John J. Agans
HOBE SOUND - John J. Agans, 75, of Hobe Sound died Tuesday, May 9, 2000, at his residence.
A native of Somerville, N.J., he had been a resident of Hobe Sound since 1975. He moved here from Middlesex, N.J.
Before retirement, he was a staff supervisor of installation for New Jersey Bell in Plainfield, N.J. for 32 years.
During World War II, he served in the Navy as a petty officer.
He was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church, Hobe Sound and past president of the Holy Name Society of Our Lady of Mt. Virgin Church, Middlesex, N.J.
He was a member of VFW Post 10132 of Hobe Sound, past president of RPOA in Hobe Sound and served as president on the Board of Education in Middlesex.
His hobbies included golf, fishing and music.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Agans of Montclair, N.J.; three daughters, Sister Jeanne Agans of Wayne, N.J., Carolyn Dean and husband John of Vero Beach and Marjorie Cozzetto and husband Samuel of Huntington, N.Y.; three sons, Michael Agans and wife, Mary Anne of Bound Brook, N.J., David Agans and wife Gail of Wilton, N.H., and Thomas Agans and wife Linda of Hilliard, Ohio; a sister, Marjorie Rabke of Middlesex; a brother, Robert Agans of Middlesex; his longtime companion, Mary DiMaria of Hobe Sound; and 11 grandchildren. A Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 12, at St. Christopher Church in Hobe Sound.
A VFW service will be at noon, Friday, May 12, at the VFW Lodge in Hobe Sound.

STUART - G. Howard Ashby, 89, of Stuart died Sunday, May 7, 2000, at his home.
A native of Manitowoc, Wis., he lived in Stuart for 28 years. He moved here from Rocky River, Ohio.
Before retirement, he worked as a boat captain for U.S. Steel on the Great Lakes.
He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Stuart and the Martin County Golf Association.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Doris Ashby of Stuart; two daughters, Barbara Allen and husband Steve of Los Angeles and Ellen Judge and husband Wallace of Columbus, Ohio; and three grandchildren.
A service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 11, at Forest Hills Funeral Home, Palm City.

STUART - Felix Balbo, 82, of Stuart died Monday, May 8, 2000, at Hospice of Martin and St. Lucie.
A native of New York City, he lived in Stuart for 27 years. He moved here from Queens Village, N.Y.
He served in the Navy during World War II.
Before retirement, he was a silversmith in New York.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Stuart.
He was a member of Elks #1870 of Stuart/Jensen Beach.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Norma Balbo of Stuart.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. today at Forest Hills Funeral Home, Palm City.
A service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 11, at the funeral home.

FORT PIERCE - Jennie "Grannie" Boyette, 92, of Fort Pierce died Monday, May 8, 2000, in a local hospital.
A native of Nashville, Ark., she lived in Fort Pierce for 75 years. She came to Florida in 1919 from Baytown, Texas.
She enjoyed cooking, Little League baseball and growing roses.
She was predeceased by two sons, Samuel Boyette and Carl Boyette.
Survivors include a son, Ernest Boyette of Vero Beach; a daughter, Henrietta Johnson and husband Hank of Fort Pierce; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A service will be at 2 p.m. today in the Yates Funeral Home chapel, Fort Pierce. The Rev. Clark Thompson will officiate.

PORT ST. LUCIE - Frank A. Curry Jr., 77, of Port St. Lucie died Tuesday, May 9, 2000, in St. Lucie Medical Center.
A native of Chicago, he lived in Port St. Lucie for seven years. He moved here from Homestead.
Before retirement, he was a firefighter for the City of Miami.
He served in the Marines during World War II.
He was a member of the Treasure Coast Wood Carvers Club, Port St. Lucie Elks and Port St. Lucie Moose.
Survivors include three daughters, Pamela Hills of Gulf Breeze, Fla., Kim Musumeci of Homestead and Barbara Curry of Islamorada, Fla.; a brother, John Curry of Miami; his companion, Linda Pyatt of Port St. Lucie; and three grandchildren.
A service will be at a later date.

STUART - Robert Dee Jones, 69, of Stuart died Monday, May 8, 2000, at his home. A native of Bethel, Mich., he lived in Stuart for five years. He moved here from Union City, Mich.
He was an automobile salesman.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Norma Jones of Stuart; two sons, Daniel Robert Jones of Stuart and David Lynn Jones of Michigan; a sister, Linda Sonnenburg of Titusville; two brothers, Gordon Jones of Michigan and Ronald Jones of Michigan; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Eleanor Loving
FORT PIERCE - Eleanor Loving, 76, of Fort Pierce died Sunday, May 7, 2000, at Hospice of Martin & St. Lucie Residence, Stuart.
A native of Chicago, she lived in Fort Pierce since 1991. She moved here from Downers Grove, Ill.
She was predeceased by her husband, Melvin E. Loving, in 1992.
Survivors include a son, Melvin K. Loving and wife April of Fort Pierce; a daughter, Yvonne Biermann and husband Cliff of Lisle, Ill.; a sister, Cecilia Starosta of Darien, Ill.; and four grandchildren.
A service was celebrated Monday, May 8, at Riverside Memorial Park Mausoleum in Tequesta. Cpt. Robert Reckline of the Salvation Army officiated.

She was a native of Ireland.
Before retirement, she was a registered nurse.
Survivors include her friend, Frederick Reeves of Port St. Lucie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 11, at St. Lucie Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie.

Edward E. De Atley
PORT ST. LUCIE - Edward E. "Mr. Ed" De Atley, 78, of Port St. Lucie died Sunday, July 30, 2000.
He moved to Port St. Lucie from Fort Pierce.
Before retirement, he was a union steel painter and supervisor at Florida Power and Light Co. Nuclear Plant, Hutchinson Island.
He served as an master sergeant aerial engineer in the Army Air Forces during World War II.
He was a member of the Kings Isle Bowling League and Knights of Columbus 3416, Fort Pierce.
He was predeceased by his wife, Ethel M. De Atley.
Survivors include three sons, Michael, Edward J. and Mark De Atley; three daughters, Rebecca and Debbie De Atley and Carol Martz; a sister, Evelyn Buxbaum; a close friend, Marion Ewald; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

STUART - Mary F. Elvidge, 63, of Stuart died Monday, Aug. 7, 2000, at her home.
A native of Detroit, she lived in Stuart for 12 years.
She was a homemaker
Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Paul Elvidge Sr. of Stuart; two sons, Paul Elvidge of Stuart and John Elvidge of Fort Polk, La.; a daughter, Elizabeth Nelson of Bayview, Mich.; and a grandchild.

PORT ST. LUCIE - Alexander Fedas, 83, of Port St. Lucie died Saturday, Aug. 5, 2000, at his home.
A native of Berwick, Pa., he lived in Port St. Lucie for 14 years. He moved here from Aurora, Ill.
He was a carpenter and master wood craftsman who made toys.
His hobbies included bowling and fishing.
Survivors include three grandchildren, Danielle Breteau of Stuart, and Cindy Keri and Michael Pecoraro, both of Woodstock, Ga.; and two great-grandchildren.

JENSEN BEACH - Sheila Ann Johnson, 48, of Jensen Beach died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000, in Martin Memorial Medical Center, Stuart.
A native of Holyoke, Mass., she lived in Jensen Beach for 10 years. She moved here from Fort Lauderdale.
Survivors include her husband, Loyd C. Johnson Jr. of Jensen Beach; her mother Mary Buckley of Fort Lauderdale; a daughter, Lisa Lynn Johnson of Jensen Beach; a brother, Stanley Buckley of Fort Lauderdale; and two sisters, Patti Bowden and husband Roger of Chicopee, Mass., and Linda Mannix Burt and husband Lee of Fort Lauderdale.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Satur day, Aug. 12, at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, Jensen Beach.

JENSEN BEACH - Kevin T. Laurent, 48, of Jensen Beach died Saturday, Aug. 5, 2000, in Martin Memorial Hospital South, Port Salerno.
A native of Keene, N.H., he lived in Jensen Beach for four years. He moved here from Las Vegas.
He was a carpenter.
He enjoyed mountain biking, hiking, fishing and camping.
Survivors include his mother, Beverly Cass Spearman of Melbourne; a daughter, Enjoli Laurent of Las Vegas; two sons, Shayne Laurent of Canada and Shon Laurent of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and two brothers, Doug and Kim Laurent, both of Fort Lauderdale.

FORT PIERCE - Josephine "Jody" M. Lauth, 79, of Fort Pierce died Saturday, Aug. 5, 2000, at her home.
A native of Chicago, she lived in Florida for 30 years. She moved here from Illinois.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Fred P. Lauth; a son, Ron Lauth of Vero Beach; four daughters, Lynette Sexton and Joan Reading, both of Vero Beach, Nanci White of Northglen, Colo., and Janice Douglas of Fort Pierce; and eight grandchildren.

Inurnment will be in Hope Cemetery, Easton, Ill.

A native of Philadelphia, he lived in Port St. Lucie for 10 years. He moved here from Philadelphia.
He was a display owner.
He served in the Navy.

Before retirement, she was a seamstress in the garment industry for many years.
She was predeceased by her husband, John B. Murgia.

She served in the Army as a draftsman.

A native of Hollywood, Fla., he lived in Port St. Lucie for 16 years. He moved here from Miami.
He was a graduate of St. Lucie West Centennial High School, Port St. Lucie.
Survivors include his parents, Kevin and Teresa Voorhees of Port St. Lucie; a sister, Keri Ann Voorhees of Port St. Lucie; his grandfather, Henry Voorhees of Port St. Lucie; and his grandmother, Francine Wilbanks of Jacksonville.

Before retirement, he was president of Porter Chemical Co., Hatfield, Pa., for 19 years.
He was of the Catholic faith.
He enjoyed boating and fishing.
He was predeceased by his wife, Esther S. Bradley.
Survivors include a son, Milton S. Bradley and wife Suzanne of Atlantic Beach, Fla.; a daughter, Judith B. Zahn and husband Stephen of West Hatfield, Mass.; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

A native of Passaic, N.J., he was a long-time resident of Saddle River, N.J.
Before retirement, he owned Werner Industries, Passaic.
He served in the military during World War II.
He was a member of the Saddle River Reformed Church, Upper Saddle River, N.J.
He was a member of the Joe Jefferson Club, Saddle River, the Black Meadow Club, Monroe, N.Y., and Harbour Ridge Yacht and Country Club, Palm City.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Rose Kuhn of Palm City; a son William T. Kuhn and wife Danielle M. of Spartanburg, S.C.; a daughter, Carolyn J. Kuhn of Las Cruces, N.M.; and three grandchildren.

A native of Haw River, N.C., he lived in Port St. Lucie for five years. He moved here from Boca Raton.
Before retirement, he was a cartographer with the Army Map Service and the Department of Agriculture.
His hobbies include woodworking.
He was predeceased by his wife, Mae M. McPherson, on Sept. 10, 1994.
Survivors include two daugh- ters, Joanne M. Raulin of Port St. Lucie, and Jeanette M. Bensel and husband Jack of Baltimore; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Pompano Beach.

FORT PIERCE - James Radford Tyner, 50, of Fort Pierce died Friday, Sept. 8, 2000.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Fort Pierce.
He owned Tyner Construction for 20 years and J.B. Materials for three years.
He graduated from Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Beverly Tyner of Fort Pierce; a son, Denis Michael Tyner of Fort Pierce; three brothers, Grady Wayne Tyner of Harlingen, Texas, and Bryan and Kelly Tyner, both of Vero Beach; three sisters, Marie Tyner of Lakeland, Linda Tyner of Vero Beach, and Mary Ann Tyner of Colombia; and a grandchild.
