OTIS O. BRADY

Funeral for Otis Ollin Brady, 82, of Crossett, will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Frazer's Funeral Home in Warren. Burial will be in Smyrna Cemetery near Johnsville under the direction of Frazer's Funeral Home of Warren.

CINDY D. CARTER

Cindy Dawn Carter, 40, of Camden, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2001, at UAMS Hospital in Little Rock.

Born Feb. 28, 1961, in Warren, she was the daughter of J.C. Adams and Mary Elizabeth Young Adams. She was an employee of B.A.E. Systems and also attended SAU Tech in East Camden. She was a member of Banks Missionary Baptist Church and also an artist. She was also active with the March of Dimes and the American Cancer Society. She was preceded in death by her mother.

Survivors include two sons, Christopher Shaun Adams and Derek Samuel Carter, both of Warren; her father and stepmother, J.C. and Irene Adams of Warren; a brother, Clay Adams of Warren; two sisters, EuGenia Carol Roy of Benson, Ariz., and Mary Allison Hudson of Banks; her paternal grandmother, Mrs. Curtis Adams of Warren; two stepbrothers, Danny Denton of Lake Charles, La., and Chris Denton of Hermitage; and a stepsister, Debbie Beard of Banks.

Funeral will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Frazer's Chapel. Burial will be in Union Cemetery at Rye under the direction of Frazer's Funeral Home of Warren. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

BEVERLY P. GRIFFITH

Beverly P. Griffith, 56, of El Dorado, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2001, at Medical Center of South Arkansas.

Born Oct. 24, 1946, in Ruston, La., she was the daughter of Elton Pilgreen and Ida Clay Pilgreen. She was a nurses' aid at Leisure Lodge, Hudson Nursing Home and Alpine Nursing Home in Ruston. She was also employed with Home Health Care. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Mildred Pearson; and her husband, Jimmy D. Griffith Sr. 

Survivors include a son, Jimmy D. Griffith Jr. of Ellisville, Miss.; a daughter, Marsha Taylor of El Dorado; a brother, Elmer Pilgreen of Dubach, La.; and a sister, Barbara McKinney of Houston, Texas.; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Scotland Cemetery with the Rev. Phil Pinckard officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.

VIRGINIA A. KIGHT

Virginia Annette Kight, 89, of Pasadena, Texas, and formerly of Warren, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2001, at Bay Shore Hospital at Pasadena.

Born March 28, 1912, in Bradley County, she was the daughter of John Lewis Taylor and Mary Etta Hall Taylor. She was a member of Park Temple Baptist Church and was a retired concession vendor for the Houston Post. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Jamie Kight; and her husband, Andrew Hunter Kight.

Survivors include three sons, the Rev. Andy Kight of Pasadena, Adrian Kight of Onalaska, Texas, and Danny Kight of Spring, Texas; a brother, Robert Taylor of Warren; 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Frazer's Chapel. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery under the direction of Frazer's Funeral Home of Warren. 

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

VERNA F. MINTON

Funeral for Verna F. Minton, 87, of El Dorado, will be at 2 p.m. today at Young's Chapel with Dr. Lynn Worthen and the Rev. Wilson Borovskis officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors. The family will be at 1303 Robinson. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 200 W. MARY E. TOMLINSON

Mary Eloise Tomlinson, 72, of El Dorado, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2001, at her home.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Young's Chapel with Dr. George McCoy officiating. Services will be under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.

The family will be at 931 Maplewood.

MERVIN L. ANDERSON

Mervin Lorett Anderson, 85, of Smackover, died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2000, at Medical Center of South Arkansas. 

She was a member of Smackover First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam B. Anderson; her parents Mr. and Mrs. M. A. Stough; four brothers, six sisters and two grandsons.

Survivors include two sons, Sam Anderson of Smackover and Martin Anderson of Crossett; two daughters, Nancie Ormond of Sterlington, La., and Windie Joiner of Baton Rouge, La.; a sister, Molly Owens of Prescott; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. today at Proctor Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Proctor Funeral Home.

Graveside services for Jerome B. Brown, 75, of Magnolia, will be at 2 p.m. today in Pleasant Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Trey Lewis officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Rumph-Owers Funeral Home.

ARNOLD G. CARTER

Arnold G. Carter, 82, of Harrell, died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2000, at Hampton Nursing Center.

Born Jan. 31, 1918, in Banks, he was the son of Alvin G. and Jobie Erwin Carter. He was a retired heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the Army and Air Force for 23 years and a member of Canaan Baptist Church in Harrell. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Gladys Cummings Carter; and three brothers, Travis, Victor and James Carter.

Survivors include five sons, James Carter of Pleasanton, Texas, Robert Carter of Searcy, Grady Carter of Little Rock, Ronald Carter of Harrell and Danny Carter of Little Rock; three daughters, Phanee Love of Camden, Glenda Gaenzel of Pleasanton, Texas, and Paula Sue Gates of Harrell; two brothers, Pete Carter of Harrell and Bill Carter of El Dorado; five sisters, Iver Bradford of Warren, Clydie Thornton of Hampton, Gladys Pinson of Magnolia, Everine Neely of Village and Ozell Clontz of Harrell; 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Victory Baptist Church in Hampton with Ricky Smith and the Revs. Horace Dunn and Mike Colvin officiating. Burial will be in Campground Cemetery under the direction of Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.

Funeral for Lue Gean Gibson, 54, of Junction City, will be at 11 a.m. today at New Hope A.M.E. Church in Junction City. Burial will be in Community Cemetery in Junction City under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Homer, La.

KATHRYN C. HENDERSON

Funeral for Kathryn C. Henderson, 77, of Magnolia, will be at 11 a.m. today at Trinity C.M.E. Church in Magnolia with the Rev. William C. Gantt officiating. Burial will be in 23rd Psalms Cemetery under the direction of Marks Funeral Home of Magnolia.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to service time today at the church.

JOHN R. HOLMES

John Richard "Ricky" Holmes, 43, of El Dorado, died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2000, at Tri-Ward Hospital in Bernice following a brief illness. 

Born Oct. 30, 1956, in El Dorado, he was the son of Louie L. and Marie Holmes. He was employed as a cable installer for Classic Communications and was formerly employed by High Capacity as a machinist. He was a member of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include a daughter, Lindsey Holmes of El Dorado; his parents, Louie and Marie Holmes of El Dorado; a brother, Randy Holmes of El Dorado; and a sister, Laura Holmes of El Dorado.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Bailey Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Mark Staples officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home. 

NERI A. JOYA

Neri Ahida Joya, 9 months, of Nacogdoches, Texas, died Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2000, at Texas Childrens Hospital in Houston.

Born Dec. 3, 1999, in Nacogdoches, Texas, she was the daughter of Andreas and Shannon Ponder Joya. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Michael D. Ponder I; her great-grandmother, Dianne West Welch; and her great-grandfather, Joel Ponder.

Survivors include her parents, Andreas and Shannon Ponder Joya of Nacogdoches; her grandparents, Shelia and David Goode of El Dorado, Marty and Pam McIntire of Waveland, Miss., Jean and James Rushing of Mansfield, La., and Maria Diaz of Central America.

Graveside services were held Sept. 17, 2000, at Sunset Memorial Park Baby Land in Nacogdoches, Texas, with the Rev. Rodolfo Gonzales officiating. Services were under the direction of Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors.

ROBERT K. STOOKEY

Robert Keith Stookey, 37, of San Jose, Calif., died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2000, at San Jose Medical Center following a brief illness.

Born Nov. 3, 1962, in El Dorado, he was the son of Clyde R. and Mary O. Stookey. He was self-employed as an artist and a member of the Baptist faith. He taught art at the New Children's Shelter. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, V.P. Stookey, and his maternal grandparents, R.C. and Norah Overstreet.

Survivors include his parents, Clyde R. "Bobby" Stookey and Mary O. "Lucy" Stookey of El Dorado; a sister, Sonya Hearndon of El Dorado; and his paternal grandmother, Bonnie D. Stookey of Three Creeks.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Dan Williams officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.

Funeral for Brenda Kay Wallace, 47, of Little Rock, and formerly of Junction City, will be at 11 a.m. today at Fellowship Bible Church in Little Rock. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. today in Roselawn Cemetery in Junction City.
