Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he moved to this area four years ago. He was a retired detective for the New York City Police Department and a Catholic by faith.

Mary Eleanor Sendlenski, 83, of Silver Springs, died Wednesday.
Born in Southampton, N.Y., she moved to Silver Springs 18 years ago. She was a retired telephone company supervisor; a member of The Telephone Pioneers of America; chaplain of the Eagles Lodge, Silver Springs; and a member of St. Joseph's of the Forest Catholic Church, Silver Springs.
She is survived by two sons, Stanley of Weeki Wachee and Robert F. of Southampton, N.Y.; three brothers, Robert F. Fanning of Silver Springs, Donald E. Fanning of Southampton, N.Y. and Gerald P. Fanning of Sag Harbor, N.Y.; three sisters, Lorraine Balserus of Southampton, N.Y., Eileen Krejcki of Water Mill, N.Y. and Margaret Ann Andrews of Ocala; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

James Richard Praul, 62, of Spring Hill, died Friday at Spring Hill Regional Hospital.
Born in Norristown, Pa., he moved to this area five years ago from Cresco, Pa. He was a retired sergeant for the South Plainfield, N.J., police department. He was a member of American Legion Post 99, Brooksville; a member of the Elk in South Plainfield, N.J.; and past president of Local 100 P.B.A. in New Jersey. He was a Protestant by faith.
He is survived by is wife, Irene of Spring Hill; a son, Jeffrey of South Plainfield, N.J.; two daughters, Jennifer Lenik of South Jersey and Joanne of New York; a brother, Edward of Ohio; and five grandchildren.  [Published February 1, 1999]

Stephen P. Kobus
Stephen P. Kobus, 77, of Kingsport, Tenn., and formerly of Brooksville, died Friday at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport.
Born in Chicago, he was a retired pipefitter and a U.S. Army Air Corp veteran of World War II. he was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Gate City, Va., the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 49 years, Gertrude and a daughter, Marilou.
He is survived by two daughters, Susan of Duluth, Ga. and Sandra Dettmann of Naperville, Ill.; three sons, Gregory of Lake Forest, Ill., William of Kingsport, Tenn. and John of Evergreen, Colo.; and six grandchildren, Emily, Ellen, Gregory, Mary Martha, Adam and Bryan Dettman.

He was born in Mt. Vernon, N.Y., and moved to this area 16 years ago from St. Petersburg. He was a retired bricklayer, a member of BMPIU Local No. 3, Tampa-St. Petersburg and John Stewart Masonic Lodge, Mt. Vernon, and a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.

He was a retired military engineer with the U.S. Air Force, an engineer for the City of Brooksville and Withlacoochee River Electric Co., a volunteer with the Hernando County Sheriff's Office Hernando Beach Sub-station, and a member of First Baptist Church of Weeki Wachee Acres.

Marjorie Lewis Carver, 88, of Brooksville, died Saturday, Feb. 6, at Evergreen Woods Adult Health Care, Brooksville.
She was born in Tippecanoe City, Ohio, and moved to this area six years ago from Alexandria, Va. She was a commercial artist in advertising, a real estate broker and an Episcopalian by faith.
Survivors include a son, Philip M. Urick of Brooksville; a stepson, David B. of York, Pa.; two stepdaughters, Virginia Halliday of Chicago, Ill., and Celia Besselman of Columbus, Ohio; three sisters, Lillian Curtis of Ft. Myers, Wanda Snyder of Apollo Beach and Florence Younce of Troy, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Josephine (Jo) Gesimondo
Josephine (Jo) Gesimondo, 77, of Spring Hill, died Sunday, Feb. 7, at her home.
She was born in Venice, Italy, and moved to this area 10 years ago from New York. She was a field director in the dry cleaning industry, and a member of the New York City Board of Education, Forest Oaks Civic Association, Senior Citizens Club of Hernando and St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, Spring Hill.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph; two sons, John of Old Bridge, N.J., and Tom of Oak Ridge, N.J.; and three grandchildren.

John F. Barna
John F. Barna, 79, of Spring Hill, died Sunday, Feb. 7, at Spring Hill Regional Hospital.
He was born in the Bronx, N.Y., and moved to this area recently from Somers, N.Y. He was the owner/operator of a real estate company, a World War II U.S. Army Air Force veteran, a member of the VFW and Board of Realtors, both of New York, and a Catholic by faith.

Edward "Sonny" Mikesell
Edward "Sonny" Mikesell, 72, winter resident of Spring Hill, died Sunday, Feb. 7, at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point, Hudson. 
He was born in Kocomo, Ind., and has been a winter resident of this area for three years from Michigan. He was self-employed, a member of the Masonic Order, Michigan, and a Christian by faith.

Clifford "Bud" M. Bender, Jr.
Clifford "Bud" M. Bender, Jr., 86, of Brooksville, died Monday, Feb. 8, at Eastbrooke Health Care Center.
He was born in Philadelphia, Pa., and moved to this area 14 years ago from Pottstown, Pa. He was an electrician, a World War II U.S. Army and Air Force veteran, a member of VFW Post 8713, Brooksville, and a Protestant by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia; four stepsons, Gregory Konecko of Pensauken, N.J., Richard Konecko of Omaha, Neb., Stephan Konecko of Austin, Texas, and Dennis Konecko of Anaheim, Calif.; two sisters, Elsie Mae Rondum of Oxford, Pa., and Bertha Taylor of Virginia Beach, Va.; and two stepgrandchildren.

Dorothy A. Castline, 72, of Timber Pines, Spring Hill, died Saturday, Feb. 6, at Oak Hill Hospital.
She was born in Montclair, N.J., and moved to this area eight years ago from New Jersey. She was an accountant in the manufacturing industry and a member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Charles; a daughter, Dorene Nitch of Ft. Myers; and five grandchildren.

Albert Samuel Huver
Albert Samuel Huver, 67, of Brooksville, died Saturday, Feb. 6, at home.
He was born in Philadelphia, Pa., and moved to this area 34 years ago from Newark, Del. He retired from the U.S. Government Agriculture Dept. of Beef Cattle Research Station and was a Catholic by faith.
Survivors include a son, Reilly of Homosassa; three daughters, Mina P. of Brooksville, Margret T. Clark and Lisa Melick; three brothers, Joseph W. of Philadelphia, Peter J. of Springfield, Pa., and Richard of Atlantic City, N.J.; a sister, Bernice Sable of Boulder, Colo.; and six grandchildren.

Milton A. Ackerman
Milton A. Ackerman, 77, of Spring Hill, died Sunday, Feb. 7, at his home.
He was born in Washington, D.C., and moved to this area five years ago from Rockville, Md. He was a mapmaker for the U.S. Government, a World War II U.S. Army veteran, and a member of VFW Post 10209, American Legion of Brooksville and Northcliffe Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mabel; a daughter, Peggy DelGallo of Spring Hill; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Lila Mildred Maurer, 90, of Brookridge, Brooksville, died Monday, Feb. 8, at her home.
She was a native of Somers, Wis., and moved to this area nine years ago from Racine, Wis. She was a retired shipping clerk for Andis Clipper Co., Racine, and a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aero Space Workers and Calvary Memorial Church, Racine.
Survivors include her daughter, Marjorie Durbin of Brooksville; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
