Truman "T.J." Smith, 87, of Brooksville, died Friday, May 19, at his home.
Born in Lawrence County, Ala., he moved to this area 23 years ago from Tampa. He was owner of T.J. Smith and Son Dairy, Brooksville; past president of Dairy Farmers Inc. and the Tampa Independent Dairy Farmers Association; an inductee to the Florida Dairy Hall of Fame; a member of Gulf Ridge Park Baptist Church; and a Baptist deacon.
He is survived by his wife, Janie; a son, Kenneth W. of Brooksville; a sister, Claudie Rucks of Okeechobee; two grandchildren, Erica L. Butts and Troy J. Smith of Brooksville; and four great-grandchildren.

Jerry L. Garrett, 48, of Brooksville, died Thursday, May 18, at his home.
Born in Brooksville, he was a lifelong resident. He was a heavy equipment operator for Florida Mining and a Baptist by faith.
He is survived by his wife, Sallie; two sons, Jerry and Andrew Garrett, both of Brooksville; a daughter, Michelle Sturgill of Brooksville; three sisters, Wilma Douglas of Orlando, Shelia Sutter of Brooksville and Sharon Garrett of Tennessee; and seven grandchildren.

Carolyn Ruth Cecille Roudebush, 79, of Spring Hill, died Sunday, May 21, at her home.
She was born in Superior, Neb. and moved to this area 11 years ago from Treasure Island. She retired as co-owner of AAA Direct Mailing Services of St. Petersburg. She was a Women's Army Corps veteran of World War II, a charter member of the Hernando Women's Army Corp Veterans Chapter 97, and a member of the Hernando County Winding Waters Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and Grace Lutheran Church. 
Survivors include her husband, William Vernon; four children, Scott William, Timothy Russell, Julaine K. Fowler, and Holly Beth Michaels; and four grandchildren.

Melvin Witter, 93, of Brooksville, died Sunday, May 21, at Oak Hill Hospital. 
He was a native of Castalia, Ohio and moved to this area 27 years ago from Lakewood, Ohio. He was a retired magazine publication salesman and a member of the Brooksville Elks Lodge, High Point and Brookridge Bowling Leagues, High Point Golf Club, the American Legion, and Nativity Lutheran Church of Weeki Wachee. 
Survivors include his wife, Blanche; a son, Robert of Mentor, Ohio; a daughter, Nancy Kruski of Williamsport, Pa.; two stepsons, Edward Harkless and Larry Moore, both of Akron, Ohio; and two stepdaughters, Norma Harkless and Eilene Moore, both of Akron.

Paul Edward D'Alessio, 66, of Spring Hill, died Wednesday, May 24, at Oak Hill Hospital. He was a native of Queens, N.Y., and moved to this area 10 years ago. He was a retired claims adjuster for Hartford Insurance Company, a U.S. Air Force veteran, and a member of Knights of Columbus 6383. He was Catholic by faith.

Frank P. Schifano, 75, of Spring Hill, died Tuesday, May 23, at Bayfront Medical Center, St. Petersburg. He was born in Manhattan, N. Y. and moved to this area 11 years ago from Lindenhurst, Long Island, N.Y. He was a retired machinist in the manufacturing industry, and a member of the N.Y. Club. He was Catholic by faith.

Helen Marion Usenski, 84, of Spring Hill, died Tuesday, May 23, at Spring Hill Regional Hospital. She was born in Bridgeport, Conn., and came here 10 years ago from Long Island, N.Y. She was a retired press operator from Kimball Company. She was Catholic by faith.

Harold Furnish, 76, of Spring Hill, died Sunday, May 21, at Hernando-Pasco Hospice House. Born in Muncie, Ind., he moved to this area 30 years ago from Pasco County. He was a retired construction worker, a U.S. Army World War II veteran, member of the VFW and DAV post in Brooksville; and a Protestant by faith.

She was a telecommunications inspector, and a member of the Lost Cord Club, Telephone Pioneers, VFW and Eagles, all of Ohio. Survivors include four sons, William M. and Randoll P.
