NORMAN L. ELLIS 
Mr. Ellis, 75, a Colorado Springs resident, died Aug. 21, 2000, in Salt Lake City, as a result of complications following surgery. He was a retired pilot and engineer. He served as a pilot in the Air Force during World War II and the Korean War. 
Mr. Ellis was born Dec. 11, 1924, in Stockton, Ala., to Henry Marvin and Mattie (Norman) Ellis, who are deceased. He was married April 29, 1975, to Paula Moonbeam. 
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Susan Ellis Wild and Danielle Ellis McDonald; a brother, Wesley C.; two sisters, Carolyn Ellis Lipscomb and Lamar Ellis Gilson; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Howard; a sister, Gay Smyer; and a granddaughter. 
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Korean-American United Methodist Church, 4550 N. Carefree Circle. 
LUCILLE MARY RUTHERFORD ZYLKOWSKI 
Mrs. Zylkowski, 92, died Aug. 22, 2000, in Colorado Springs. She retired as a linotype operator from the Chicago Tribune after 25 years. 
Mrs. Zylkowski was born Aug. 29, 1907, in Neenah, Wis. She was married June 6, 1927, to Joseph Francis Zylkowski, who is deceased. 
She is survived by three sons, Francis Joseph, Jan Paul and Peter Carl; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, John Thaddeus. 
Visitation will be in Marinette, Wis. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marinette. Burial will be at Forest Home Cemetery, Marinette. Thielen Funeral Home, Marinette, (715) 732-2151, is handling arrangements. 

RETIRED LT. COL. ERIC A. WILLIAMS 
Mr. Williams, 72, died Aug. 23, 2000, in Divide. He retired from the Army after 20 years of service, achieving the rank of lieutenant colonel. 
Mr. Williams was born Feb. 6, 1928, in Quitman, Ga., to Burey and Gartrell (McRae) Williams, who are deceased. He was married Dec. 8, 1950, to Ellen Anne Harrison. 
He is survived by his wife; a son, Steve; two daughters, Nancy and Lynn; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. 
Services will be at 5 p.m. Sunday at Mountain Memorial, 51 County Road 5, Divide, 687-0333. Burial will be private.

DESTINY ROSE ESTES 
Destiny, infant daughter of Ben and Rhonda Estes, died Aug. 22, 2000, at a local hospital.

WALTER C. CARLSON 
Mr. Carlson 94, died Aug. 23, 2000, at a local care center. He was a retired tool and die maker. 
Mr. Carlson was born June 29, 1906, in Rockford, Ill., to Walfred and Alma (Magnuson) Carlson, who are deceased. He was married May 17, 1941, to Joyce J. Russow. 
He is survived by his wife; a son, Darwin; a daughter Diana Schauger; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister and a grandson.

Mrs. Benjamin was born April 20, 1915, in Chicago, to Battista and Filomena (Collu) Pugno, who are deceased. She was married May 30, 1936, to Kenneth A. Benjamin, who is deceased. 
She is survived by a daughter, Lauren; a brother, Lawrence Pugno; a sister, Amelia Anderson; and a grandchild. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Emma Donahue; and a granddaughter.

Mrs. Diringer was born Oct. 12, 1927, in Halstead, Kan., to Albert and Alice (Chappel) Winsky, who are deceased. She was married Dec. 31, 1946, to Phillip A. Diringer. 
She is survived by her husband; four daughters, Susie Garber, Deanna Moore, Judy Diringer and Kelli Patrick; three brothers, Johnnie Winsky, Richard Winsky and Orville Winsky; a sister, Vera Mae Williams; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Covington, 26, died Sept. 30, 2000, in Colorado Springs. She was a service representative for MCI. 
Mrs. Covington was born May 7, 1974, in Fairfax, Va., to David W. and Tina J. Jones. She was married Dec. 30, 1994, to Andy Covington. 
She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Katelyn M.; her parents; and a brother, David Jones.

RETIRED LT. COL. ROY EDWARD SHELTON 
Lt. Col. Shelton, 80, died Oct. 5, 2000, in Colorado Springs. He retired from the Army Reserve after 30 years of service. 
Lt. Col. Shelton was born Feb. 10, 1920, in Witt, Ill., to Thomas and Ruth (Powis) Shelton, who are deceased. He was married June 13, 1979, to Ida Belle Wernlein. 
He is survived by his wife; a son, Thomas Roy; a daughter, Melody Ellen Webb, a stepson, Frank Allen Inzer; a stepdaughter, Connie L. Doty; and several grandchildren.

DIANE "DODIE" FORD 
Dodie, 43, died Oct. 4, 2000, in Colorado Springs. She was owner of All Racing Accommodations and a self-employed travel agent who booked housing and rooming for NASCAR and IRL. She graduated from Manitou Springs High School in 1974. 
Dodie was born Dec. 8, 1956, in Galveston, Texas. 
She is survived by a son, Aaron James; a daughter, Stephanie Kay; her former husband, friend and father of her children, Charles Ford; her father, Lee O. Hoover; her mother, Mavis (Nelson) Orr; her stepfather, James Orr; two brothers, Leslie "Les" Hoover and Scott Orr; three sisters, Karen Hackman, Linda Rhodes and Pixie Berman; and four uncles, Leslie Mack Hoover, W.C. "Tom" Nelson, H.E. "Herman" Nelson and H.E. "Lu" Nelson.

JAMES R. "SONNY" BELL JR. 
Mr. Bell, 75, died Oct. 4, 2000, at his home in Colorado Springs. He retired as a technical draftsman from CIG after 38 years. He was one of Jehovah's Witnesses. 
Mr. Bell was born May 3, 1925, in Starkville, Miss., to James R. Sr. and Hattie L. (Rodgers) Bell, who are deceased. He was married Jan. 14, 1950, to Pauline O. Brown. 
He is survived by his wife; a son, James R. III; two daughters, Marilyn L. Webb and Monica L. Levitt; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dr. Frank Elliott.

Mr. Pate, 65, died Oct. 4, 2000, at his home in Security after a long illness. He worked at US West for 36 years and served four years on the USS Intrepid in the Navy. 
Mr. Pate was born Nov. 8, 1934, in Springer, N.M., to Frederick Sr. and Margaret (Winstead) Pate, who are deceased. He was married Oct. 22, 1960, to Ethel M. Hamon.

He is survived by two daughters, Vicki and Sara; his step-parents, Jack and Darlene Grinolds; two brothers, Dale Rawlings and Dwayne Rawlings; a sister, Pam Rawlings; three stepbrothers, John, Dan and Dale; three stepsisters, Patty, Sandy and Judy; and three grandchildren.

Mr. Kaufmann was born June 12, 1918, in Fairview, Mont., to John and Mary (Owens) Kaufmann, who are deceased. He was married July 27, 1942, to Beatrice James, who is deceased. 
He is survived by a son, James of Colorado Springs; a brother, Richard of San Leandro, Calif.; two sisters, Leona Redgrave of Edwardsburg, Mich., and Aggie Fulton of Hayward, Calif.; and four grandchildren.  
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Jackson; a brother; and a sister.

Mrs. Heinz was born Sept. 20, 1943, in Richland Center, Wis., to Norris M. and Leona M. (Jacobson) Jacobson. Her father is deceased. She was married Sept. 19, 1964, to Ronald R. Heinz. 
She is survived by her husband; a son, Scott A.; a daughter, Tammy L. Koretoff; her mother; a brother, Norris Lee Jacobson; a twin brother, Myron Jacobson; and five grandchildren.
