Mr. Hudson, 78, died July 9, 2000, at a local hospital. He was a retired linotype operator and a manager for Shepard's/ McGraw-Hill Publishers. He also served in the Army.
Mr. Hudson was born Nov. 26, 1921, in New York City to Charles and Florence (Doffner) Hudson, who are deceased. He was married July 10, 1943, to Geraldine Dailey.
He is survived by his wife; a son, John C.; and three sisters, Dorothy Fagan, Carole Wipple and Margaret Lay.

RETIRED COL. CHARLES M. BERGESON
Col. Bergeson, 77, died July 8, 2000, in Colorado Springs. He owned and managed Travel Travel at Erindale Square. He also served in the Air Force for 33 years.
Col. Bergeson was born Nov. 14, 1922, in Allamakee County, Iowa, to Almer and Olga (Horgen) Bergeson, who are deceased. He was married Aug. 27, 1949, to Bette A. Persinger.
He is survived by his wife; two brothers, Howard and Almo; and a sister, Delores Higgason. He was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel of Roses, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd. A reception will be after services at Olympian Plaza Reception and Event Center, 975 S. Union Blvd. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Ave.

DOROTHY M. TIILIKAINEN
Mrs. Tiilikainen, 87, died July 9, 2000, in Colorado Springs. She was an administrator, school secretary and librarian.
Mrs. Tiilikainen was born Jan. 24, 1913, in Denver to George W. and Jessie (Miller) Wagner, who are deceased. She was married Dec. 9, 1945, to Eino Tiilikainen, who is deceased.
She is survived by a son, Lauri; a brother George Wagner; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Vernon Wagner; and six sisters, Florence, Jessie, Ruth, Esther, Mary and Virginia.

WAYNE KING
Wayne, 62, a longtime resident, died July 6, 2000, at his home in Widefield. He was an officer with the Manitou Springs Police Department and the Colorado State Patrol. He was chief of police in Fountain and retired from the El Paso County Sheriff's Office as a captain. He also served in the Army for four years.
Wayne was born July 27, 1937, in Purcell, Mo., to Floyd W. and Gladys M. (Getz) King, who are deceased. He was married Aug. 6, 1960, to Peggy Wallace.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Dennis and Robert; two brothers, Ronnie and Galen; two sisters, Linda Hall and Jenny Moore; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Stella Edel; and a sister, Judith Marie.

LOUIS HENRY MIKULECKY
Mr. Mikulecky, 68, died July 7, 2000, in Colorado Springs. He was retired from the Army after 22 years of service.
Mr. Mikulecky was born April 17, 1932, in Ellsworth, Kan., to Louis Alois Mikulecky and Evangeline D. Buckner, who are deceased. He was married April 30, 1959, to Betty Louise Alley.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Lewis H.; four daughters, Evangeline Zeller, Laura McClintock, Robin Ewing and Rebecca Smith; and 12 grandchildren.

JOHN R. RAKOWIECKI
Mr. Rakowiecki, 51, died July 6, 2000, in Colorado Springs. He was a chief engineer at LaQuinta Inn.
Mr. Rakowiecki was born Feb. 8, 1949, in Chicago to Frank and Dolores (Smrz) Rakowiecki, who are deceased. He was married in 1985 to Leola Teresa Ryan.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, John R. Jr. and Frank; four daughters, Nicole Rakowiecki, Sharon Powell, Valerie Kwiecien and Jennifer Rakowiecki; a stepson, Lee Ryan; and two brothers, Frank and Larry.

ELEANOR "ELLIE" D. JOHNSTON
Mrs. Johnston, 77, died July 8, 2000, in Colorado Springs.
Mrs. Johnston was born Aug. 6, 1922, in Los Angeles to Nils Pearson and Agnes Gunduson, who are deceased. She was married to Ernest Johnston, who is deceased.
She is survived by a daughter, Anne Gordon; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Mr. Halpin, 83, died July 6, 2000, in Colorado Springs. He was a beef skinner at a packing plant. He also served in the Army.
Mr. Halpin was born Oct. 27, 1916, in Otumwa, Iowa, to Edwin and Effie (Howard) Halpin, who are deceased. He was married May 4, 1940, to Carolyn Rowley.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Michael; two daughters, Cyndy Hatafi and Debby Maloy; two brothers, Dale and Duane; two sisters, LaDonna Jacobs and Mary Buckley; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Rozella Van Ness.

Mrs. Cooper, 78, died July 7, 2000, in Colorado Springs. She was a school clerk in Los Angeles.

She is survived by a son, Daniel; two daughters, JoAnn Thrower and Cynthia Harvey; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

PAULINE THOMPSON
Mrs. Thompson, 81, died July 11, 2000, at a local care center. She was retired from Walter Drake.
Mrs. Thompson was born March 14, 1919, in Wattsville, Texas, to William and Zula (Watts) Darden, who are deceased. She was married March 3, 1939, to Tony Thompson, who is deceased.
She is survived by two sons, Richard L. and Kenneth "Dean"; a sister, Georgie Faye Warren; one granddaughter; and one great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by a brother, Granvoz Darden.

Mrs. Payne, 78, died July 10, 2000, in Colorado Springs. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Payne was born Sept. 14, 1921, in Tacoma, Wash., to Steve and Mary (Flaherty) Loughlin, who are deceased. She was married March 15, 1942, to James C. Payne, who is deceased.
She is survived by three sons, Thomas "Tommy", Larry and Randy; three daughters, Jimmy Perry, Joy Humphrey and Veronica Houghton; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Patrick Loughlin, Martin Loughlin and John Loughlin; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.

Mr. Miranda, 90, died July 9, 2000, in Colorado Springs. He was a welder for Peterbuilt Trucking Co.
Mr. Miranda was born April 12, 1910, in Kauai, Hawaii, to Manuel Miranda and Matilda Nobriga, who are deceased. He was married to Annette Polumbo, who is deceased.
He is survived by a son, Gene; two sisters, Emily Oliveri and Matilda Silveria; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph; and two sisters, Mary Gilco and Gussie George.

Mrs. Guy, 76, died July 10, 2000, in Cañon City. She was an artist.
Mrs. Guy was born June 19, 1924, in Colorado Springs to Eugene Vane and Mary Elizabeth (Wager) Stone, who are deceased. She was married Dec. 8, 1945, to Frank Guy.
