A native of Kansas City, Missouri, he died Feb. 20 following a long illness.
Survivors include his wife; daughters Deanna Mason, Mary Cavazos and Kim Wolfe; mother Delores Gray; brothers and sisters, all from Kansas City, Missouri; and stepdaughters Robin Willson, Shawna Renek; sons-in-laws and six grandchildren.
He passed away at Downey Community Hospital on March 4 at the age of 76, and was a resident of Downey for the past 39 years.
Born in Pennsylvania, he was employed at Bethlehem Steel and was a member of the Ukranian Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Eva Homiak; a son, Norman Homiak; a daughter, Gail (John) Eros of Downey; sisters Irene Rowe of Ohio and Helen Beyers of Indiana; and three grandchildren.
A 23 year Downey resident, Rasmussen, 77, was born in Racine, Wisconsin May 17, 1919, and passed away at Lakewood Regional Medical Center Feb. 28. He was a salesman for the Qualified Wholesale Electrical Supply Company, a veteran of World War II, a 32 degree Mason for 53 years, an El Bekal Shriner, a 37 year member of Alcoholics Anonymous and an avid fisherman and golfer.
He was survived by his wife of 51 years, Joan D. Rasmussen; sons John of Huntington Beach and Paul of Grand Junction, Colo.; daughters Kristine Cerone of Huntington Beach and Jane Rasmussen of Hermosa Beach; grandchildren Rick, Danielle and Paul Cerone; and great-granddaughter Ashley Blair.
Burial followed at Riverside National Cemetery.
She was born in West Branch, Iowa, and died March 5 in Downey Community Hospital.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Martin; a sister Evelyn Ziesmer of Iowa; nieces, nephews and many friends.
Pastor John Rose will officiate.
Interment is private. Arrangements are by the Miller-Mies Mortuary of Downey.
A native of Illinois, he was president of Kelbey Construction for 60 years. He was a member of the First Church of Christian Science.
