Mrs. Woods was born Dec. 30, 1928, in Milwaukee. She was married July 23, 1947, in Castle Rock to Richard E. Woods, who is deceased.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda Baca and Diann Davids; a brother, Wallace Randall; three sisters, Joyce Hanson, Lois Field and Charolette Melter; and six grandchildren.

DANNY WARD THEIS
DANNY WARD THEIS, 53, died Jan. 25, 1999, at a local hospital. He was a free-lance writer for magazines and newspapers and served in the Marine Corps.
Danny was born Oct. 12, 1945, in Edmonton, Alberta.
He is survived by a son, Christopher; his parents, Ward and Eloise; a brother, Howard; a sister, Donna Haanan; and one granddaughter.

VERLENE CARPENTER, 76, died Jan. 25, 1999, at a care center in Simla. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Carpenter was born July 19, 1922, in Troy, Kan. She was married Feb. 16, 1946, to Forest B. Carpenter, who is deceased.
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

ELENA DIAZ CAMAYA GRIFFE, 70, died Jan. 24, 1999, at a local care center. She was a retired licensed practical nurse.
Elena was born March 22, 1928, in Pulung Cacutud, Philippines.
She is survived by four sons, Josephino Diaz, Harold Griffe Jr., Rudolph Griffe and Jimmie Griffe; three daughters, Maria Froning, Angela Basquez and JoAnn Sayed; three sisters, Juanita Camaya, Maria Camaya and Leja Camaya; 21 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

KENNETH B. JOYCE
KENNETH B. JOYCE, 82, died Jan. 25, 1999, at his home in Colorado Springs. He was a retired insurance broker and retired as a lieutenant colonel in the Air Force after serving 25 years.
Mr. Joyce was born Dec. 11, 1916, in Lancaster, Pa. He was married Dec. 27, 1973, to Elizabeth A. Collins.
He is survived by his wife; four sons, Kenneth G.B. Joyce, Stuart W. Joyce, Christopher S. Joyce and David R. Williams; two daughters, Debra Dewey and Leslie Shacklette; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

LUTHER CLIFTON "CLIFF" MARTIN, 89, died Jan. 27, 1999, at a local care center. He was employed by Safeway Stores for 43 years before his retirement in 1972.
Mr. Martin was born Nov. 2, 1909, in Green City, Mo. He was married Dec. 21, 1934, to Fae Vandruff.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Ronald; a daughter, Barbara J. Blanton; a brother, Robert; two sisters, Reva Warner and Marjorie Morgan; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

GEORGE FREDERIC "FRITS" LUCARDIE, 76, died Jan. 25, 1999, at a local care center. He was a retired housekeeping director for Penrose Hospital and served in the Dutch military during World War II.
Mr. Lucardie was born June 18, 1922, in Semarang, Indonesia. He was married May 27, 1949, to Constance M. Krol.
He is survived by his wife; five sons, Fred, Robin, John, Ed and Roy; two sisters; and seven grandchildren.

JESSE B. MELENDEZ, 60, died Jan. 26, 1999, in Colorado Springs. He was the owner of Circle Super Market.
Mr. Melendez was born Nov. 14, 1938, in San Antonio. He was married to Sofia Matta.
He is survived by his wife; three sons, Robert, Ruben and Fred; and eight grandchildren.

GLADYS MELVINA LONGTON, 83, died Jan. 18, 1999, in Manitou Springs of natural causes. She was a retired nurses aide.
Miss Longton was born March 24, 1915, in Minneapolis.
She is survived by a son, James G. Rudd; two daughters, Denice A. Decker and Sandra L. Dodge; three brothers, Henry, Gaylord and Cyril; a sister, Deloris Haber; and two grandchildren.

SARAELLEN "SALLY" MARTINEZ
SARAELLEN "SALLY" MARTINEZ, 84, died Feb. 17, 1999, in Colorado Springs. She was a co-owner/ operator retired from El Burrito Restaurants.
Mrs. Martinez was born Sept. 14, 1914, in Indiana. 
She was married Aug. 5, 1950, to John Martinez.
She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Diane Eyre; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

GEORGE W. PIXLEY, 86, died Feb. 19, 1999, at a local care center. He started Star Realty Inc. in 1956 and was the owner of the Venetian Village Shopping Center.
Mr. Pixley was born Feb. 1, 1913, in Mont-rose, S.D. He was married June 6, 1958, to Marian L. Renner.
He is survived by his wife; three sons, Terry Pixley, Geoffrey H. Edmunds and Michael Garrett; two daughters, Louise Smith and Tracy Webb; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

ROBERT DAVID PROVOST, 58, a former Colorado Springs resident, died Jan. 31, 1999, in Anderson, Calif. He was a letter carrier retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 33 years of service. He served in the Navy.
Mr. Provost was born March 2, 1940, in Springfield, Mass. 
He is survived by a son, Robert Anthony; a daughter, Lisa R. Lenn; two brothers, Tom and Vern; and three grandsons.

He is survived by a son, Ryan; a daughter, Morgan; his parents, George Bernard and Yvonne Dorothea (Paget) Fagan; a brother, Jeffrey J.; and two sisters, Colleen R. Fagan and Janice A. Hall.
