VALURA POINDEXTER
Mrs. Poindexter, 93, died Dec. 27, 1999, at a local care center. She was a owner and operator of Singing River Ranch and served in the Women's Air Corps during World War II.
Mrs. Poindexter was born July 20, 1906, in Gem, Kan. She was married in July 1924 to Ernest R. Poindexter, who is deceased.
She is survived by two daughters, Frances Brower and Norma Eloise Timman; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

FELDA MARIE McGAHA
Mrs. McGaha, 54, a lifelong Colorado Springs resident, died Dec. 29, 1999, at a local hospital. She was a homemaker and retired cook.
Mrs. McGaha was born Jan. 31, 1945, in Colorado Springs. She was married to Willie E. McGaha, who is deceased.
She is survived by two sons, Russell Upwall and Roald Upwall; two daughters, Theresa Stepp and Tangerine Jett; a brother and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, at Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., 634-1597. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel of Roses. Private inurnment is planned.

MERLIN RAY LAMPE
Mr. Lampe, 70, died Dec. 29, 1999, at a local hospital. He was a retired sales agent and served in the Army Reserves.
Mr. Lampe was born Sept. 12, 1929, in St. Francis, Kan. He was married to Violet Lorene Cox. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Jimmy M. and Steve A.; a daughter, Deborah A. Foss; a brother, Billy Kent; a sister Elaine Consbruck; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

ELEANOR ELISABETH CRABB
Mrs. Crabb, 91, a former Colorado Springs resident, died Dec. 28, 1999, in Greeley. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Crabb was born Sept. 20, 1908, in Chicago. She was married June 27, 1934, to Maj. Gen. Jarred V. Crabb, who is deceased.
She is survived by a son, Jarred R.; a daughter, Elisabeth Ann Carlson; two sisters, Marian Bishop and Harriett Grant; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

DEBRA MICHELE (HERRING) CARMON
Mrs. Carmon, 37, died Dec. 29, 1999, at a local care center. She was a home care nurse.
Mrs. Carmon was born Jan. 10, 1962, in the Panama, Canal Zone to Joe L. and Lorraine Herring. She was married Aug. 13, 1982, to Lloyd Carmon.
She is survived by her husband; her parents; a step daughter, Nashira L.; and two sisters, Gina Marie Herring and Donna Herring Martin.

MOSE W. YATES
Mr. Yates, 89, died Dec. 30, 1999, at a local hospital. He was director of public health for Shelby and Memphis counties in Tennesse.
Mr. Yates was born Oct. 29, 1910, in Dyersburg, Tenn. He was married July 7, 1934, to Maggie J. Dunehew.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Ronald W.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

BILLY HEARTY
Mr. Hearty, 32, died Dec. 27, 1999, in Colorado Springs.
Mr. Hearty was born May 14, 1967, in Centerville, Ill.
He is survived by his parents, James "Buck" Hearty and Sharon Catchall; two brothers, Brian Hearty and Robert Gould; a sister, Tina and his ex-wife, Teresa Hearty.

Mrs. Backus, 100, died Dec. 30, 1999, at a local care center. She was retired from civil service.

She is survived by a daughter, Marion B. Wampler; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Bettie Rae Tomlinson.

Mrs. Nottingham, 88, died Jan. 1, 2000, at a local care center. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Nottingham was born Feb. 18, 1911, in Lone Star, Kan. She was married June 19, 1932, to Jonathan O. Nottingham.
She is survived by her husband; two sons, Jonathan D. and Bruce A.; a sister, Winifred E. Stultz; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sara E. Ortiz.

MAURICE STANLEY THOMAS
Col. Thomas, 80, died Dec. 30, 1999, in Pueblo. He helped run a construction business and was supervisor of maintenance for the Colorado State Fairgrounds. He retired from the Air Force as a colonel in 1971. 
Col. Thomas was born Dec. 9, 1919, in Cañon City. He was married May 2, 1982, to his second wife, Louise Thomas.
He is survived by his second wife; a son, Edward; two daughters, Dee and Dory; two sisters, Virginia and Estella; and a brother, Ed.

Mrs. Trovillion, 40, died Dec. 31, 1999, in El Paso County, as a result of a traffic accident. She was a waitress at Home Town Buffet.
Mrs. Trovillion was born Dec. 2, 1959, in Colorado Springs. She was married Aug. 24, 1998, to Raymond L. "Doc" Trovillion.
She is survived by her husband; two sons, Brian Tecco and Danny Tecco; and a daughter, Courtney Burger.

BILLY R. EDMISTON
Mr. Edmiston, 72, died Jan. 1, 2000, at a local hospital. He retired from the Army as a sergeant first class after 20 years of service.
Mr. Edmiston was born March 28, 1927, in East St. Louis, Ill. He was married Jan. 27, 1954, to Naoe Mizuguchi, who is deceased.
He is survived by three sons, Frank, Gary and Robby; three daughters, Frances Davidson, Doris Grimes and Evelyn Minovitch; a brother, Bob; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

DAVID ALLEN MUELLER
Mr. Mueller, 39, of Penrose, died Dec. 27, 1999. He was a mechanical design engineer.
Mr. Mueller was born July 21, 1960, in Moorehead, Minn., to Alvin and Patricia Mueller. He was married March 17, 1984 to Sidney B. Connell. 
He is survived by his wife; his parents; two stepsons, John Stanley and Matthew Stanley; a stepdaughter, Sarah Reynolds; a sister, Brenda Jansen; two brothers, Terry and Roger; and two grandchildren.

She is survived by a son, Patrick; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Mr. Byes, 58, died Jan. 1, 2000, at a local hospital. He was retired from the Colorado Springs Fire Department after 28 years of service and served in the Navy.
Mr. Byes was born March 17, 1941, in Calico Rock, Ark. He was married July 26, 1963, to Judith Donovan.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Kevin; three daughters, Kathleen Byers, Pamela Kastrava and Diana Ortiz; and eight grandchildren.

Mrs. Fuchs was born May 19, 1927, in Union, N.J. She was married Aug. 17, 1958, to Paul M. Fuchs.

Mr. Buchanan was born Aug. 31, 1939, in Rocky Springs, Wyo., to Archie N. and Gladys Buchanan. He was married in December 1963 to Elizabeth Ann Waguespack, who is deceased.

He was married Feb. 11, 1966, to Carol Kettering.

She is survived by two sons, Bruce Whitley and James B. Hays; a daughter, Glenda Whitley; five brothers, James Freeman, Glenn Freeman Jr., Richard Freeman, Jack Freeman and William Freeman; her mother, Esther Freeman; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

WILLIAM THOMAS "BILL" LONG
Mr. Long, 71, died Jan. 5, 2000, at his home in Colorado Springs after a lengthy illness. He was a an US West engineer.
Mr. Long was born Aug. 24, 1928, in Clarksburg, Mo., to Wilbur James and J. Lorraine (Albin) Long. He was married June 22, 1947, to Dolores Kathryn Alldredge.
Mr. Long is survived by his wife; two sons, James W. and Gerald L.; two daughters, Debra K. Long and Cynthia D. Gieck; and four grandchildren.

JOHN "J.P." MORGAN
Mr. Morgan, 51, died Jan. 4, 2000, in Colorado Springs.
He was retired from the Air Force after 25 years and served in Vietnam and Desert Storm.
Mr. Morgan was born May 9, 1948, in Brockton, Mass.
He is survived by a sister, Deborah E. Sauer, a nephew, Nathaniel; and a niece, Jillian.
