial will be private. Heard, 53, died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2001. Born in Macon, she attended Marc Workshop and Star Choices. She was a member of the Young Adult Club of the Bibb County Recreation Department and participated in the Special Olympics. She attended Vineville Baptist Church.

Survivors include her parents, Helen and Charles Heard of Macon; and sister and brothers Lane Heard Carroll and Dr. Lindsey V. Heard, both of Macon, and Dr. Charles W. Heard of Orlando, Fla.

WRIGHTSVILLE - Services for Willie C. Hines were Monday in Buckeye Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Hines, 62, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001. He was a member of Buckeye Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Rosa Hines; children Dewayne Hines of California, Donna Davis of Virginia and Jackey Causey of Dublin; stepchildren Christopher Dunn of Virginia, Kenneth Dunn and Valerie Cannon of Wrightsville; brothers and sisters Welmer Hines of Philadelphia, James Hines, Charlene Wells and Betty Bennett, all of Wrightsville, Beatrice Williams and Irene Sutton, both of Miami; and six grandchildren.

Harvey Huckaby 
 

MONTEZUMA - Services for Harvey Lee Huckaby will be at 2 p.m. today in Byromville Baptist Church with burial in Swearingin Cemetery. Huckaby died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2001. The son of the late C.L. and Mamie Huckaby, he was the oldest member of Byromville Baptist Church. The widower of Fannie Huckaby, he was a member of Woodmen of the World.

Survivors include his children Thelma Avera of Montezuma, Mary Peavy of LaGrange; sisters and brother Julia Baggett and J.C. Huckaby, both of Byromville, and Virginia Ray of Warner Robins; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Martha Hudson 
 

DAVISBORO - Services for Martha L. Hudson will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Hudson died Monday, Jan. 8, 2001. She was retired from Atlantic Cotton Mill after 25 years. She was a member of Grace and Truth Baptist Church.

Survivors include her children June Raffield of Fitzgerald, Bill Taylor of Davisboro, Grace Smith of North Carolina, George Taylor of Macon and Jimmy Hudson of Fruitland Park, Fla.; brothers and sister John H. Whitten of Douglas, David Whitten and James Whitten, both of Augusta, and Ollie Wells of South Carolina; 22 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Ora Johnson 
 

ROBERTA - Services for Ora Simmons Johnson will be at noon Wednesday in Hicks and Sons Funeral Home with burial in Hicks Cemetery, Musella. Johnson, 87, died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001, in a local hospital. She was born in Crawford County, daughter of the late Jerry and Sarah Respress Simmons. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her son Thomas Wayne Johnson of Atlanta; and two grandchildren.

Philip McRae 
 

Services for Philip Carlile McRae will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Woodbury Methodist Church with burial in Woodbury City Cemetery. McRae, 51, died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2001. A machinist, he was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his daughter Yvette Harris of Macon; mother Sue Peeler of Macon; sister Sue Beaver of Statesboro; and a grandchild.

The family will be at the church family life center at 11 a.m. until the hour of services. Smith-Steele-Meadows Funeral Homes in Woodbury has charge of arrangements. 
 

Laurie Moncrief 
 

Services for Laurie Elizabeth Sanders Moncrief will be at 3 p.m. today in Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial in Macon Memorial Park. Moncrief, 19, died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2001. A lifelong resident of Macon and Crawford County, she was a member of Bloomfield United Pentecostal Church and attended the cerebral palsy academy in Macon.

Survivors include her parents, James Sanders of Milledgeville and Sarah Moncrief of Byron; sister Mary Elizabeth Sanders of Milledgeville; grandparents, Angus and Ommie Moncrief of Lizella, and Betty and John Houck of Milledgeville; and great-grandparents, E.C. Wilkerson of Macon, Ann Sanders of Tucson, Ariz., and Mae Gray of Milledgeville.

Carlton NeSmith 
 

COCHRAN - Services for Carlton H. "Don" NeSmith will be at 2 p.m. today in Mathis Funeral Home with burial in Buckhorn United Methodist Church Cemetery, Laurens County. NeSmith, 61, died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2001, at his residence. He was born in Upson County, son of the late Johnny and Mattie Mae H. NeSmith. He was a 1958 graduate of Dexter High School, was a Georgia National Guard veteran and was a supervisor at Jac-Arts Label Factory. He was a member of Buckhorn United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Joan NeSmith; children Donna Blackwell of Cadwell, Ginger Johnson of Eastman, Anne Brown of Jeffersonville, and Gene NeSmith and Jeff NeSmith, both of Eastman; stepchildren Lorie Towson of Dublin and Tim Payne of Cochran; brother and sisters Earl NeSmith of Dexter, Peggy Taylor of Rentz and Glenda Cohen of Tennessee; nine grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.

UVALDA - Services for Mattie Lou Sharpe will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Ronnie L. Stewart Family Funeral Service, Vidalia, with burial in Sharpe Cemetery. Sharpe, 98, died Monday, Jan. 8, 2001. She was a retired teacher, a homemaker and member of Rock Spring Holiness Baptist Church.

Survivors include her children Sue W. Morris of Augusta and Jelks Sharpe of Cedar Crossing; sister and brother Maggie Brumbeloe of Thomaston and Lupo Webb of Edgewater, Fla.; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Mary Sorrell 
 

Services for Mary Josephine Keller Sorrell will be private. Sorrell, 95, died Friday, Jan. 5, 2001. The widow of Earl Graham Sorrell, she had lived in Macon for the past 60 years. She was a member of Church of Christ, attended Auburn University and was a homemaker.

Survivors include her children Mary Sorrell Draper of Bonaire and Gwendolyn Sorrell Sell of Macon; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Annie Stallings 
 

Services for Annie "Gertrude" Stallings will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Snow's Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue, with burial in Macon Memorial Park. Stallings, 96, died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2001. She was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church, past teacher and president of Jennie Waldron Sunday School Class and C.O.D. She was a member of Westside Homemakers Club and the Bibb County Homemakers Council. She was a member of Bloomfield Community Club, past president of Macon Chapter 345 OES, worth matron of the Matron and Patron Club of OES. She was the widow of Willie Lee Stallings.

Survivors include her children Jessie Morgan Stallings and Johnny Owen Stallings, both of Jackson; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

BARNESVILLE - Services for Audrey Lee Sutton will be at 2 p.m. today in Haisten-Martin Funeral Home with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Sutton, 76, died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2001. 

Survivors include her husband, David Sutton; children Joan Allen of Griffin and Brenda Sweat of Barnesville; brother and sisters Roy Smith of Brownsville, Fla., Mazine Willis and Louis Buice, both of Griffin, Mary Crews of Jonesboro, Mildred Pollard of Barnesville and Martha Hambrick of Thomaston; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
 

Warren Teets 
 

Services for Warren Leroy Teets will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Macon Memorial Park. Teets, 77, died Monday, Jan. 8, 2001. He was a prisoner of war for several months in Germany and worked at Robins Air Force Base in quality control of the electronics division. He was former president of the Eagles, first president of Oak Haven Golf Association and member of the former POWs and Tabernacle Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Olene Sara Williams Teets; and son Warren Benjamin Teets of Newburg, Md.

GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP, N.J. - Services for Charles R. "Chuck" Tidwell Jr. were Saturday in Absecon Presbyterian Church, Absecon, N.J. Burial was private. Tidwell, 45, died Monday, Jan. 1, 2001. He worked for Peter Lumber in construction in Pleasantville, N.J.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy G. Tidwell; son Brian Gras of Galloway, N.J.; mother and stepfather Pat and Davis Morris of Mays Landing, N.J.; father and stepmother Charles and Jane Tidwell Sr. of Lizella; sister and brothers Terrie Doernbach of Galloway Township, Charles Tidwell III and Terry Tidwell, both of Lizella, and Tim Tidwell of Macon.

Tootle, both of Lyons, and JoAnn King of Vidalia; sisters and brothers Alma Miller of Vidalia, Ester Stephens and Conealious Joyner, both of Lyons, Bill Joyner of Kingsland, Lester Joiner of Folkston and Albert Joyner of Waycross; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A homemaker, she was a member of Musella Baptist Church. She was a member of Crawford County Homemakers Club, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Unit 76, Crawford County Historical Society and UDC Chapter No. 2562. 

Survivors include her husband, James T. Varnadoe; children Elaine V. Westberry of Roberta and Lynn V. Johnson of Charlotte, N.C.; brother and sister E.T. Pressley Jr. of Roberta and Bessie Wiggins of Decatur; and a grandchild.

Service for Effie D. Williams will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church with burial in Saints Rest Cemetery. Williams, 97, died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2001. She was born in Bibb County, daughter of the late Joe and Sallie Porter Dudley. The widow of W.J. Williams, she was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her foster children Jerald Comer of Philadelphia and Aletha Jackson of Macon; and foster sister Lilla Potter of Macon.

The daughter of the late Lavater and Kathleen M. Rozier, she was 1977 graduate of Bleckley County High School and a homemaker. She was a member of Ruth Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, James P. Willis; son Mark Douglas Collins of Cochran; and brother and sisters W.L. Rozier, Catherine Cardwell and Patsy Floyd, all of Cochran.
