A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Lawrence Church for Raymond Carney, 77, of 152 Elm Street, who died July 10. He retired from the Knights of Columbus where he was a mail clerk.

He leaves brothers Harry T. Carney of East Haven and James G. Carney of Orange; sisters Teresa Carney Marsell of North Branford and Marie C. Denny of Hamden.

Marino E. Bachiocchi

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Our Lady of Victory Church for Marino Emil Bachiocchi, 93, formerly of Milton Ave., who died July 8. He was the widower of Candida Castracane Bachiocchi. He was a construction supervisor for Fusco Corp. until his retirement in the early 1970’s.

He leaves a daughter, Frances Wood of Hamden; a son, Edward Bachiocchi of Oxford and eight grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Linda McHugh; a brother, Mauro Bachiocchi and a sister, Marie Lattanzi.

George Tommassi

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Lawrence Church for George Tommassi, 89, of 413 Union Ave., who died July 12. He was the widower of Wilhelmina Integlia Tommassi. He was a truck driver for L. Cicerelli & Sons Trucking of Hamden; a foreman for Y & O Coal Co. of Stratford and a permittee of the Captain’s Keg Liquor Store of Stratford, until retiring in 1989.

He is survived by a daughter, Barbara Fucci of North Branford; sons William Tomassi of East Haven and Goerge Tomassi of Milford; brothers Adolph Thomas of West Haven and John Thomas of Meriden; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by sisters, Rose Caporale, Mary Circerelli, Tillie Hyle and Rae Perotti and brother Ralph Thomas and Nicholas Tommassi.

James Perry

The Curvin K. Council Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for James Perry, 81. Of Orford Street, who died July 13. He was the husband of Jannette Perry. He worked for the Farrell Corp. in Derby. He was an Army veteran.

Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Desiree Soltau of Milwaukee, Wis., a stepson, Tyrone Douglas of West Haven; a stepdaughter, Gail Douglas of West Haven; six grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers Lucius, Howard, Charlie and Kizer Perry and sisters Esther Rice and Lazira Perry.

John J. Quinn, Sr.

The West Haven Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for John J. Quinn, Sr., 74, of 464 Third Ave., who died July 14. He was the husband of Carol Smallman Quinn. He worked for Armstrong Tire for 21 years, retiring in 1975. He was an Army and Navy veteran.

Besides his wife, he leaves daughters Charlene Quinn of New Haven and Colleen Quinn and Connie Faulkner of West Haven; a son, John J. Quinn Jr. of West Haven; sisters Liz Cook and Nellie Wentowrth of West Haven; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Pamela Rogers; brothers William, Joseph and Francis Quinn; sisters Margaret Abt, Anna Bosco and Mary Allen; and a grandson, Robert Daley.

Vincent F. Milano

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Lawrence Church for Vincent F. Milano, 73, of 42 Ashford St., who died July 14. He was the husband of Susan Tomaso Milano. He was a member of the International Union of Bricklayers-Allied Craftsworkers, retiring in 1992. He was an Army veteran.

Besides his wife, he leaves daughters Rosemary M. Grive of Milford and Gina Marie Massicott of Bristol; sons Vincent Milano Jr. of NJ and Dr. Michael Milano of TX; sisters Philomina Milano of West Haven and Susan Maturo of North Haven; brothers George Milano of West Haven and Peter Milano of Orange; and five grandchildren. He was predeceased by sisters Nancy Harvey and Elvira DePoto and brothers Ralph and Gerald Milano.

He was employed by Jake’s Auto of Waterbury and Atwood Buick of New Haven until retiring. He was an Army veteran.

Besides his wife, he leaves sons Stanley Hershonik, Jr. of Hamden and Peter Hershonic of Coventry; a daughter, Loraine Hershonik Goldign of New York City; a sister, Helen Hershonik of New Haven; and two grandchildren. Alexandra Boruch

The Riverview Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for Alexandra “Sandy” Boruch, 57, of Second Ave., who died July 18. She was the daughter of Zinovia Kudrikoff Boruch of Shelton and the late Andrew Boruch. She worked more than 25 years at the Hospital of St. Raphael admitting office.

Emily C. Occhineri

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. John Vianney Church for Emily Codianne Occhineri, 86, of 19 Carroll St., who died July 19. She was the widow of Frank Occhineri.

She is survived by a daughter, Angela Benoit of West Haven; a son, Victor Occhineri of West Haven; a sister, Rose DeMatteo of East Haven; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Frank Carbone

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Our Lady of Victory Church for Frank Carbone, 84, of 151 Woodvale Road, who died July 11. He was the husband of Marguerite Nutile Carbone. He was a truck driver for Schiavone Scrap Iron and Metal Co. for several years prior to his retirement.

Mafalda L. Ruggiero

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Louis Church for Mafalda “Mae” Labagnara Ruggiero, 72, of 28 Ellyn Drive, who died July 6. She was the wife of William P. Ruggiero. Prior to her retirement in 1998, she was a seamstress for Robby Len Swimsuit Fashions in New Haven for 43 years.

Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Roseanne D’Ambrosio of West Haven; a son, William J. Ruggiero of East Haven; a sister, Olga Labagnara of New Haven; a brother, Joseph Labanaro of North Haven; and six grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Aurora Labagnara. Burial was in St. Lawrence Cemetery. The Porto Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Carmela S. D’Amato

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. John Vianney Church for Carmela Sega D’Amato, 88, of 186 Atwater St., who died July 7. She was the widow of Leopold D’Amato. She was a retired seamstress.

She leaves daughters Frances Anthony Franco of Westbrook, Jacqueline Lawrence Stacy of West Haven and Barbara Hubert Larrivee of Waterbury; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by brothers John, Joseph and Louis Sega, and sisters Mary Violante, Antoinette Capone, Eleanor Ippolitto, Anna Dantuono and Louise Dattilo. Burial was in St. Lawrence Cemetery. Pauline Paradise

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Louis Church for Pauline Paradise, 78, of 12 Mountain View Road, who died July 7. She worked for SNET for many years before retiring.

She leaves sisters Catherine Paradise, Louise Fiore and Antoinette Corraro of West Haven; and brothers Anthony Paradise of Cheshire and James Paradise, Jr. of Suffield.

A service was held at First Methodist Church for Harold H. Hunt, 92, of 111 Second Ave., who died July 8. He was the husband of Myrtle Denton Hunt. He was retired from the former High Standard Manufacturing Co. He was an Air Force veteran.

Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Gary Hunt of West Haven; a sister, Edna Eramo of Hamden; and three grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Ethel Graddick and brothers William and Raymond Hunt.

Helen H. Bouffard

Services were held at the West Haven Funeral Home for Helen Hubler Bouffard, 90, of 477 Platt Ave., who died July 12. She was the widow of Francis F. Bouffard. She worked at Sargent Co. and later at Edal Co., retiring as an assembler.

She is survived by a daughter, Claire Gentile of West Haven; sons, Richard E. Bouffard, Sr. of West Haven and Donald A. Bouffard of East Haven; a sister, Winifred Hubler of Hamden; 12 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Edward “Sonny” Bouffard; two grandsons David and Cleve Bouffard; and a brother, Edward Hubler. Burial was in Beaverdale Cemetery.

Emily F.R. Ascenzia

A service was held at St. John-by-the-Sea Church for Emily Florence Rockett Ascenzia, 84, who died July 10. She was the widow of Joseph Ascenzia.

She is survived by daughters, Joanne Ascenzia of Branford, Karen Marini of Guilford; tow grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was predeceased by a brother, Raymond Rocklott; and a sister, Marguerite Greim.

She was very active in the American Legion Auxiliary, serving as Past Department President, Past National Historian, Past President of Orange Unite 127, and a former Chairman of the Girls State. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Our Lady of Victory Church for Kevin W. Burns, 48, of 112 Bellevue Ave., who died June 17. He was a son of Pauline Raucci Burns of West Haven and the late William J. Burns. He was a U.S. Postal Service letter carrier in Orange.

Besides his mother, he leaves a sister, Debra B. Masella of Milford and brother, Michael D. Burns of NY and Scott D. Burns of Fairfield. Burial was in St. Bernard’s Cemetery. The West Haven Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Aurelia C. Cole

A funeral service was celebrated at Christ Church for Aurelia Ciccosanti Cole, 90, of Maple Street, who died June 22. She was the widow of Edward S. Cole, Sr. She worked in the cafeteria at Carrigan Middle School before retiring.

She leaves a daughter, Evelyn Peschell of West Haven; a son, Edward S. Cole, Jr. of West Haven; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Mildred Sullivan; brothers Ernest Ciccosanti and Edward Ciccosanty and a granddaughter, Colleen Sullivan.

Raymond Herbin, Jr.

The West Haven Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for Raymond Herbin, Jr., 70, of King Street, who died June 26. He was the husband of Ollie Steele Herbin, and a son of Raymond Herbin, Sr. of NC, and the late Eva Moore Herbin .He was a machine operator for Ross & Roberts Co. until retiring.

Other survivors include daughters Alfreida Summers, of New York, and Selma Herbin of NC; a son, James Steele of PA; sisters Elsie Reese, Jacqueline Kern and Louise Benton, all of NC; brothers George and William Herbin of NC: five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Philip E. Mancini, Jr.

A Mass was held at Holy Infant Church of Orange for Judge Philip E. Mancini, Jr., 79, of 463 Glen Devon Drive South, who died Saturday, June 30. He was the husband of Lillian Lechtenberg Mancini.

He was a trial judge referee of the Superior Court in Derby for 10 years. Before that, he was a Superior Court judge from 1978 to his retirement in 1991; a judge of the Court of Common Court judge from 1969 to 1975; and a prosecutor in the New Haven judicial system from 1961-1969. He had been in private practice earlier in his career.

Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Linda Bodnar of South Bend, Ind; a son, Philip Mancini III of Guilford; a sister, Henrietta “Lol” Schmidt, in FL; and six grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Frances Mulqueen and a brother, James Mancini.

Burial was in East Side Burial Grounds in Westville. The Iovanne Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Michael J. Massarro

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Paul’s Church for Michael J. Massarro, 19, of 8 Chris-John Circle, who died July 1. He was the son of Allingtown Fire Department Lt. Peter V. Massaro, Sr., and Karen Pagani Massaro of West Haven. He was a self-employed disc jockey and a 2000 graduate of Notre Dame High School.

Besides his parents, he leaves a sister, Carolann Adamczyk of North Branford; a brother, Peter V. Massaro Jr. of West Haven; his paternal grandmother, Olga Massaro of West Haven and his maternal grandparents Edward and Philmena Pagani of Coconut Creek, FL. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Peter Massaro.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Stanislaus Church for Jennet (Jean) Przybylowski, who died July 3. She was the widow of Vincent Kalentek.

She is survived by sisters, Helen Gross and Wanda Mauro of East Haven; brothers John Przybylowski of Hamden and Edward Przybylowski of West Haven; and nine nieces and nephews. She was employed by Olin Corp. for 36 years until retiring.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Our Lady of Victory Church for Josephine Chirico Perillo, who died July 2. She was the widow of Achille (Red Kelly) Perillo.

She is survived by daughters, Diane Panzo of East Haven, Judith Perillo of West Haven, and Beverly Perillo of Cal.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a niece. She was predeceased by a sister, Louise Ricigliano.

Theresa Filipelli

The Keenan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for Theresa “Terry” Filipelli, 73, of 59 Phillips Terrace, who died July 3. She was the widow of Samuel Filipelli. She was a retired real estate broker and the owner of the former New England Realty.

She is survived by a daughter, Dianna Morton of West Haven; a sister, Mary Filipelli of West Haven; a brother, John Meneo of Hamden and a granddaughter. She was predeceased by sisters Antoinette Vitale and Lena and Josephine Melillo, and a brother, Michael Meneo.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Our Lady of Victory Church for Frederick M. Marini, 74, of 116 High Meadow Lane, who died June 24. He was the husband of Ann Marchetti Marini. He was a retired supervisor for United Illuminating, where he worked for 43 years. He was a Navy veteran.

Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Patricia Ann Lujick of Hamden; a son, Paul Marini of Orange; and a grandson. Burial was in St. Lawrence Cemetery. The Keenan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Harry L. Patchell

The West Haven Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for Harry Leigh Patchell, 79, of 74 Church St., who died June 23. He was the husband of Eleanor Lindsay Patchell. He was a firefighter for 35 years, retiring in 1976 as assistant chief of the West Shore Fire Department. He was an Army veteran.

Besides his wife, he leaves daughters Joan Salvato of Milford and Robin Beelsford and Kim Patchell of West Haven; sons Harry and Charles Patchell of North Branford, David Patchell of Thomaston, Mark Patchell of West Haven and Robbie Patchell of Branford; a sister, Ruth Hunt of West Haven; brothers James Patchell of Milford and Kenneth Patchell of Hamden; 15 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. He was predeceased by a daughter, Carol Ann Patchell. Burial was private.

Angelo Salvati

A funeral was celebrated at St. Barbara’s Orthodox Church for Angelo Salvati, 70, of 3221 First Ave., who died June 23. He was the husband of Georgia Salvati. He was an auto mechanic for many years.

Besides his wife, he leaves daughters Rosemarie Zitto of North Haven, Lisa Yulo of Branford and Mary Lou Salvati of West Haven; sisters Mary DuFault and Geraldine Morin of West Haven; brothers Joseph, Carl and Albert Salvati of West Haven, Pasquel Salvati of North Branford and Louis Salvati of Chicago, two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by sons Michael Salvatore Salvati; a grandson, Keith Salvati, and brothers John and George Salvati. Burial was in All Saints Cemetery. The West Haven Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Paul J. Vaughan

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Our Lady of Victory Church for Paul J. Vaughan, formerly of West Haven, who died June 19. He was the husband of Dolores Vaughan, and a son of Anne Vaughan of Orange and the late John F. Vaughan. He was a security guard for Bozley Co.

Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by a daughter, Lisa Marie Vaughan of West Haven; a sister, Anne Vaughan of Orange; and brothers John Vaughan of Orange and Mark Vaughan of Scotland, CT. He was predeceased by a brother, James Vaughan. Burial was in St. Lawrence Cemetery. The West Haven Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Aurelia C. Cole

A funeral service was celebrated at Christ Church for Aurelia Ciccosanti Cole, 90, of Maple Street, who died June 22. She was the widow of Edward S. Cole, Sr. She worked in the cafeteria at Carrigan Middle School before retiring.

She leaves a daughter, Evelyn Peschell of West Haven; a son, Edward S. Cole, Jr. of West Haven; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Mildred Sullivan; brothers Ernest Ciccosanti and Edward Ciccosanty and a granddaughter, Colleen Sullivan.

Memorial donations may be made to Christ Episcopal Church Memorial Fund, 28 Church St., West Haven 06516. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery. The West Haven Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Raymond Herbin, Jr.

The West Haven Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for Raymond Herbin, Jr., 70, of King Street, who died June 26. He was the husband of Ollie Steele Herbin, and a son of Raymond Herbin, Sr. of NC, and the late Eva Moore Herbin .He was a machine operator for Ross & Roberts Co. until retiring.

Other survivors include daughters Alfreida Summers, of New York, and Selma Herbin of NC; a son, James Steele of PA; sisters Elsie Reese, Jacqueline Kern and Louise Benton, all of NC; brothers George and William Herbin of NC: five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery.
