He was born in Washington, D.C., and moved to this area 16 years ago from Virginia. He was a Steam Engineer for the U.S. Government in Washington, D.C., a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, a life member of VFW Post 9236, and a Catholic by faith.

Joseph Sanders Sr., 70, of Spring Hill, died Thursday, June 29, at Vencor Hospital, Tampa.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he moved to this area 23 years ago from Long Island, N.Y. He was a self-employed produce buyer, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a Catholic by faith.

Rev. David L. Stephens, 66, of Brooksville, died Wednesday, July 5, at his home.
He was born in Huntington, W.Va., and moved to this area 36 years ago from Tampa. He was Pastor of New Hope Baptist Church of Brooksville, and the former Pastor of Hebron Baptist, Westside Baptist, both of Brooksville, and the First Baptist Church of Masaryktown. He was the former Chaplain of Brooksville Road prison, a former Deputy Sheriff, and ministered the Hour of Power Baptist Hour on WWJB radio since 1966.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara; four sons, Michael D., Phillip W., Alan G., and Timothy A., all of Brooksville; a stepson, Ward Shughart of Atchison, Kan., a daughter, Eva Lee Edwards of Holly Pond, Ala.; two stepdaughters, Kathleen J. He was a World War II U.S. Army and Navy veteran, a member of VFW Post 4699 Sayreville Memorial Post in Sayreville, N.J., and Local 24 of the International Union of Operating Engineers. He was a Catholic by faith.

Born in Valley Bend, W. V., she moved to this area 12 years ago from St. Petersburg.
She retired in 1979 from the State of Ohio Highway Department where she was a custodian. She was a member of the ladies' auxiliary of Moose Lodge 918, Veterans of Foreign Wars 8186, Fraternal Order of Eagles 4147 Seminole, American Legion Post 273 and Methodist by faith.
Survivors include her husband John, two brothers; Joe Bedford of Canton, Ohio and James Bedford of Akron, Ohio; and a sister, Josephine Bates of Spring Hill.

Born in Passaic, N.J., he moved to this area 24 years ago. He was a retired inspector at Wallacet Ternan, Bellville, N.J., where he had worked 29 years. He was Greek Catholic by faith.
Tokarik is survived by his wife Margaret, two sons; Edward L. of Venice, Calif. And Douglas W. of Newbury Park, Calif.; six grandchildren and one great grandchild.

She is survived by three sons, Rex of Live Oak, Clay and Mark, both of Brooksville; a daughter, Cheryl Biggs of Brooksville; a sister, Alice Redfern of Lakeland; 13 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Born in Toronto, Canada, he moved to this area nine years ago from Hartwell, Ga. He was a retired manager for the Federal Aviation Administration, served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II and was a member of the Spring Hill United Church of Christ.

He was retired from the Erie Brewing Company and a retired president of the Brewery Workers, Cigar Makers and Distiller's Union. He was a member of St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church and the Sunshine Club.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Kellick Hauser; three sons; John of Spring Hill, Robert H. of Rochester and Alan M. of Girard, Penn.; a brother, Henry of Erie; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Christopher M. Gardiner, 40, of Spring Hill, died Saturday, July 15, at home. 
Born in Boston, Mass., he moved to this area 11 years ago from Westbrook, Maine. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force and a member of VFW Post 10209, Spring Hill, Transplant International Organization and Living Historians. He was also a volunteer with Boy Scout Troop 419 in Spring Hill and at Camp Sunshine, a camp for children with cancer.

She was born in Springfield, Mo., and moved to this area 12 years ago from Mt. Clemens, Mich. She was a retired nutritionist for Vitality Unlimited of Pontiac, Mich., a member of Eastern Star for 42 years, VFWA Post 10209, Moose Lodge 222 of Michigan, and a Presbyterian by faith.

Clemens, and Lyle Minnick of Spring Hill; a stepson, Don Stevenson of California; three brothers, Earl Berrey, formerly of Spring Hill now of North Carolina, Gene and Harry Berrey, both of Kansas City, Mo.; and four sisters, June Troust of Spring Hill, Florine Ruby, Betty Mull and Joy Kowalski, all of Michigan.

Benjamin William Dixon, 93, of Philomath, Ore., formerly of Brooksville, died Saturday, July 8, at his home.
He was born in New York City, N.Y. He was a retired mechanic for Mack Truck.
Survivors include three daughters, Regina Leytem of Philomath, Shirley Hoffard of Mukilteo, Wash., and Phyllis Dickinson of Elizabethtown, N.Y.
