James W. Ward 
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Lawrence Church for James Watterson Ward, 76, of Elm Street, who died Aug. 9. He was the husband of Patricia Roche Ward. He was a retired tool and die worker with Union Carbide. He was an Army veteran.

Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Katherine Desanti of West Haven; sons Howard Ward of Orange and John Ward of West Haven; and nine grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Lawrence School Fund, 231 Main St., West Haven. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery. The West Haven Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Marie Q. Paturzo 
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Paul's Church for Marie Quagliano Paturzo, 69, of 81 Yates St., who died July 26. She was the widow of Joseph V. Paturzo. Prior to her retirement in 1991, she was a paraprofessional for the Board of Education.

She is survived by daughters Denise Vrettos-Verdis in Greece and Tina Klemenz of West Haven; sons, Joseph V. Jr. and Robert Paturzo of West Haven; a brother, Frank Quagliano of East Haven; seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild. She was predeceased by brothers, Charles and Thomas Quagliano. Burial was in All Saints Cemetery. The Porto Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Grace F. Cardone 
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Anthony's Church, New Haven, for Grace Fraleigh Cardone, 78, of 48C Bayshore Drive, who died July 28. She was the widow of Mario Cardone.

She is survived by a daughter, Jenny Cava of West Haven; sons, James L. Cardone of West Haven, Mario Cardone, Jr. of New Haven, John Cardone of Middletown and George Cardone of Branford; sisters, Louise Martorella of Milford and Margaret Sheehan of FL; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Ann Fraleigh. Burial was in St. Lawrence Cemetery. The West Haven Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Furman W. Romans, Jr. 
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Our Lady of Victory Church for Furman W. Romans Jr., 60, of 76 Holcomb St., who died July 28. He was the husband of Deanne Heidel Romans. He was a technician for Coffey's TV Repair Shop and also worked for RCA and GE before retiring in 1990.

Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Catherine M. Miller of Milford; a son, Furman W. Romans III of Hamden; a sister, Marilyn Romans of Branford; and four grandchildren. Burial was in St. Lawrence Cemetery. The West Haven Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Ada Coe 
A graveside service was held for Ada "Grace" Coe, 92,of 200 Oak St., who died July 29. She was the widow of Charles L. Coe.

She leaves a son, David Coe of Milford; two grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery. The Beecher & Bennett-Seth Taylor Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Arthur Molleur 
The West Haven Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for Arthur Molleur, 79, of Harborview Manor, who died July 29. He was a processor for Star Distributors retiring in 1989. He was an Army veteran.

He leaves brothers Omer and Marcel Molleur of West Haven, and a sister, Alice Vaile of CA. He was predeceased by a sister, Eleanor Dattilo, and brothers Leo, Lawrence and Charles Molleur. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Eleanor Riley 
The West Haven Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for Eleanor Riley, 68, of Canter Street, who died July 30. She worked for the state Bureau of Rehabilitation Services, retiring in1997. She was an Air Force veteran.

She leaves a sister, Irene George, in Alabama. She was predeceased by a brother, Walter Riley, and a sister, Evelyn Rile.

Martha S. Demler 
The West Haven Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for Martha Shaw Demler, 90, of 200 oak St., who died July 27. She was the widow of Charles Demler.

She leaves a niece, Grace Hendricks of West Haven. She was predeceased by a son, Joseph Demler. 
Juliette Y.L. Cubanski 
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Lawrence Church for Juliette Yvette LaMothe Cubanski, 79, of 151 White Street. She was the wife of John Cubanski.

She also leaves daughters Ann Tessitore of Bethany, Juliette Carmody of West Haven, Susan Traynor of PA and Mary Griffin in Houston; sons Stanley and Norman Cubanski of CA, John Cubanski of CA, George Cubanski of NY, Lawrence Cubanski of CA, James Cubanski of Glastonbury and Stephen Cubanski of New Haven; sisters Marcella Salpietro of SC, Rita Casey and Lillian Pothier of Lisbon, and Rejeanne Thornton of Norwich and Carmen Suprenant of Norwich; 20 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by brothers Gerard, Norman and Richard LaMothe.

Michael O'Bymachow 
A Memorial Mass was celebrated at St. Lawrence Church for Michael O'Bymachow, 72, of 233 First Ave., who died July 31. He was the widower of Marilyn O'Bymachow. He was a civil engineer for Nowakowski, O'Bymachow and Kane, retiring in 1994. He was a Marine veteran.

He leaves daughters Joe Ann Robinson of Meriden, Jacqueline O'Bymachow of Manchester; a son, David O'Bymachow of Orange; sisters, Grace O'Bymachow of West Haven and Marion Wilcox of North Branford; brothers Joseph O'Bymachow of CA, and Richard O'Bymachow of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Isles; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Florence O'Bymachow and a brother, Charles O'Bymachow.

Louise DeCato 
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Anthony's Church for Louise Signore DeCato, 74, of 600 Campbell Ave., who died July 20. She was the widow of Andrew DeCato, Sr. She retired from Sargent & Co. after 26 years.

She is survived by a son, Andrew DeCato, Jr. of East Haven; daughters Dolly Lanci and Regina DeCato Jr. of East Haven; brothers, Angelo Louis Signore of West Haven and Joseph Signore of New Haven; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Burial was in St. Lawrence Cemetery. The Keenan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. 
Mary Somppi 
The New Haven Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements for Mary Somppi, 87, of 310 Terrace Ave., who died July 20. She was the widow of John E. Somppi. She had worked for Sargent Manufacturing Co. She leaves a sister, Stella Gropf of Seattle.

Margaret Damico 
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Paul's Church for Margaret "Marge" Damico, 85, of 351 Front Ave., who died July 23. She was the wife of John Damico. She worked for United Elastic for many years.

Besides her husband, she leaves a son, John "Jack" Damico of North Branford; daughters Kathy Healy of Bethany and Marge Damico-Moschel of NY; brothers Joseph Camerato of New Haven, John "Sonny" Camerato of Milford and Albert "Scrap" Camerato of West Haven; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Don Camerato.

John DiLauro 
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Lawrence Church for John "Red" DiLauro, 87, of 23 Lakeview Ave., who died July 22. He was the widower of Faye Sparago DiLauro. He was the former owner/partner of Columbus Auto Body, Statewide Auto Appraisers and DiLauro Brothers Auto Body. He was an Army veteran.

He leaves a son, Vincent DiLauro of Trumbull; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers Anthony Gaetano and Ralph DiLauro.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Paul's Church for Rose T. Juliano Celone, 84, of 2 Homeside Ave., who died July 24. She was the widow of Louis A. "Mush" Celone Sr.

She leaves sons Louis A. Celone, Jr. of West Haven and Nicholas G. Celone of Wallingford; sisters Ann Branzell, Margaret Flynn and Susan Smith of Hamden, Patricia Slocum of Branford and Lillian Dube of Cheshire; brothers Joseph Juliano and George Juliano of Hamden; and two grandchildren. She was predeceased by brothers Anthony and John Juliana and a sister, Lee Heffernan. Burial was in St. Lawrence Cemetery. The West Haven Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Robert G. Slattery 
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Our Lady of Victory Church for Robert G. Slattery, 98, of Rockefeller Avenue, who died July 24. He was the widower of Dorothy Hunt Slattery. He was a lawyer and a US marshal for the New Haven department of justice, retiring in 1960 after 25 years.

He leaves sons Robert Slattery of Madison and Paul Slattery of Hamden; a daughter, Sheilah Slattery of Milford; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by sisters Alice, Ruth, Ann and Mary Slattery.

Antoinette Z. Bruno 
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Paul's Church for Antoinette "Do" Zullo Bruno, 81, of 222 W. Walk, who died July 25. She was the widow of Aldo "Lefty" Bruno. She was a seamstress for Chevron Ties for 10 years, retiring in 1985.

She leaves a son, Richard Bruno of West Haven; a daughter, Carol Gianelli of North Branford; sisters, Margaret "Maggie" Denos and Theresa Monaco of West Haven and Angelina Biscardi of Orange; a brother, Nicholas Zullo of FL; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Robert Biagio Bruno; brothers Anthony and Gennaro Zullo; and a sister, Margaret Guarino. Burial was in St. Lawrence Cemetery. Julia K. Kaliszewski 
The Beecher & Bennett-Seth Taylor Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for Julia Kelly Kaliszewski, 85, of Terrace Avenue, who died July 25. She was the widow of Joseph F. Kaliszewski.

She leaves daughters Mary Ann Jackson and Alice-Cookie Benson of West Haven; and two grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Mary C. Kelly; and brothers Fred, Joseph, Thomas and George Kelly.

She is survived by a daughter, Mary Carol Brancato of West Have; sisters Rita Kundla of Philadelphia, Dolores Kenney of FL, and Marie Lisiewski in New Jersey; a brother Hugh Bowen of Lancaster, PA; and two grandsons. She was predeceased by sisters Catherine Leslie, Peggy Bowen and Helen Dunn.

Edward A Jarosz 
The West Haven Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for Edward A. Jarosz, 76, of 200 Shingle Hill Road, who died July 26. He was the husband of Anne Wnekowicz Jarosz. He was a self-employed slipcover maker, prior to his retirement. He was a Navy veteran.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters Carol Kelley of West Haven and Cathy Jarosz of NY; a sister, Irene O'Hara of Stamford; and three grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Jean Nowinski; and a brother, Walter Jarosz.

She is survived by daughters Patricia Contaxis of Milford, Karen Crego, Nancy Darling and Marie Corriveau of East Haven, Rose Sullivan of West Haven, Cindy Mitola of Shelton, Joan Gianotti of Branford and Kathy Reynolds of Guilford; stepdaughters Diane Buckholz of Seymour and Debby Tyler of FL; sisters Lee Kelly of NY, Barbara Burnham of New Haven and Sandra Howell of FL; a brother, Donald Sullivan of Killingworth; 30 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, William Sullivan, Jr., and a grandson.
