Robert A. Barker, 72, of San Diego died Monday. He was born in California. He worked at Naval Electronics for 15 years and retired from UCSD as the technical director of the linguistics department after 24 years. Mr. Barker served in the Navy during the Korean War.

John D. "J.D." Birchum, 72, of Chula Vista died April 23. He was born in Moody, Texas, and was retired from the Navy. Mr. Birchum served in the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Navy Fleet Reserve.
Survivors include his wife, Rudy L. Birchum; daughters, Evelyn Dungee, Carolyn Propsner and Lana Thompson; son, John D. Birchum III; and eight grandchildren.

William John Huth, 68, of San Diego died Sunday. He was born in Hoboken, N.J., and was a credit/collection manager. He served in the Army during the Korean War.
