VERNER A. VAHSHOLTZ
Mr. Vahsholtz, 75, died Jan. 5, 2000, in Colorado Springs. He was a retired master carpenter. He served in the Army for four years.
Mr. Vahsholtz was born March 20, 1924, in Herington, Kan.
He is survived by three sons, Alvin, Melvin and Donald; four daughters, Diana Blaine, Bonnie Schnars, Susan Sticker and Launa Brock; three brothers, Henry, Milton and Alfred; two sisters, Hattie Ratkie and Eleanor Conroy; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2221 N. Wahsatch Ave. Burial will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver.

LOUISE ROWE
Ms. Rowe, 89, died Jan. 11, 2000, in Colorado Springs. She retired from the Coca-Cola Bottling Co.
Ms. Rowe was born April 21, 1910, in Manitou Springs, to Clyde B. and Hilma (Carlson) King, who are deceased.
She is survived by a nephew, Jack King; and three nieces, Susan Gallivan, Patricia Brown and Janie King.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Crystal Valley Cemetery, end of Plainview Place, Manitou Springs. Blunt Mortuary, 2229 W. Colorado Ave., 634-8831, is handling arrangements.

ETHEL HOOTON
Mrs. Hooton, 68, died Jan. 11, 2000, in Colorado Springs. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Hooton was born June 30, 1931, in Herndon, Kan. She was married April 3, 1951, to Robert A. Hooton I.
She is survived by her husband; a son, Robert A. II; a daughter, Sheryl Holliday; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

MARIA RAPICANO WHALEY
Mrs. Whaley, 55, died Jan. 7, 2000, in Colorado Springs. She was a housekeeper for 12 years at Colorado College and worked at Tutt Library.
Mrs. Whaley was born June 28, 1944, in Vico Equense, Italy, to Luigi and Francesca (Cardone) Rapicano, who are deceased. She was married Feb. 4, 1962, to Harold W. Whaley Jr.
She is survived by her husband; two sons, Harry W. and Christian B.; a daughter, Stella Espinoza; seven brothers, Aniello Rapicano, Gaetano Rapicano, Pasquale Rapicano, Antonino Rapicano, Luigi Rapicano, Raffaele Rapicano and Ugo Rapicano; and seven grandchildren.

RETIRED LT. COL. MARY A. DE FOE
Lt. Col. De Foe, 85, died Jan. 10, 2000, at a local care center. She retired as a nurse from the Army after serving for 20 years and she served during World War II and the Korean War.
Lt. Col. De Foe was born July 27, 1914, in Horton, Kan. She was married June 4, 1961, to John T. De Foe, who is deceased.
She is survived by seven nephews and nieces.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. today at Holy Family Catholic Church, 311 Main St., Security.

DEBRA ANN APODACA CONRAD
Debra Ann, 37, died Jan. 11, 2000, at a local care center. She was a shift manager for a restaurant.
Debra Ann was born July 12, 1962, in Denver.
She is survived by two sons, Christopher and Shawn; two brothers, Ben and Sam; and six sisters, Marie, Dee, Toni, Helen, Grace and Margaret.

MARILYN SEBASTIAN MALONEY
Mrs. Maloney, 49, died Jan. 11, 2000, at a local hospital. She was a civil case manager for the New Jersey State Judiciary Department for 25 years.
Mrs. Maloney was born May 3, 1950, in Audubon, N.J., to Harry and June Lovett. Harry Lovett is deceased. She was married to James F. Maloney, who is deceased.
She is survived by her mother; a brother, Brian Lovett; and a sister, Karen Lovett.

ELIZABETH J. SHAFER
Miss Shafer, 75, a lifelong Colorado Springs resident, died Jan. 11, 2000, at a local care center. She was an active writer and poet.
Miss Shafer was born Jan. 18, 1924, in Colorado Springs, to Ira and Grace Shafer, who are deceased.
She is survived by three cousins, Clyde Keffer, Barbara Myers and Marjorie Piercy.

DR. HORACE A. BICKERS JR.
Dr. Bickers, 78, died Jan. 10, 2000, at his home in Colorado Springs. He retired in 1965 from dental practice and retired in 1990 as owner and operator of Rampart Realty in Colorado Springs. He served as a major in the Army Reserve during World War II and the Korean War.
Dr. Bickers was born Dec. 3, 1921, in Jackson, Tenn. He was married Aug. 3, 1946, to Eris Carruth.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Ronald D.; three daughters, Carolyn Johnson, Kathy Kyer and Brenda Appel; a sister, Jessilee MacFarland; and eight grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church, cathedral room, 219 E. Bijou St. Burial will be private. Nolan Funeral Home, 225 N. Weber St., 632-7608, is handling arrangements.

CLARENCE ROEDER
Mr. Roeder, 91, died Jan. 12, 2000, at a local care center. He was a farmer.
Mr. Roeder was born March 14, 1908, in Axtell, Kan. He was married April 28, 1932, to Marjorie M. Morton.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Milton C.; a daughter, Barbara; a brother, H.H.; two sisters, Helen Olberding and Rachel Seematter; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, James William, and a brother, Joseph.

DIANE M. SWEIGART
Diane, 65, died Jan. 10, 2000, in Colorado Springs as a result of natural causes.
Diane was born Oct. 23, 1934, in Northampton, England.
She is survived by two sons, Glenn and Paul; two daughters, Jayne Sims and Vickie Good; her mother; 11 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

HENRY "HANK" SPRING
Mr. Spring, 82, died Jan. 12, 2000, at a local care center, after a battle with cancer. He retired as a mechanic with Daniels Chevrolet.
Mr. Spring was born Oct. 3, 1917, in Stafford Springs, Conn. He was married in February 1938 to Mary Alice Sheeley, who is deceased.
He is survived by two sons, Hank Jr. and Bill; two brothers, William and Art; a sister, Charlotte Duffy; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Brewer, 92, died Jan. 12, 2000, at a local care center. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Brewer was born Dec. 22, 1907, in St. Joseph, Mo. She was married May 12, 1974, to Donald C. Brewer, who is deceased.
She is survived by a son, Ken Ballard; a daughter, Ann B. Marlin; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Medina, 76, a former Colorado Springs resident, died Jan. 8, 2000, in San Luis. She retired as a cook from Centennial School District.
Mrs. Medina was born April 14, 1923, in San Luis to Francisco and Catarina Vigil, who are deceased. She was married May 28, 1938, to Anselmo Medina, who is deceased.
She is survived by three sons, Eugene, Frank and Ricky; three daughters, Anna Lee Martinez, Kathleen Maestas and Anselma Montoya; 24 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.

MAURLEEN SHARON LINDSEY
Maurleen Sharon, 54, a lifelong Colorado Springs-area resident, died Jan. 8, 2000, at a local hospital. She was previously employed at Hewlett-Packard for 25 years.
Maurleen Sharon was born July 6, 1945, in Colorado Springs.
She is survived by a brother, Bernie.

Mrs. Firestone is survived by a son, David Jeffery Stauffer; three daughters, Terri Dill, Karen Dabb and Wendy Knight; and seven grandchildren. She is preceded in death by twin daughters, Deanna Sue Stauffer and Diana Lynn Stauffer.

Mrs. Fleener was born May 26, 1920, in Highland, Kan., to Eugene and Florence (Street) Parker, who are deceased. She was married Aug. 20, 1942, to Maj. Howard Boone Fleener, who is deceased.
She is survived by three daughters, Karla J. Cummings, Letitia A. Fleener and Vicki Fleener-Anderson; a brother, Charles Parker; two sisters, Virginia Holland and Rosemary Stewart; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Freeman, 89, a Colorado Springs resident, died Jan. 12, 2000, in Black Forest. She retired as a registered nurse from Glendale Community Hospital in Glendale, Calif., after 22 years.
Mrs. Freeman was born March 25, 1910, in Bellefontaine, Logan County, Ohio, to Leslie S. and Marie C. (McLaughlin) Horn, who are deceased. She was married Sept. 24, 1934, to Melvin Wade Freeman, who is deceased.
She is survived by a son, John Douglas; a daughter, Marie Adelle Carlsen; a brother, Leslie Horn; three sisters, Susie May, Charlotte Moore and Rosie Horn; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
