Olga Amelia Breese mourned at age of 89

DOWNEY-Services will be held today (Friday, April 4) at 1 p.m. at the Messiah Lutheran Church for Olga Amelia Breese, a 38 year Downey resident before moving to Laguna Niguel, who died March 31.

She was 89, born in Canton, South Dakota April 23, 1907.

She was preceded in death by husband Harry Breese in 1979 and son Duane Blumm in 1986.

Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Manns of Laguna Niguel; a brother, Morris Rise of Oregon; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Pastor Norman W. Stoppenhagen will officiate. Burial will follow at Inglewood Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Downey Zrelak Family Mortuary.


Friends, family mourn Angelina R. Camatti

DOWNEY-A Funeral Mass was heard Thursday, April 3, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church for Angelina R. Camatti, a resident of Downey since 1951.

Born in Los Angeles Oct. 9, 1912, she was 84, and died March 29 in Kaiser Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gino Camatti, who died in 1989.

Survivors include her daughter, Lucille Allevato of Rancho Santa Marguerita; a son, Gino Camatti, Jr., of Los Angeles; grandchildren Cecilia Quail, Joe and Angela Allevato; and great-grandson Alex Romualdo.

The Rev. Father John Moloney officiated. Interment followed at Calvary Cemetery.

Arrangements were by the Downey Zrelak Family Mortuary.


Rose Francis Sweeney services set tomorrow

DOWNEY-Services for Rose Francis Sweeney, a resident of Downey for 60 years and former accountant for Rheem Corp., will be held at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow (Saturday, April 5), at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.

She was 91, born in Illinois, and died April 1 in Downey.

She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.

Survivors include numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Father John will officiate. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Los Angeles. Arrangements are by the Miller-Mies Mortuary of Downey.


Downey's Najla Haddad mourned at age of 87

DOWNEY-Services were held Monday, March 31, at St. Raymond's Catholic Church for Najla Haddad, a 20 year resident of Downey and homemaker, who died at Downey Community Hospital March 27. She was born in Jordan was age 87 and was a member of St. Raymond's Catholic Church.

Survivors include her sons, Ayoub Haddad, Alias Haddad and Zuhair Haddad all of Downey, Shakee Haddad of Detroit, Michigan; two daughters, Freedh Jreisat of Downey, Asma Haddad of Detroit; 34 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.

Burial followed at All Souls Cemetery. Fr. Steve Davoren officiated. Arrangements were by the Miller-Mies Mortuary of Downey.
