Services for Carl B. Adkins will be at 2 p.m. today in Crest Lawn Funeral Home with burial in Macon Memorial Park. Adkins, 84, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000, at his residence. Born in Chester County, S.C., he had lived in Macon most of his life. He was retired from the Georgia Power Co. and was a Methodist. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
Survivors include his children Wayne Adkins, Sherry Chapman and Lisa Robinson, both of Macon; sister Merle Sewell of Columbus; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Jimmie Blocker
VIDALIA -- Services for Jimmie Durden Blocker will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Sammons Funeral Home, with burial in Mount Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery, Montgomery County. Blocker, 85, died Monday, Jan. 1, 2001. Born in Treutlen County, she was the daughter of the late Harrison and Priscilla Durden. The widow of T.A. Blocker, she was retired co-owner and operator of T.A. Blocker's General Store.

Survivors include her son Gary Blocker of Vidalia; grandchildren Jackie Rowe and Angie McKie, both of Vidalia; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight in the funeral home.
 

Angelia Cadwell
BONAIRE -- Services for Angelia S. Cadwell will be at 2 p.m. today in Plainfield Baptist Church, with burial in the church cemetery. Cadwell, 46, died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000. Born in Eastman, she was the daughter of the late Max L. Cadwell. She was on the swim team at the International Special Olympics at Notre Dame University in 1987, where she won a gold medal and a silver medal. She was a Baptist.

Survivors include her mother, Alva Jean Updegraff of Bonaire; stepfather William Updegraff of Bonaire; and brother Derrick Cadwell of Warner Robins.

Otis Campbell 
CORDELE -- Services for Otis Lee "Pepper" Campbell will be at 1 p.m. today in Mount Calvary Baptist Church, with burial in Westview Cemetery. Campbell, 60, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000. He was retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation and was a cement finisher. He was a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his sister Johnnie Mae Scott of Trenton, N.J.; and stepdaughter Lois Floyd.

W.R. Clifford
FITZGERALD -- Services for W.R. "Bill" Clifford will be at 4 p.m. today in Paulk Funeral Home with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Clifford, 94, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000. He was a terminal manager, retired from Weston Trucking Co. in Nashville, Tenn. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and was a member of McIntosh Baptist Church.
 

Alice Coleman
VIDALIA -- Services for Alice McCorkle Coleman will be at 11 a.m. today in Lyons City Cemetery. Coleman, 99, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000. She was a homemaker and member of Vidalia Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include her children Moses M. Coleman Jr. of Vidalia and Dan Coleman of Lyons; grandchildren Moses Coleman III, Kathleen Coleman, Steven Coleman, Beverly Coleman and Larry Coleman; 11 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Irene Desmond
FLORENCE, S.C. -- Services for Irene Jones Higgs Desmond will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Yates Funeral Home, Fort Pierce, Fla., with burial in Riverview Memorial Cemetery. Desmond, 87, died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000. The daughter of the late Emmett and Lula Jones, she was retired from the Fort Pierce Utilities Authority. She was a member of First Christian Church in Fort Pierce, the Noble-ettes, Daughters of the Nile, the Zuliema Club, the Elkettes and the Lawnwood Medical Center Auxiliary. She was the widow of Wallace Higgs and Patrick Desmond.

Survivors include her children Emery Higgs of Florence and Wallace Higgs of Houston, Texas; brother and sisters Ronald Jones of Clarkesville, Wilmoth Thompson of Warner Robins and Joyce Bowen of Macon; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Cornelia Edge
SOPERTON -- Services for Cornelia W. Edge will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Johnson Chapel Holiness Church of God, Treutlen County, with burial in the church cemetery. Edge, 83, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000. The daughter of the late William and Sally Whitaker, she was a seamstress, retired from Soperton Manufacturing Co. She was a member of Johnson Chapel Holiness Church of God.

Survivors include her children Madeline Earnest of Timberlake, N.C., and Annette Tiller of Englewood, Fla.; brother and sister Carlton Whitaker of Haynes City, Fla., and Doris Pratt of Farmington, Mo.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Lillie Edwards
Services for Lillie Bell Edwards will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Mount Salem Baptist Church, Gray, with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. Edwards, 60, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000. Born in Jones County, she was the daughter of the late Clark Edwards. She was a domestic worker for the Womack family.

Survivors include her daughter Sandra Edwards of Macon; mother Larneal Clark of Jones County; brothers and sister Otis Edwards and William Shelton Jr., both of Macon, Walter Edwards of California and Beulah Bell of Gray; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in Bentley & Sons Funeral Home and may be contacted at 330 Jones Ave. The body will be in the church at 2 p.m.
 

Lillian Fountain
VIDALIA -- Services for Lillian Irene Powell Fountain will be at 2 p.m. today in Murchison Funeral Home, with burial in Reidsville City Cemetery. Fountain died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000. She was a homemaker and attended Marietta Freewill Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Roy Lee Fountain; children Connie Harrelson and Michael Harrelson, both of Lyons, and Loree G. Colson of Vidalia; sisters and brothers Evelle Lewis of Reidsville, Alma Morris of Savannah, Virginia Shaffer of Cotopaxi, Colo., Ethel Clifton and Henry Powell Jr., both of Lyons, and Buddy Powell of Pembroke; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
 

Brandon Howard
Services for Brandon Howard, infant son of Ketia Mims and Reginald Howard, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Brandon died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000.

Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his brother Quanterius Howard of Macon; grandparents Benjamin Mims, Agnes Mims and Randy Green, all of Macon; great-grandparents Louella Warlock of Detroit, and Homer Green and Maylina Green, both of Macon; and stepgreat-grandfather Howard Warlock of Detroit.

Duke Marshall
WARNER ROBINS -- Services for Duke Marshall will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Marshall, 60, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000. The son of the late Jack and Ruth Marshall, he was retired from the civil service at Robins Air Force Base. He was a Mason and member of Tyrian Lodge No. 111 F&AM.

Survivors include his children Jim Marshall of Washington, D.C., and Ronnie Marshall of Warner Robins; sister Ann Bazemore of Warner Robins; and a grandchild.

Okee Prestridge Jr.
Services for Okee B. Prestridge Jr. will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Macon Evangelistic Church, with burial in Macon Memorial Park. Prestridge, 72, died Monday, Jan. 1, 2001, at his residence. Born in Randolph County, Ala., he was the son of the late Okee B. Prestridge Sr. and Annie Mae Fincher Prestridge. He was retired from Macon State College, where he was formerly chief of security, and was owner of Okee's Barber Shop on Houston Avenue. He was a member of Macon Evangelistic Church.

Survivors include his daughter Cheryl Spillers of Macon; sister and brother Barbara Walker of Macon and James Prestridge of Fort Worth, Texas; grandchildren Jerrell Prestridge Jr. and Ashley Spillers; and two great-grandchildren.

Services for Ruby Nyece Bryant Watt will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Bethlehem Baptist Church, Dodge County, with burial in the church cemetery. Watt, 66, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000. Born in Trumann, Ark., she was a finishing operator at Macon Shirt Co. She was a homemaker and member of Porterfield Baptist Church.

Survivors include her children Susan Sammons of Dublin, Christine Lastinger of Macon, P. Richard Bryant of Warner Robins, James Bryant Jr. of Mansfield, Ohio, Kirk D. Watt of Birmingham, Ala., and Michael J. Watt of Byron; brother Johnny Graham of Crawford County; and 14 grandchildren.

Marie Whitehead
DUBLIN -- Services for Marie Whitehead will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Green Grove Baptist Church, with burial in Dudley Memorial Cemetery. Whitehead, 86, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000. She was a member of Green Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son Willie Green of Dublin; and grandchildren the Rev. Walter Williams and Gail Williams, both of Jacksonville, Fla., Dorothy O'Neal of Milledgeville and Mary Ray of Dublin.

Bobby Woodard
MILLEDGEVILLE -- Services for Bobby James Woodard will be at 4 p.m. today in Northview Cemetery, Dublin. Woodard, 64, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000, in a local hospital. Born in Laurens County, he had lived in Milledgeville since 1988. He was a former employee of Central State Hospital and was a cab driver.

Survivors include his sisters Winnie Etheridge and Sara L. Mullis, both of Milledgeville, Betty Payne of Dublin, Florence Batchelor of Panama City, Fla., and Carolyn Jo Newton of Sanford, N.C.

Willie Wyatt
Services for Willie Mae Christy Wyatt will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Wyatt, 83, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000. She was a textile worker at Cotton Mills in Payne City. She was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church and Eva Walton Sunday School Class. She also was a member of Christian on Duty and the C.O.D. Group. 

Survivors include her children Arthur Wyatt Jr. of Titusville, Fla., Dorothy Mae Wyatt Rouis of Warner Robins and Shirley Ann Wyatt Rouis of Orlando, Fla.; sisters Lenora Christy Smith, Florine Christy Myers and Hazel Christy Butler, all of Watkinsville; 12 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
