He was born in Adel, Ga., and moved to this area 36 years ago from Winter Springs. He was an excavating contractor and a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of American Legion Post 335 of New Port Richey, the Masonic Lodge, Black Mountain Opry Karaoke Club of Hudson, Archery Club, Non-Commissioned Officers Association and the Bethel Baptist Church of Gowers Corner.

He was born in New York City, N.Y., and moved to this area nine years ago from Queens, N.Y. He was the Director of Communications for Mt. Sinai Hospital, a member of the National Rifle Association and a Roman Catholic by faith.
He is survived by his wife, Josephine Patera of Spring Hill.
