Mary Ann McDow is mourned by many here

DOWNEY-A Funeral Mass will be heard today (Friday, Oct. 24) at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church for Mary Ann McDow, a homemaker and resident of Downey for 24 years.

She was 81, a native of Jerome, Arizona, and died Oct. 19 at Whittier Presbyterian Hospital. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Karla Ann Metzger of Downey; a son, Forrest McDow of Whittier; a sister, Aurora Basker of Tucson, Arizona; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

The Reverend John Moloney will officiate. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Downey Zrelak Family Mortuary.

Memorial service held for Raymond G. Kramer

DOWNEY-Memorial services were held Monday, Oct. 20, at the Miller-Mies Mortuary Chapel for Raymond G. Kramer, a 25-year Downey resident and a retired employee of Aerospace Corp. of El Segundo, who died of cancer and kidney failure caused by diabetic complications Oct. 15.

He was born in Chilton, Wisconsin and was 78. He was a member of the Elks Club, the B-17 Combat Crewmen and Wingmen, the Caterpillar Club, and the Wisconsin Boxing Alumni.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Lorraine; two daughters, Sohn Reynolds and Kai Kramer; and his loyal Yorkie, Heidi.

Father Steve Davoren officiated. Cremation niche followed at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Cypress.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association, or the Hospice Clinishare.

Services held for Mary Bernice Schell

DOWNEY-Services were held Oct. 23 at the First Baptist Church of Downey for Mary Bernice Schell, a Downey resident for 58 years and a homemaker.

She was 85, born in Nebraska, and died Oct. 20 in Downey Community Hospital.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Downey.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Schell, a brother Archie Miller, a sister Marjorie Miller, a niece Lorie Miller, and grandson Kevin Bleul.

Survivors include her son, Robert (Carol) Schell; a daughter, Barbara (George) Bleul; five grandchildren, Mark and Michael Schell, Christine (Schell) Fallon, Heide King, and Peter Bleul; and seven great-grandchildren.

Pastor James Eggert officiated. Burial followed at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier.

Arrangements were by the Miller-Mies Mortuary of Downey.

Friends mourn Florence Marie Bonnie-Meister

DOWNEY-Funeral services and burial will be in Atkinson, Illinois for Florence Marie Bonnie-Meister, a 24-year Downey resident and a former electronic assembler for 32 years at Rockwell International, who died Oct. 18 at Downey Community Hospital.

She was 84, born in Des Moines, Iowa, and was a former resident of Whittier.

Survivors include her husband, Gurgen H.M. Meister of Downey.

Arrangements are by the Downey Zrelak Family Mortuary.
