John R. Ashmore, 75, of Crystal River died Sunday, Jan. 18, 1998. He was born in Fort Worth, Texas, and came to Crystal River 10 years ago from Great Falls, Mont. Mr. Ashmore was retired from Northern Testing in equipment maintenance. He was a World War II Navy veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Joyce Miller Ashmore of Crystal River; two sons, John T. and Jacob, both of Crystal River; four daughters, Mrs. Leslie Schneider of Great Falls, Mont., Mrs. Allison Wray of Atlanta, Ga., Mrs. Adrian Hess, Mrs. Courtney Holmes, both of Crystal River; sister, Mrs. Eudean Stapleton of Lubbock, Texas; and six grandchildren.

James Callahan, 75, of Lecanto 
James Ambrose Callahan, 75, of Lecanto died Sunday, Jan. 18, 1998. He was born in Boston, Mass., and came to Lecanto 10 years ago from Braintree, Mass. Mr. Callahan was a retired electrician for Mass General Hospital, Boston, Mass. He was a member of the New England Social Club of Beverly Hills; Beverly Hills Recreation Association; Beverly Hills Civic Association; United Residents of Beverly Hills and Knights of Columbus Council 6168, Beverly Hills. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Beverly Hills.
Surviving are his two brothers, Arthur C. and Richard W., both of Braintree, Mass.; and friend Mrs. Christel Bosley of Lecanto.

George Carter, 72, of Ocala 
George Carter, 72, of Ocala died Monday, Jan. 19, 1998. A native of England, he came to Ocala in 1987 from Albany, N.Y. Mr. Carter was a retired Lieutenant Colonel with the U.S. Air Force. He served as an Air Force combat pilot in World War II, Korea and Vietnam.
Surviving are his wife, Anne Carter of Ocala; and daughter, Diane Carter of Richmond, Va.

Raymond Klee, 69, of Sugarmill Woods
Raymond Albert Klee, born in Lemont, Ill., Dec. 23, 1928, died Jan. 18, 1998. He was the beloved husband of 491/2 years to Ramona L. (Fessenden) Klee. Devoted father of Michael and wife Phyllis of Appleton, Wis., and John and wife Pam of Denver, Colo. Grandfather of Joanna, Andrea, Piper and Paul Klee. Cousin: Sister Alice Emile Schacht OSF of Joliet, Ill.
Mr. Klee moved to Southern Woods (Sugarmill Woods) in June 1995, from Freeport, Ill. He started his working life as an insurance examiner for Illinois, became secretary of a Fraternal Life Insurance Society "The Royal League" Chicago. He went on to become executive director of The National Fraternal Congress of America (a trade association for 100 Fraternal Societies in Chicago). He ended his insurance career as CEO, president and chairman of the board of Bankers Mutual Life Insurance Co. in Freeport, Ill. Retired in 1994.
Mr. Klee was a member of St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church. He was a member of Southern Woods Golf Club, where he also served on the advisory board. He was a board member of Trustmark Insurance Co., of Lake Forest, Ill.

Gary Linton Jr., 84, of Inverness 
Gary Bogan Linton Jr., 84, of Inverness died Monday, Jan. 19, 1998. He was born in Groveland and came to Inverness 24 years ago from Safety Harbor. Mr. Linton was a retired principal at Safety Harbor Elementary School; a member of the Lions Club, Inverness; Egypt Temple Shrine; Safety Harbor Masonic Lodge No. 252; Retired Teachers of Citrus County and Florida Retired Educators. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Inverness. He was the husband of the late Mrs. Nell Linton, who died May 28, 1975.
Surviving are his son, Gary B. III of Melbourne; daughter, Ms. Rebecca A. Linton of Phoenix, Ariz.; two grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Lois Shay, 79, of Lecanto
Lois E. Shay, 79, of Lecanto, formerly of Swartz Creek, Mich., died Friday, Jan. 16, 1998, at Brentwood Health Center. She was born Nov. 21, 1918, in Flint, Mich., the daughter of Alec and Lois (Nedau) Rau. She had resided in Lecanto since 1983 coming from Swartz Creek, Mich. She married Russell C. Shay May 31, 1941 in Flint, Mich., at St. Michaels Catholic Church. She was employed by Flint Osteopathic Hospital as an LPN for 20 years, retiring in 1980. She was a member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Swartz Creek, Mich.
Surviving are her husband, Russell C.; five children, Sandra and husband Mike Costello of Swartz Creek, Mich., Marleen and husband Wayne Davis of Flint, Mich., Charles and wife DaraLee Shay of Durand, Mich., Patricia and husband Dan Monroe of Swartz Creek, Mich. Michael and wife Susie Shay of Durand, Mich.; 16 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Parks of Fenton, Mich., and JoAnne and husband Gerry McKenzie of Harrison, Mich.; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Margaret Shay.

Dorothy Mary Stuart, 68, of Homosassa died Sunday, Jan. 18, 1998. She was born in Wendover, England, and came to Homosassa seven years ago from Silver Spring, Md. Mrs. Stuart was a retired vice president of the Citizens Savings Bank, Silver Spring, Md. She was a member of the Riverhaven Community Club and past president of the Riverhaven Garden Club. She was Presbyterian.
Surviving are her husband of 45 years, James A. Stuart of Homosassa; daughter, Miss Heather M. Stuart of Homosassa; and sister, Mrs. Barbara R. Oaks of Beverly Hills.

Ruth Georgia, 82, of Inverness 
Ruth Alice Georgia, 82, of Inverness died Monday, Jan. 19, 1998, at the Citrus Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born in New York City, on June 7, 1915, to Rev. Howard C. and Lela V. Spaulding Myers, she moved here in 1990 from Flat Rock, N.C. Mrs. Georgia was a pianist and served as church pianist and music director, along with many other responsibilities alongside her husband, at the churches he pastored, including the Northside Baptist Church in St. Petersburg for 17 years. She was most recently a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Inverness.
Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Rev. Francis R. Georgia of Inverness; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald E. and Donna Georgia of Floral City and Randall C. and Virginia Georgia of Pickens, S.C.; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Irene K. Lockhart, 70, of Beverly Hills died Saturday, Jan. 17, 1998. She was born in Dayton, Ohio, and came to Beverly Hills 14 years ago from there. Mrs. Lockhart was retired from the U.S. government as a classifier in the Defense Electronics Supply Center, Kettering, Ohio, after 25 years. She was a member of St. Scholastica Catholic Church, Lecanto. She was the wife of the late Mr. Luther R. Lockhart, who died Jan. 5, 1998.
She is survived by her sister, Mrs. Mary Ann Klitzman of Bethesda, Md.

Helen Maria Pitts, 87, of Lecanto died Saturday, Jan. 17, 1998. She was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., and came to Lecanto 10 years ago from Ocala. 
Mrs. Pitts was a member of the Silver Springs Shores Presbyterian Church, Silver Springs. She was the wife of the late Mr. Martin K. Pitts, who died Sept. 16, 1993.
Surviving are two sons, John Pitts of Austin, Texas, and Richard Pitts of San Francisco, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Lucille Keen of Norwalk, Conn., and Mrs. Gloria Croll of Pacific Grove, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Marion Northacker of Summerfield, Fla.; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Evelyn M. Richard, 87, of Homosassa died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 1998. She was born in Chicago, Ill., and came to Homosassa two years ago from Stuart. 
Mrs. Richard was a member of the Ingjald Lodge No. 65 Independent Order of Vikings, Jamestown, N.Y. She was Catholic. She was the wife of the late Mr. John Wedemeyer who died in 1965, and Mr. Frank Richard who died in 1995.
Surviving are her son, Tom Wedemeyer of Cohutta, Ga.; three grandchildren, Brian Wedemeyer, Ericka Wedemeyer, and Tricia Hall; and one great-granddaughter, Samantha Miller.

Lena G. Petti Steinberg, 71, of Beverly Hills died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 1998, at her home under the loving care of her family and Hospice of Citrus County. Born in New York, N.Y., on July 8, 1926, to Sal and Rose Favale Forgione, she came here 17 years ago from Edison, N.J. 
Mrs. Steinberg was a retired dental assistant. She was a member of the Rainbow Group; Ladies Auxiliary of Postal Service Branch No. 38. She was Catholic.
She is survived by her husband, Nathan Steinberg of Beverly Hills; two sons, Ralph A. Petti of Basking Ridge, N.J., and Hal Steinberg of Coral Springs, Fla.; one daughter, Carol Pagliaro of Brick, N.J.; and eight grandchildren.

Anna B. Bedwell, 85, of Beverly Hills died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 1998. She was born in Philadelphia, Pa., and came to Beverly Hills one and a half weeks ago from Rockwell, Md. She was a retired seamstress. She was an Episcopalian.
Surviving are one son, Melvin Bedwell of Newportville, Pa.; two daughters, Sandra Bonfrancesco of Levittown, Pa., and Linda Bender of Beverly Hills; one sister, Hazel Schwartz of Beverly Hills; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.

Eugene J. Caron, 84, of Hudson died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 1998, at Columbia Regional Medical Center in Hudson. He was born in Newton, Mass., and moved to Florida in 1962 from New Jersey. Mr. Caron was an electronics engineer for E-Systems in St. Petersburg from 1962-1978. He was a member of St. Martins Episcopal Church, Hudson.
Surviving are his wife, Audrey of Hudson; four sons, William E. of Cairo, Ill., Russell T. of Seminole, Michael J. of Crystal River, and David C. of Wichita, Kan.; one daughter, Rebecca S. Caron of Rochester, Minn.; two sisters, Marie DeMont of Hudson and Ann Quigley of So. Chelmsford, Mass.; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Erminio R. Federico, 98, of Inverness died Thursday, Jan. 22, 1998, in Mariner Health Care of Inverness. Mr. Federico was born in Italy and came to Inverness 24 years ago from East Islip, N.Y., where he retired from the construction industry as a plasterer. He was Catholic. He served in the Italian Armed Forces before coming to America.
Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Jane Postigllone Federico; two sons, John P. (Shirley) Federico of Inverness and Gerald "Mickey" (Marjorie) Federico of New City, N.Y.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

William H. Gilly, 78, of Inglis died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 1998, at Crystal River Health and Rehab Center. He was born to Lula and William Gilly on June 8, 1919, in Florida. He was a lifetime resident of Inglis. He was a retired fisherman.
He is survived by one son, Michael of Inglis; three daughters, Joanne Smith and Patricia Beaver both of Inglis, and Margie Malloy of Ormand Beach; two sisters; one brother; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Dominick Murgolo II, 35, of Dunnellon died Monday, Jan. 19, 1998. He was born in Middletown, N.Y., and came here two years ago from there. Mr. Murgolo was a diesel mechanic for United Sanitation of Ocala. He was Catholic and was a former member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Montgomery, N.Y.
Surviving are his wife, Susan L. Murgolo of Middletown, N.Y.; one son, Anthony J. of Middletown, N.Y.; two daughters, Nicole M. Murgolo and Britney A. Mr. Reed was a retired maintenance worker for the Fowlerville Community Schools. He was a member of the Faith Baptist Church of Homosassa Springs.

He was born to Elizabeth and Leroy Schulte on Sept. 22, 1930, in Baltimore, Md. He moved here from Baltimore, Md., three years ago. He was a self-employed HVAC contractor. He was Catholic.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon L. Schulte of Dunnellon; three sons, Gregory Schulte and Michael Schulte, both of Glen Burnie, Md., and Bill Wilson of Dunnellon; two daughters, Shelly West of Glen Burnie, Md., and Kimberly Niedzielski of Anthony; and five grandchildren.

Born on Sept. 30, 1931, in Bristol, Va., to the late W. Glenn and Corinne (McGuire) Simcox, he came here two years ago from Elkin, N.C. He was a retired sales and serviceman for a dairy company. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean conflict. He was a member of the Floral City Church of Christ.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Aug. 27, 1917, to the late Matthew and Mary Lockner Strawitch, he came here 13 years ago from Lodi, N.J. Mr. Strawitch was a retired book binder for the American Book & Stratford Press Company of New York City. He was a World War II Naval veteran. He was Catholic.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Margaret A. (Meith) Strawitch; one son, Frederick W. Jr. of Pine Bush, N.Y.; four daughters, Maryann Marino of Deer Park, N.Y., Lyndalee Sweeney of Long Island, N.Y., Pennyjane Vitale of Seaford, N.Y., and Gwendolyn Strawitch of Inverness; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Fern Mildred Chapman, 74, of Inverness died Thursday, Jan. 22, 1998, at Mariner Health of Inverness. Born in Detroit, Mich., on June 3, 1923, to Erich and Nina Friske, she came here 12 years ago from Lewiston, Mich. Mrs. Chapman was a retired secretary for the Oakland, Mich., School Personnel Director. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Inverness and Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Frank Chapman; two sons, Roger and Gloria Chapman of Birmingham, Ala., and Wayne and Ann Chapman of Ridge Manor, Fla.; one daughter, Janet and Mike Schmalhurst of Livonia, Mich.; one sister, Elaine and Bob Gardner of Dearborn, Mich.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Stanley ''RIP'' S. Church, 89, of Hernando died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 1998. He was born in Essex, Canada and came to Hernando eight years ago from Brooksville. Mr. Church was a retired maintenance man for the Farmington, Michigan Public School System; a member of the Fraternal Order of Elks, Farmington, Mich.; Switzerland Lodge No. 122, F&AM, Vevay, Ind. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Hernando. He enjoyed his gardening and was a member of Tim Johnson's horticultural classes, Inverness; and was preceded in death by his son, Roland John Church, in 1963.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Hilda Schiffki Church of Hernando; two daughters, Mrs. Christine Johnston, Ms. Gloria Church, both of Inverness; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Marjorie G. Ingram, 71, of Homosassa died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 1998, at her residence. She was born in Niagara Falls, Canada and came here 27 years ago from there. She was a secretary.
Surviving are two sons, Larry K. Ingram of Homosassa and David Pugh of Ontario, Canada; one granddaughter and one grandson.

Barbara Kellam, 81, of Crystal River 
Barbara A. Kellam, 81, of Crystal River died Friday, Jan. 23, 1998, at Seven Rivers Community Hospital. Mrs. Kellam was born in Berkshire, N.Y., to Joseph W. Lynch and Minneola S. Lynch. She came to this area 24 years ago from Honolulu, Hawaii. Mrs. Kellam was a former dietitian in New York and Washington, D.C. She attended Syracuse University and graduated from New York State Institute of Dietetics. Mrs. Kellam held memberships with Seven Rivers Golf and Country Club, Citrus County Audubon Society and Ladies Auxiliary of Retired Officers Association of Citrus County.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Lt. Col. Lawrence M. Kellam, (USA-Ret.); beloved twins, Lawrence M. Kellam Jr. of Wayland, Mass., and Diane J. Carter of Knoxville, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.

Frank Earl Adams, 81, of Inverness died Friday, Jan. 23, 1998, at Mariner Health of Inverness. Mr. Adams was born in Chaffee, W.Va. and came here seven years ago from Spring Hill. He was a retired Heavy Equipment Operator and Mechanic for the Montgomery (Maryland) Department of Transportation. 
Mr. Adams was a member of the Zion Methodist Church, the International Union of Operating Engineers, the East Gate Masonic Lodge and a Charter Member of the Bedford Road Optimist Club in Cumberland Maryland. 
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Inverness.
Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Adams of Inverness; two sons, William L. of Silver Springs, Md.; and John E. of Charlotte Hall, Md.; one daughter; Cheryl Daniel of Seminole; two sisters, Lena Long of Ormond Beach and Ruth Comp of Berkley Springs, W.Va.; and eight grandchildren.

Eleanor Haislop, 83, of Inverness died Saturday, Jan. 24, 1998. 
Mrs. Haislop was born in Kennedy, N.Y., and came to Inverness 13 years ago from Tampa. She was a retired secretary for First Federal Savings and Loan. She was Presbyterian.
Surviving are her brother, Grant Freay of Jamestown, N.Y,. and her sister, Evelyn Stagg of Inverness.

Karen Godwin, 55, of Homosassa
Karen Godwin, 55, of Homosassa died Friday, Jan. 23, 1998. Mrs. Godwin was born in North Washington, Pa., and came to Homosassa two years ago from Saranac Lake, N.Y. She was an accountant and a member of Women of the Moose in Saranac Lake, N.Y. She was Methodist.
Surviving are her husband, Marvin E. Godwin of Homosassa; two sons, Louis Ratelle Jr. of Plattsburg, N.Y.; and Robert Ratelle of Bloomingdale, N.Y.; two daughters, Leigh Anne Taylor of Greenville, S.C.; and Debra Lynn Ratelle of Lake Placid, N.Y.; three stepdaughters, Michele D.Godwin of Austin, Texas, Lori D. King of Bedford, Texas and Aisling D. Godwin of Nashville, Tenn.; two brothers, William E. Wenner of Saranac Lake, N.Y. and Robert Kennedy of Butler, Pa.; one sister, Wilma J. Hill of Homosassa and 10 grandchildren.

John Judge, 76,of Crystal River
John ''Jack'' O. Judge 76, of Crystal River died Friday, Jan. 23, 1998, at Munroe Regional Medical Center of Ocala. He was born in Hadley, Mass., and came to Citrus County 25 years ago from North Hampton, Mass. Mr. Judge was a retired carpenter, and a World War II Coast Guard Veteran, member DAV Chapter 139 of Homosassa. He was Catholic.
Surviving are his son, Donald P. of Leeds, Mass.; daughter, Cheryl Paradiso of Westford, Mass.; brother, Norman D. of Homosassa Springs; and four grandchildren.

Ruth Wood, 76, of Lake Panasoffkee
Ruth Eleanor Wood, 76, of Lake Panasoffkee died Thursday, Jan. 22, 1998, at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness. 
Mrs. Wood was born in Elyria, Ohio and came here 18 years ago from Southgate, Mich. 
She was a retired Credit Analyst for Sears & Roebuck. She was Presbyterian.
Surviving are four daughters, Dianna Leedy of Taylor, Mich.; Nancy Schroeder of Lake Panasoffkee; Patricia Webb of Southgate, Mich; Judith Glazewski of Wyandotte, Mich.; one brother, William Jacobs of Livonia, Mich.; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
