James Thomas Malcolm Jr., 84, of Spring Hill, died Saturday, Sept.
25, at Heartland of Brooksville.
He was born in Portsmouth, Va., and moved to this area 19 years ago
from Kings Mountain, N.C. He retired from the textiles industry and was
a member of the Civil Air Patrol for 40 years with the rank of lieutenant
colonel.
Survivors include his wife, Frances; two daughters, Pat Howard of Hudson
and Rose Ince of Spring Hill; a son, James III of Lenoir, N.C.; five grandchildren;
three great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Lawrence Kenneth "Tom" Purvis, 91, of Dade City, formerly of Bradenton,

He was a native of Mattoon, Ill., and moved to this area 43 years ago.
He was a retired Ford dealer and a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, serving
as a flight instructor.

Susie Ross Hoffman, 51, of Hudson, formerly of Tarpon Springs and Palm
Harbor, died Saturday, Sept. 25, as a result of an automobile accident
in Tarrytown.
She was born in Winter Haven and moved to this area 19 years ago from
Tarpon Springs. She was a 1966 graduate of Tarpon Springs High School and
received her masters from the University of South Florida. She was a pre-Kindergarten
supervisor for the Pasco County Head Start Program, where she was a speaker
at seminars throughout the U.S. She was a member of the First Baptist Church
of Hernando Beach, where she was active with the youth group and was a
choir member.

a son, Chad Welden of Jacksonville; a stepson, Brian of Pennsylvania; her
mother, Elizabeth Ross of Spring Hill; two brothers, Charles Ross of Hudson

Carl Frederick "Rick" Hoffman Jr., 52, of Hudson, formerly of Palm
Harbor, died Saturday, Sept. 25, as a result of an automobile accident
