Private services for Alma Opal Hybarger, 83

DOWNEY-Services will be private for Alma Opal Hybarger, a former teacher and school administrator and an 11 year resident of Downey, who died at her home March 18.

She was 83, born in Texas, and worked for Prince George's County Board of Education in Maryland. She was a school teacher and administrator for 45 years.

Survivors include her daughter, Karen S. Cartano of Downey; her son, Dr. Charles P. Hybarger of Fairfax; sisters Ida Mae Pierce of Oklahoma and Ruby Jean Parker of Texas; granddaughters Wendy Cartano, April Karson, Lisa Hybarger and Eva Hybarger; and a great-granddaughter, Alyssa Karson.

Arrangements are by the Downey Zrelak Family Mortuary.

Betty Jane Nellie Piano mourned at age of 67

WHITTIER-Graveside services were held Saturday, March 20, at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier for Betty Jane Nellie Piano, a former Downey resident who died March 17 at her home in Lakeport.

She was 67, born July 28, 1931 in Huntington Park. She grew up in Bell Gardens and Downey, and was employed for 10 years as a cosmetics sales clerk for JC Penney here.

Survivors include her son, David Piano of Lake Havasu; a daughter, Pamela Allen of Lakeport; a brother Charles Wyatt and his wife, Jackie of Carson City, Nevada; and grandchildren Dennis Allen, Paula Piano, Jimmie Allen, Kelly Piano, Kris Allen, and Katie Allen.

Arrangements were by the Chapel of the Lakes in Lakeport.
