MARGARET JOYCE LIGON "MAGGIE" VAIL
Mrs. Vail, 74, died July 15, 2000, in Colorado Springs.
Mrs. Vail was born Jan. 13, 1926, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Bert and Rita (Taylor) Ligon, who are deceased. She was married May 28, 1982, to Donald R. "Don" Vail.
She is survived by her husband; three sons, Christopher "Chris" Mitguard, Matthew "Matt" Mitguard and Jonathan "Jon" Mitguard; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Gilbert Ligon.
Visitation will be from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Friday with services at 10:30 a.m. at Unitarian Church of All Souls, 730 N. Tejon St. After the service, a reception will be at the Vail residence. FERN IVON (MOORE) BODINE
Mrs. Bodine, 77, a former Colorado Springs resident, died July 17, 2000, in Commerce City. She was a factory worker.
Mrs. Bodine was born Oct. 12, 1922, in Covert, Kan., to Harvey A. Moore and Adaline Loomis, who are deceased. She was married July 9, 1945, to Irving Keith Bodine, who is deceased.
She is survived by a sister, Dasie Cronk; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Rodney and Tom.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Highland Cemetery, 10201 Grant St., Thornton. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Highland Cemetery. IRENE (ALLISON) FARRELL
Mrs. Farrell, 83, a former Colorado Springs resident, died July 19, 2000, in Rowlett, Texas. She was retired.
Mrs. Farrell was born Feb. 5, 1917, in Woodward, Okla., to Rex and Los Della (Curtis) Allison, who are deceased.
She is survived by two sons, Keith and Collin; a daughter, Sharon; a brother, Jiggs Allison; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

DANIEL JOSEPH MEDEIROS
Mr. Medeiros, 68, died July 18, 2000, in Colorado Springs. He was an electrical supply supervisor.
Mr. Medeiros was born Sept. 3, 1931, in Cambridge, Mass., to Joseph and Evelyn (Silva) Medeiros, who are deceased.
He is survived by two sons, Joseph "Joe" and Michael "Mike"; a brother, Robert "Bob"; and eight grandchildren.
Services will be in Massachusetts. Burial will be at Union Cemetery, Brockton, Mass. Cappadona's Alternative Funeral Services, 3407 N. El Paso St., 520-1817, is handling local arrangements.

CASEY BRIAN O'NEIL
Mr. O'Neil, 46, a former Colorado Springs resident, died July 11, 2000, in Salida. He was formerly an environmental regulator for the City of Colorado Springs Utilities and an operator for the Buena Vista Sanitation District. He served in the Army from 1974 to 1977.
Mr. O'Neil was born June 6, 1954, in Denver, to Bud O'Neil and Jeanne Gilbert. He was married Oct. 10, 1999, to Jocelyn Mullen.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Kelly; his father; his mother; and a sister, Caron.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Salida Cafe, 330 W. Sackett Ave., Salida.

LEO ARTHUR HOEGH
Mr. Hoegh, 92, died July 15, 2000, at his home in Colorado Springs. He was a retired lawyer, former governor of Iowa and member of President Eisenhower's Cabinet. He served in the Army from 1942 to 1946 during World War II.
Mr. Hoegh was born March 30, 1908, in Audubon County, Iowa. He was married June 29, 1936, to Mary Louise Foster, who is deceased.
He is survived by two daughters, Kristin Hoegh Marsh and Janis Hoegh; and a grandchild.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Swan Law Cascade Chapel, 501 N. Cascade Ave., 471-9900. Inurnment will be private.

WILLIAM B. ADAMS
Mr. Adams, 79, died July 17, 2000, in Colorado Springs. He retired from the construction industry and served in the Army for four years.
Mr. Adams was born Aug. 5, 1920, in Del Norte to Robert M. and Ada (Birmingham) Adams, who are deceased. He was married Jan. 9, 1948, to Hazel H. Wickwire.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Patrick; a sister, Jeanne Dolans; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael B.; two brothers, Lawrence and Jim; and two sisters, Dorothy Proe and Tucky Lappin.

JOE GAWLIK
Mr. Gawlik, 58, died July 18, 2000, in Colorado Springs as a result of a heart attack. He was a mechanical insulator and served in the Army for four years.
Mr. Gawlik was born April 18, 1942, in Hammond, Ind., to Charles and Bertha Gawlik, who are deceased. He was married June 9, 1990, to Diana L. Zerr.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Debbie Clayton and Denise Gawlik; a stepson, Mike Zerr; a stepdaughter, Amy Zerr; two brothers, Sonny and Ray; and five grandchildren.

BARBARA J. (DAVIDSON) FOGGIA
Barbara, 59, died July 18, 2000, in Colorado Springs. She was the manager of Bowie's Gold & Diamonds.
Barbara was born July 19, 1940, in Colorado Springs to Joe and Hazel L. (Hoy) Davidson, who are deceased. She was married in 1982 to Jim Crance.
She is survived by her husband; two sons, Michael Foggia and Lynn Davidson; a stepson, Vern Crance; two stepdaughters, Kelley Crance and Lisa Crance; a brother, Burt Simbro; four sisters, Hazel Peats, Marie Stogner, Linda Clark and Jody Hicks; and three grandchildren.

JAMIE GEORGE
Mr. George, 72, died July 18, 2000, at his home in Woodland Park. He was an aircraft designer and served in the Army for four years.
Mr. George was born May 15, 1928, in Norwalk, Calif., to Kenneth and Clara (Barfoot) George, who are deceased. He was married July 23, 1946, to Ursula Boettjer.
He is survived by his wife; a son, John; four daughters, Clara Middlemiss, Katherine George, Ursula Longo and Karin Burk; two sisters, Carol Creal and Donna Hixon; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Mountain Wilderness Memorial Park, 118 Arapahoe Road, Woodland Park. Inurnment will be at Mountain Wilderness Memorial Park.

LILLIAN M. GARRETT
Mrs. Garrett, 90, a former Colorado Springs resident, died July 17, 2000, in Anchorage, Alaska. She was a homemaker and a retired school district cafeteria worker.
Mrs. Garrett was born April 12, 1910, in Sugar City. She was married to Arlof L. Garrett, who is deceased.
She is survived by a daughter, Margaret Ann Olson; a sister, Margaret Bush; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

BETTY BOWEN
Mrs. Bowen, 71, a former Colorado Springs resident, died July 19, 2000, at a Fort Collins hospital. She worked at the telephone company in Boulder and later at Stead's Ranch and the Coffee Bar Cafe in Estes Park. 
She owned and operated Bowen Western Products in Colorado Springs.
Mrs. Bowen was born Nov. 24, 1928, in Lyons to Charles C. and Beryl (Roark) Morris, who are deceased. She was married June 18, 1953, to Robert T. Bowen, who is deceased.
She is survived by two sons, Rob and Randy; two sisters, Jody Thomas and Jackie Hartnagle; and a foster brother, Gary Smith. She was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Dekker.

HERMAN BARTLEY MITCHELL
Mr. Mitchell, 79, died July 18, 2000, in Colorado Springs. He was a retired housing manager. He retired as an E-8 from the Army after 26 years of service.
Mr. Mitchell was born June 28, 1921, in Sylvania, Ga., to William Clifford Mitchell and Gather Palmer, who are deceased. He was married June 22, 1954, to Nancy Johnson, who is deceased.
He is survived by a son, Peter B.; a daughter, Melissa D.; and a brother, William.

GEORGE KERN JR.
Mr. Kern, 81, a former Colorado Springs resident, died July 18, 2000, in Willcox, Ariz. He was an electrician for Johnson Electric in Des Moines, Iowa.
Mr. Kern was born June 7, 1919, in Grimes, Iowa, to George Joseph Kern and Beulah Putman, who are deceased. He was married Aug. 10, 1984, to Joan O. Rittel.
He is survived by his wife.

Mrs. Morris, 72, died July 20, 2000, at a local hospital. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Morris was born July 6, 1928, in Salina, Kan., to Raymond and Ruth (Munson) Linholm, who are deceased. She was married June 6, 1959, to Richard D. Morris, who is deceased.
She is survived by three sons, Fred, Ronald and Doug; a daughter, Nancy Kirk; a sister, Barbara Serrault; and three grandchildren.

Mrs. Mancuso, 83, died July 20, 2000, at a local care center. She was a housekeeper.
Mrs. Mancuso was born Dec. 14, 1916, in Italy to Paul and Giovanna Marino, who are deceased. She was married to Anthony Mancuso, who is deceased.
She is survived by two sons, Anthony and Danny; two daughters, Paula Warner and Celia Randazzese; two sisters, Lillian Maltese and Jean Flurie; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Kathleen Schumacher and Jeannette Bechert; and two brothers, John Marino and Vita Marino.

AARON H. KITCHEN
Mr. Kitchen, 88, died July 20, 2000, in Colorado Springs. He was a retired masonry contractor and served as private first class in the Army for three years during World War II.
Mr. Kitchen was born Jan. 29, 1912, in Bernie, Mo., to Albert and Rachel (Vineyard) Kitchen, who are deceased. He was married Dec. 21, 1946, to Virginia C. Wheaton.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Leslie; two daughters, Linda Storm and Marcia Olson; four sisters, Bernadine Toy, Arbutus Stephenson, Katherine Chambon and Joyce Platschorre; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dawsey and Marion; and a sister, Dorothy Henderson.

ERIKA C. PALMER
Mrs. Palmer, 80, a former resident of Manitou Springs, died July 20, 2000 in Sugar City. She owned Riky's Ramble Shop in Manitou Springs for many years.
Mrs. Palmer was born June 15, 1920, in Budapest, Hungary. She was married Dec. 22, 1952, to Lyle Palmer, who is deceased. She is survived by three brothers and a sister, who are in Hungary.
Private memorial services are planned at the Fort Lyon National Cemetery at a later date. Grooms Crematory and Mortuary, 28033 Road 21, Rocky Ford, (719) 254-4422, is handling arrangements.

BERNICE VIRGINIA "SALLY" BROWN
Mrs. Brown, 89, a former resident of Manitou Springs, died July 20, 2000, in Torrington, Wyo. She was a beautician.
Mrs. Brown was born Feb. 22, 1911, in Hemingford, Neb., to Charles Sherman and Lydia (Noe) West, who are deceased. She was married March 9, 1935, to Leland Brown.
She is survived by her husband; a son, Ronald; a daughter, Arline Paulin; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers.

KATHRYN M. CHRISTENSEN
Mrs. Christensen, 86, died July 19, 2000, in Colorado Springs. She was a housekeeper for business offices.
Mrs. Christensen was born Feb. 24, 1914, in Colby, Wis., to Henry and Katherine (Thorn) Baures, who are deceased. She was married in 1968 to James Christensen, who is deceased.
She is survived by two daughters, Rita Fugger and Phyllis Nessmann; a stepdaughter, Karen Zeone; a stepson, Brian Christensen; a brother, Raymond Baures; three sisters, Dorothy Fernholz, Bernice Middleton and Rose Buckner; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, William Baures; and two sisters, Esther Mann and Helen Baures.

LUCINDA MYRICK
Mrs. Myrick, 61, died July 17, 2000, at her home in Colorado Springs. She was a retired civil service employee.
Mrs. Myrick was born April 23, 1939, in Montgomery, Ala., to Willie Mae Jenkins. She was married in September 1955 to Sander Myrick, who is deceased.
She is survived by three sons, Jerome, Arthur and Sander; two brothers, Richard Stoval and Tuce Jenkins; and eight grandchildren.

MARGARET LEONA WALTON
Mrs. Walton, 97, died July 21, 2000, at a local care center. She was a baker for St. Francis Hospital.
Mrs. Walton was born Dec. 14, 1902, in St. Anthony Morton, N.D., to John and Catherine (Milner) Mann, who are deceased. She was married in 1942 to Jack I. Walton, who is deceased.
She is survived by a daughter, Judith Ann Taylor; a sister, Eleanor Getz; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, two brothers and eight sisters.
Visitation will be from 4 to 5 p.m. Monday at Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., 634-1597. Entombment will be at Shrine of Remembrance "Garden of Angels."

MEREDITH L. KOPPY
Ms. Koppy, 46, died July 18, 2000, in Colorado Springs. She was a homemaker.
Ms. Koppy was born July 3, 1954, in Fargo, N.D., to Joe and Audrey Koppy, who are deceased.
She is survived by three daughters, Patty Marie (Simpson) Steiner, Louise Ann Simpson and Joy Lynn Simpson; a brother, Joseph Koppy; and two grandchildren.

Mrs. Jensen, 72, died July 17, 2000, in Pagosa Springs. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Jensen was born Feb. 25, 1928, in Bjerndrup, Denmark, to Ellen and Christian Skov. She was married to John E. Jensen for more than 54 years. She is survived by her husband; two sons, Holger and Borge; four daughters, Marianne Jensen, Elin Vaeth, Karin Jensen-Glick and Lisa Ricci; a brother, Svend; two sisters, Grehte and Ingrid; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services were held Wednesday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Pagosa Springs.
