GEORGE HENRY BAILEY, 79, of Denver died Sept. 26 in Thornton. Services were Sept. 29, with burial at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Mr. Bailey was born in Severance on May 11, 1920. He married Dorothy Wilks. He served in the Army. He worked at Wal-Mart. He was a member of the Teamsters. Survivors include his wife; daughters Janet David of Texas, Laveta Cullen and Wanda Wehner, both of Thornton; stepdaughters Glenda Christensen and Sally Nash, both of Craig; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. 

DOROTHY AYRES BERRY, 94, of Englewood died Sept. 26. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, at Central Christian Church, 3690 Cherry Creek Drive S. Mrs. Berry was born in Houston on Aug. 25, 1905. She married John Berry. She was a social worker. She was a member of Central Christian Church. Survivors include daughter Susan Reynolds of Englewood; son John of Illinois; sister Elizabeth McConnell of Texas; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. 

DORA CORDERO, 71, of Denver died Sept. 23. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, at Presentation of Our Lady. Mrs. Cordero was born in Scottsbluff, Neb., on March 17, 1928. She married Zaragoza Cordero. Survivors include her husband; daughters Adeline Matthews, Rosalie and Mary, all of Denver; sons Ronald and Alfonso, both of Denver; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren. 

BARBARA PEARSALL DINGES, 62, of Littleton died Aug. 17. Services were Aug. 21, at Grace Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Dinges was born in Billings, Mont., on Sept. 24, 1936. She married J.M. "Jack" Dinges Jr., 1960. She was a retired second-grade teacher. Survivors include her husband; daughter Julieann Van Gorder of Denver; son Rodney of Littleton; a stepgranddaughter. 

DONALD J. DUCK, 69, of Conifer died Sept. 25 in Englewood. Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, in Indiana. Mr. Duck was born in Terre Haute, Ind., on Aug. 8, 1930. He married Dolores Traylor, 1956. He served in the Air Force. He was a civil engineer. Survivors include his wife; daughter Vicki Fox of Conifer; two grandsons. 

SHIRLEY ANN EVANS, 74, of Boulder died Sept. 27. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, at the Mountain View United Methodist Church, 355 Ponca Place, in Boulder. Mrs. Evans was born in Milford, Iowa, on Aug. 11, 1925. She married E. Thomas Evans, 1949. She was a retired registered nurse for the Boulder Medical Center. She was a member of the Mountain View United Methodist Church and Mankato State Teachers College, School of Nursing Alumni Association. Survivors include her husband; son Timothy of Lafayette; daughter Nancy DiMarco of Texas; brother Vaughn Speer of Iowa; seven grandchildren.

HARBERT ''GIB'' GILBERT, 63, of Denver, died Sept. 25. Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, at Jefferson Unitarian Church, 14350 W. 32nd Ave., in Lakewood. Mr. Gilbert was born in Boulder on July 31, 1936. He married Carla Lujin, 1961. He was founder and owner of the Timberline House, an outdoor recreation store. He was a member of First Plymouth United Church of Christ, and "Calico and Boots" square dance club. He was director the Lloyd Shaw Foundation. Survivors include sons Kent of Kentucky and Craig of Denver. 

ADA IRENE HAGLER, 74, of Highland, Ill., formerly of Denver, died Sept. 25. Services will be Thursday, Sept. 30, in Illinois. Mrs. Hagler was born in Millersburg, Ill., on Nov. 18, 1924. She married John Hagler, 1941. She was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ, and the Christian's Women's Club. Survivors include sons Robert of Illinois and Edward of Aurora; brother Gerald Sugg of Illinois; sister Betty Ann Johnston of Illinois; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild.

JOHN JAY HEINRICH, 65, of Commerce City died Sept. 26. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, at Aspen Commerce City Chapel, 6580 E. 73rd Ave. Mr. Heinrich was born in Athboy, S.D., on May 16, 1934. He married Lois Jean Parminter, 1955. He served in the Navy. He was a self-employed carpenter. Survivors include his wife; daughters Linda Gray of Arizona, Joy Burk of Texas and Judy Koenig of Byers; sister Rosemary Funk of California; eight grandchildren. 

LOUISE ADELYN HICKMAN, 94, of Englewood died Sept. 26. Services were Sept. 29, with burial at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Hickman was born in Atchison, Kan., on Aug. 10, 1905. She married Louis Hickman, 1963. She was a retired recording clerk for the government. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star. Survivors include nephew Paul Miller of Franktown; nieces Lynda Miller of Texas and Judy Benge of Highlands Ranch. 

DEAN PHILLIP HONE, 36, of Edgewater died Sept. 24. Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, in California. Mr. Hone was born in Redwood City, Calif., on Aug. 19, 1963. He was a carpenter. Survivors include father Wayne of California; sister Cynthia Hagan of California; brother Darren of Edgewater. 

RALPH MICHAEL IRISH, 55, of Denver died Sept. 24. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 1, at Monarch Society, 1534 Pearl St. Mr. Irish was born in Denver on May 15, 1944. He served in the Army. He was a certified financial planner. Survivors include mother Martha of Arizona; brothers Patrick of Denver and John of Texas; sister Kelli New of New Castle. 

DORIS L. MACKEY, 86, of Denver died Sept. 16. Mrs. Mackey was born in Cheyenne on Aug. 9, 1913. She married Arvo Mackey, 1947. She was a schoolteacher. Survivors include her son Paul of Denver; two grandchildren; a great-grandchild. 

MAE M. MARSHALL, 82, of Littleton died Sept. 28. Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, at Chapel Hill. Mrs. Marshall was born in Tucumcari, N.M., on May 1, 1917. She married Herbert Marshall, 1943. Survivors include son Herbert of Englewood; daughters Mildred Garza of Denver and Brenda of Arizona; brother Isaac Kerley of Sedalia; seven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren. 

ALFARETTA MAY MELLIES, 83, of Lakewood died Sept. 25. Mrs. Mellies was born in Grant on May 3, 1916. She married Howard Mellies, 1954. Survivors include brother Neil Seeley of New Mexico; daughter Sharon Ells of Lakewood; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. 

FLORENCE B. OLSON, 89, of Denver died Sept. 23 in Aurora. Services were Sept. 29, at First Covenant Evangelical Church. Mrs. Olson was born in Kansas City, Mo., on Jan. 1, 1910. She married Marvin Olson, 1931. She owned Kearney Hardware in Nebraska. She was a member of her church and hospital volunteer groups. Survivors include daughters Janine Hultquist and Connie Weibel, both of Aurora, Ann Locke of Golden; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. 

JESSICA ''JESSIE'' MICHELLE JAMES PALMER, 34, of Lakewood died Sept. 24 in Denver. Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, at Olinger Wadsworth Chapel. Mrs. Palmer was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, on Aug. 3, 1965. She married Greg Palmer. She was a waitress. Survivors include her husband; father Butch James of Lakewood; mother Carol Cobden-Madox of Texas; sister T. "Sissy" Yvonne James of Texas; grandmothers Esther Ruth James-Webb of Lakewood and Lucile Cobden of Texas. 

MARGARET HELEN RENTZ, 75, of Englewood died Sept. 25 in Aurora. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, at Grace Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Rentz was born in Detroit on May 27, 1924. She married Walter Rentz, 1946. She was a teacher. Survivors include her husband; son Robert of Northglenn; daughter Barbara Brooks of Englewood; sister Marilyn DeVries of Michigan; five grandchildren. 

ALICE M. SCHIWART, 73, of Thornton died Sept. 8. Mrs. Schiwart was born in St. Louis on Dec. 22, 1925. She married Marvin Schiwart. She worked in hospital food service. Survivors include sons Gregory of Thornton; daughters Linda Wahl and Arleen Whiteman, both of Thornton; sister Lois Toomey of Washington; six grandchildren. 

MARY DAHL VELANDO, 82, of Aurora died Sept. 25. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3201 S. Parker Road. Mrs. Velando was born in Barry Township, Pa., on May 31, 1917. She married Henry Dahl, 1942, and Federico Velando, 1986. She did public relations for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. She was a member of the Women's Club in New Jersey, Senior Friends in Aurora and Faith Presbyterian Church in Aurora. Survivors include daughter Caroline Venglar of Highlands Ranch; sister Anna Morgan of Pennsylvania; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. 

JOSEPH RILEY WILSON, 77, of Lakewood died Sept. 26. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, at Golden Church of Nazarene, 17500 W. 16th Ave. Mr. Wilson was born in Kansas on Sept. 24, 1922. Survivors include brother Arthur of Denver; sisters Marie Folgner and Jane Compton, both of Kansas; friend George Sawano of Arvada. 

SILAS WRIGHT, 74, of Jefferson died Sept. 3. Services were Sept. 8, at Aspen Memorial Chapel. Mr. Wright was born in Venice, Calif., on Dec. 4, 1924. He married Della Louise Case, 1958. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a truck driver for Hadley Auto Transport. He was a member of Liberty Masonic Lodge, a bowling league and community activities. Survivors include his wife; sons Alan and Ray, both of Fairplay; brother Merrill.

DON E. BAILEY, 65, of San Francisco, formerly of Denver, died Sept. 17. Services near Denver will be at a later date. Mr. Bailey was born in Denver on April 12, 1935. He married Nancy Bailey. He was a lawyer. He was president of the Northern California chapter of the American Board of Trail Advocates. He enjoyed traveling and backpacking and led many Sierra Club family trips. Survivors include his wife; daughters Rebekah Porter, Rachael, Sarah; sons Michael, Patrick, Christopher; a grandchild. 

BOBBY LEE BATEMAN, 72, of Denver died Sept. 25. Services were Sept. 29, with inurnment at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Mr. Bateman was born in Laverne, Okla., on Dec. 29, 1927. He married A. Eileen Parman. He served in the Army. He was a bakery manager and owned a title company. Survivors include his wife; sons Larry and Terry, both of Denver; daughter Vickie Lovell of Thornton, Diane Melendez of Sheridan; sisters Thelma Anderson, Juanita Christianson; brother James; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren. 

JUNE CARNEY, 80, of Denver died Sept. 23. Services were Sept. 27, with burial at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Mrs. Carney was born in Donnelly, Minn., on June 9, 1920. She married Jim Carney, 1945. She volunteered for many years at her children's schools and for Catholic Charities. Survivors include her husband; daughter Ann Houghfon; son Mike; four grandchildren. 

HAZEL COYTE GIBBA, 83, of Thornton died Sept. 20. Inurnment will be in San Fernando, Calif. Mrs. Gibba was born in Spicer on Dec. 14, 1916. She married George Gibba, 1958. She was a registered nurse. Survivors include foster son David Meyers of California; foster daughter Christy Camp of California; sister Ruth Meyring of Walden. 

SHEILA LYNN GUILLAR, 37, of Denver died Sept. 25. Services were Sept. 29. Ms. Guillar was born in Englewood on Jan. 1, 1963. She married Melody Guillar, 1990. She worked at Front Range Clinical Labs and also was an artist. Survivors include her partner; daughters Jolene Smart, Sherri Roy and Shyann, all of Denver; son Roman Martinez of Denver; parents Ken and Helen Smart of Westminster; sister Wendy Olinger of Highlands Ranch; brother Chris Ellis of Highlands Ranch. 

JOSEPHINE HAAS, 94, of Fort Morgan died Sept. 23. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 2, at United Methodist Church. Mrs. Haas was born in McCracken, Kan., on Aug. 11, 1906. She married Clair Haas, 1929. She was a member of the Eastern Star. Survivors include son Robert of Littleton; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. 

MARTIN M. KAYE, 89, of Denver died Sept. 14. Services were Sept. 17, with burial at Beth Torah Cemetery in Richmond, Va. Mr. Kaye was born in New York City on April 27, 1911. He married Ray Tenner, 1931. He was a retired merchant. Survivors include son Robert of Virginia; daughter Ira Kaye Kessel of Arvada; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. 

MARGARET LORD, 87, of Olathe, Kan., formerly of Colorado, died Sept. 24. Services were Sept. 26 and Sept. 30. Mrs. Lord was born in Evanston, Ill., on Nov. 23, 1912. She married Ted Lord, 1936. She was a model, played violin in several orchestras, and enjoyed entertaining friends and family with the ukulele. Survivors include daughters Barbara Ware of Windsor, Diane Quaintance of Kansas, Deborah Treiber of Granby; sons Tedd Jr. of Colorado Springs, Tim of California; sisters Helen Terry of California, Marianne Sullivan of Florida; brother Jim Jones of California; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren. 

JOHN MICHAEL MARTIN, 51, of Arvada died Sept. 26. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 2, at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Mr. Martin was born in Steamboat Springs on April 28, 1949. He served in the Navy in Vietnam. He was a computer consultant. Survivors include companion Devi Day of Arvada; daughter Jennifer of Greeley; mother Jo Ann Yeager of Arvada; brother Edward Yeager of Denver; sisters Sharon Blakley of Denver, Linda Davis of Arvada; a grandchild. 

DAVID ELMER McDONALD, 95, of Littleton died Sept. 25. Services were Sept. 28, with burial at Littleton Cemetery. Mr. McDonald was born in Clearwater, Neb., on July 21, 1905. He married Inez Marie Taylor, 1928. He was a teacher. Survivors include daughters Patricia Thomas of Littleton, Sandra Winter and Karyl Hill, both of Wyoming; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. 

MARGERY JUNE NELSON, 76, of Arvada died Sept. 26. Services were Sept. 29. Mrs. Nelson was born in Estes Park on May 29, 1924. She married Swede Nelson. She was a life member of Arvada Elks Lodge Ladies Auxiliary, Arvada Veterans of Foreign Wars and Arvada Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband; sons Mike, Chuck, Bob; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. 

JOSEPHINE LORRAINE NICHOLS, 69, of Littleton died Sept. 25. Services were Sept. 28. Mrs. Nichols was born in Duluth, Minn., on Dec. 4, 1930. She married Thomas Nichols, 1958. She was a retired executive secretary. Survivors include her husband; sons Kevin of Littleton, Timothy of Castle Rock, Kerry of California; sisters Audrey Woods of Texas, LaVerne Mayer of Minnesota, Marlene Goad of New York, Vi Mayer of Virginia; brothers Joe Mayer of Arizona, Milt Mayer of Minnesota; two grandchildren. 

DANIEL B. NOLAN, 80, of Bakersfield, Calif., formerly of Englewood, died Sept. 15. Mr. Nolan was born on May 3, 1920. He married Barbara Nolan. He served in the Army. He was a geologist for Conoco Oil Co. and Santa Fe Energy, and worked on the Apollo Space Shuttle program. Survivors include his wife; four sons; four daughters; sister Margaret Dube; brother Bob; 29 grandchildren; a great-grandchild. 

JOHN WILLIAM O'DORISIO, 74, of Golden died Sept. 14. Services were Sept. 19, with burial at Crown Hill Cemetery. Mr. O'Dorisio was born in Pueblo on Feb. 14, 1926. He married Nancy Hill, 1948. He served in the Army Air Forces during World War II. He was a regional manager for General American Life. Survivors include his wife; sons John Jr. and Jesse, both of Golden, James of Michigan; daughters Debra Mountain of Golden, Nancy of Wheat Ridge; sister Minnie Diss of Denver; brothers Fred of Denver, Ben of California; 11 grandchildren. 

MARTHA O. OLSON, 90, of Wheat Ridge died Sept. 24. Services were Sept. 29, with burial at Crown Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Olson was born in Tipton, Ind., on April 6, 1910. She married Arthur Olson. She was a teacher. She was a member of Highland Lutheran Church. Survivors include three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. 

JULIA SALAZAR, 76, of Denver died Sept. 27. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, at St. Anthony of Padua Church, with burial at Chapel Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Salazar was born in La Garita on April 16, 1924. She married David Salazar, 1945. Survivors include sons David Jr., Joe and Claude, all of Denver, Sam of Wisconsin; daughters Esther Martinez, Darlene Garcia, Patsy Courtney, Lisa Aragon and Theresa, all of Denver; 22 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren. 

MARK ALEXANDER SHELDON, 46, of Pueblo died Sept. 23. Services were Sept. 27. Mr. Sheldon was born in Greenwich, Conn., on Aug. 12, 1954. He married Claudette Sheldon. He was a proprietor of Auto West. He was an avid race-car driver. Survivors include his wife; children Kelly, Casey and Cody, all of Pueblo, and Nichole of Golden; father Henry of Connecticut; brothers Hurf of New York, Gregg of British Columbia. 

MILDRED C. SOUDERS, 85, of Commerce City died Sept. 26. Services were Sept. 29, with burial at Crown Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Souders was born in Wilmington, Del., on May 10, 1915. She married Leslie Souders, 1933. She volunteered at Wheat Ridge Senior Center and Lutheran Medical Center. Survivors include son William of Arizona; daughters Clara Clark of Nevada, Jeannette Randall of Commerce City, Joanne Otis of Lakewood; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren. 

ELLA R. TILTON, 98, of Lakewood died Sept. 26. Services were Sept. 30, with committal at Lakeside Cemetery. Mrs. Tilton was born in Ness City, Kan., on April 29, 1902. She married Robert Tilton. Survivors include daughter Bertha Richmond of Oregon; son Roy Fahrenholtz of Lakewood; stepson Beryl of Cañon City; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchild. 

ROSE WEINBERG, 96, of Denver died Sept. 22. Inurnment was at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Ms. Weinberg was born in Denver on Sept. 18, 1904. She served in the Navy as a nurse during World War II. She was head nurse of the Visiting Nurses Association in Massachusetts. She is survived by brother David of Denver. 

JAMES TODD WHITE, 27, of Thornton died Sept. 11. Services were Sept. 15, with burial at Chapel Hill Cemetery. Mr. White was born in St. Louis on Jan. 17, 1973. He served in the Navy. He was a technician at Dover Elevator Co. Survivors include fiancee Sheela Chavez of Thornton; daughter Caitlin of Aurora; parents James and Diana of Aurora; brother Josh of Aurora; sister Shayla of Aurora; grandmother LaVerne Harlow of Missouri. 

JOSEPH VERNON WILCOX, 46, of Parker died Sept. 25. Services were Sept. 29. Mr. Wilcox was born in Denver on April 13, 1954. He married Roxann Wilcox, 1987. He founded Salutations, a theme decor business. He was a member of the Denver International Rotary Club, a master Mason, a Shriner of the Scottish Rite and a member of the Eastern Star. Survivors include his wife; son Austin of Parker; parents Jack and Geneva of Denver; sister Jackie Kroencke of Texas. 

DONALD WALTER YOUNG, 53, of Denver died Sept. 17. Services were Sept. 20. Mr. Young was born in Denver on March 7, 1947. He served in the Marine Corps in the Vietnam War, winning many medals. Survivors include brother Johnny of Denver; stepbrother Mike Chandler of Thornton.
