Mr. Vernon Dee "Buck" Dallas
Mr. Vernon Dee "Buck" Dallas, age 68, of Forrest City, died Friday, June 16, 2000, in his home.
Mr. Dallas was born Oct. 28, 1931, in Colt and was the son of Dee Dallas Sr. and Laura Moon Dallas. He lived in St. Francis County most of his life. He was a heavy equipment operator and a former employee of the St. Francis County Road Department. He was also a member of the Beck Spur Baptist Church.
Mr. Dallas married Pauline Chism Dallas, in 1964, and she survives him along with eight daughters, Charlotte Sallis, of Charlotte, N.C., Paulette McGowan, of Palestine, Sheila Gordon, of Paragould, Vernie Dallas Brown, of Colt, Hope Dallas Davenport, of Caldwell, Jenny Abbott, Leosha Bradford and Jackie Busby, all of Forrest City; one son, Shane Dallas of Caldwell; 18 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services for Mr. Dallas were held today, Monday June, 19, 2000, in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home at 2 p.m., with burial in Hughes Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home. Memorials are to be made to the Beck Spur Baptist Church.

Mellie Gameliah Williams
Mellie Gameliah Williams, age 88, of Forrest City, died Sunday, June 18, 2000, at Cross Ridge Hospital in Wynne.
Mr. Williams was born August 12, 1911, to W. Henry Williams and Katie Arbell McGuire Williams in Hamilton, Ala. He was a retired machinist with The Mechanics in Rockford, Ill,. but had lived in St. Francis County since 1972. He was also a member of the Wynne Church of God.
Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his wife, Linnie Laveytia Williams; two sons, James Owell Williams and Harold Choice Williams; three brothers, Thomas Reed, Maxwell Williams and Joseph Williams; and two sisters, Artie Foltz and Versie Bussell. He is survived by two brothers, Alvin Williams, of Burlison, Tenn., and David Williams, of Waldo; a sister, Dovie Nesler, of Hickory Ridge; two grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
A graveside service for Mr. Williams will be held Tuesday, June 20, 2000, at 11 a.m. at Cogbill Cemetery in Wynne with Rev. T.L. Gabbard officiating. Visitation will be Monday, June 19, 2000, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Kernodle Funeral Home. Kernodle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be sent to the Wynne Church of God. 

Thelma Lee Polk
Thelma Lee Polk, age 72, died Saturday, June 17, 2000.
Mrs. Polk was born April 3, 1928, in Somerville, Tenn., to Hattie Roberson and Ollie Williams. She was a member of the Williams Temple Church of God in Christ in Palestine and was a member of the usher board.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a brother and five sisters.
She is survived by four sons, Marvin Polk and Jerry Polk, both of San Diego, Calif, Billy Polk, of Colt, Kenneth Polk, of Chicago, Ill.; six daughters, Betty McKinney, of Palestine, Elizabeth Dukes, of Forrest City, Odell Gandy, of Spanish Lake, Mo., Lucille Polk, of Colt, Dianne Polk, of San Diego, Calif., Detric Polk, of Detroit, Mich.; two brothers, Percy Williams, of Alabama, Charlie Williams, of Chicago, Ill.; five sisters, Freddie Sprouls, of Lexington, Miss., Hattie Matthews, of Benton Harbor, Mich., Doretha Jones, Ruthie Porter and Lonnie Watkins, all of Chicago, Ill.; 18 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be Saturday, June 24, 2000, at Williams Temple at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Paradise Garden under the direction of Anthony Funeral Home. 

Doris H. Cooper
Doris H. Cooper, age 88, of Caldwell, died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2000, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-East in Memphis.
Mrs. Cooper was born Nov. 23, 1911, in St. Louis, Mo. and was a farmer.
She is survived by two sons, Eddie Holmes, of Caldwell, Connie Holmes, of St. Louis, Mo.; nine daughters, Arleatha Cooks, Doreatha Black, Dorothy Mae White, Everlyn George and Anna Marie Hamilton, all of Forrest City, Ella Hall, of Covert, Mich., Lovie Smith, of St. Louis, Mo., Arlean Henderson, of Earle, Earnestine Holmes, of Caldwell; 78 grandchildren, 151 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2000, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Clay Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2000, at 1 p.m. at Days Temple Church of God in Christ with Elder John Henry Jennings officiating. Burial will be in Paradise Garden Cemetery in Edmondson under the direction of Clay Funeral Home. 

Virginia Woods Danehower
Mrs. Virginia Woods Danehower, age 76, of Forrest City, died Monday, Oct. 2, 2000, in her home.
Mrs. Danehower, born June 18, 1924, in Tupelo, was the daughter of Kyle K. Woods and Hazel Collier Woods. She lived most of her life in Forrest City where she was a school teacher and managed a farm manager with her husband Sam Danehower. She was a member of the St. Francis County Fair Board, the Variety Club and was also a member of Graham Memorial Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Danehower was preceded in death by her husband Sam, in 1998, and is survived by three daughters, Martha Boyd, of Winchester, Ken., Carol Danehower, of Memphis, and Kim Danehower, of Madison, Tenn.; a son, Chuck Danehower, of Halls, Tenn.; a brother, Kyle Woods, of Forrest City; and two grandchildren.
Visitation services for Mrs. Danehower will be Wednesday, October 4, 2000, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services for Mrs. Danehower will be Thursday, October 5, 2000, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Stevens Funeral Home with Rev. Lisa Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Forrest Park Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Mrs. Lucile Davenport Bridgforth
Mrs. Lucile Davenport Bridgforth, age 94, of Forrest City, died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000, at Crestpark Nursing Home in Forrest City.
Mrs. Bridgforth was born in Forrest City on Dec. 5, 1905, to Louis Edward Davenport and Mary Folbre Davenport. She lived in Forrest City all of her life and was retired from the State Revenue Office. Mrs. Bridgforth was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd.
She married Otto Bridgforth in 1960, and he preceded her in death in 1976. Mrs. Bridgfoth is survived by two step-sons, Otto Bridgforth Jr., of Nashville and Bill Bridgforth of Pine Bluff.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Bridgforth will be held Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000, at 2:30 p.m. in the City Cemetery in Forrest City, with the Father Tom Newman officiating. Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Floyd Cooper Jones Jr.
Mr. Floyd Cooper Jones Jr., age 70, of Holland, Mo., died Monday, Nov. 27, 2000, at Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti, Mo.
Mr. Jones was born Feb. 4, 1930, in Holland, Mo., to Cooper and Azalee Jones. Mr. Jones was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God in Steele, Mo., and he served as a board member for We Care Ministries. He was also a veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Willie B. Jones, of Holland, Mo.; three sons, Rodger Jones, of Forrest City, Russell Jones, of Chickasaw, Ala., Bruce Jones, of Douglasville, Ala.; three daughters, Connie Peters, of Childersburg, Ala., Cathy Snyder, of Anniston, Ala., Annette Turman, of Conway; four brothers, Mervel Jones, James Jones, both of Honersville, Mo., Larry Jones, of Steele, Mo., Phillip Jones, of Brunswick, Ohio; two sisters, Violet Christian, of Overland Park, Kan., Charlotte Bounds, of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Jones were held Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000, at the Pentecostal Church of God in Steele, Mo., with Bro. Gary Andrews and Bro. William Witcher officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele, Mo., under the direction of John W. German Funeral Home.

Leslie Williams
Mr. Leslie Williams, age 53, of Forrest City, died Monday, Jan. 29, 2001, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.
Mr. Williams was born May 1, 1947, in Tillatoba, Miss., the son of Ruthie Bradford. He was the director of Counseling Services of Eastern Arkansas, and he was also a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Mr. Williams is survived by his wife, Gwendolyn C. Williams of Forrest City; two sons, Jason Williams and Justen Williams, both of Forrest City; his mother; six brothers, L. C. Poole of Hayward, Calif., Joe Williams of Forrest City, John Williams and Glen Williams, both of Memphis, Charles Williams of San Francisco and Huley Williams of Charleston, Miss.; seven sisters, Cleotha Flowers and Lizzie Matherson, both of Milwaukee, Wis., Girdine Smith of Charleston, Miss., Christine Dumas of Riverdale, Ill., Essie Bland of Chicago, Ill., and Bessie Reed and Winnie Mae Johnson, both of Memphis and one grandchild.
Funeral services for Mr. Williams will be Friday, Feb. 2, 2001, at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church with Rev. Ronald Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Forrest City Cemetery under the direction of Clay Funeral Home. 

Hunter Paul Brown
Mr. Hunter Paul Brown, age 83, of Forrest City, died Wednesday, April 16, 2001, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-East in Memphis.
Mr. Brown was born March 30, 1918, and was the son of Ruffin T. Brown and Mary Roland Brown. He had been a lifetime resident of St. Francis County and a charter member of Forrest Hills Methodist Church. Mr. Brown served during World War II in the U.S. Air Force and worked for a sign company and the post office prior to retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Dishion Brown of the home; a daughter, Paulette Jones of Batesville; three sisters, Louise Dearrington and Elizabeth Boswell, both of Forrest City and Mildred Stevens of Parsons, Tenn. and two grandchildren. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by one son, David Brown and three brothers, Teel Brown, Fred Brown and Mack Brown.
Funeral services for Mr. Brown were held Wednesday, April 18, 2001, at Morgan Funeral Home with Bro. Floyd Ray, Bro. David Ramsey and Bro. Gary Malone officiating the services under the direction of Morgan Funeral Home.

Helen Roberta Gilbreth
Mrs. Helen Roberta Gilbreth, age 83, of Forrest City, died Saturday, June 2, 2001, at her home.
Mrs. Gilbreth was born Dec. 23, 1917, in Grand Glaze, and was the daughter of C.N. Wood and Ethel Taylor Wood. She lived in Forrest City all of her life, was a housewife and a member of Village Creek Baptist Church.
Mrs. Gilbreth was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Gilbreth in 1979. She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Franks and Vicki Taylor, both of Forrest City; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Gilbreth was also preceded in death by a daughter, Toni Jean Gilbreth in 1943 and a granddaughter, Robin Taylor in 1979.
Visitation for Mrs. Gilbreth will be Monday, June 4, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 5, 2001, at 2 p.m., at the Village Creek Baptist Church with Bro. Albert Young and Bro. David Yates officiating the service. Burial will follow at Forrest Park Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Evan Meyer
Mr. Evan Meyer, age 28, of Forrest City, died Thursday, May 31, 2001, at his home.
Mr. Meyer was employed as a mill wright.
He is survived by his mother, Doris Johnston of Forrest City; his father, Howard Meyer; a sister, Toni Heath of Wynne and a brother, Aric Butowsky of Mt. Vernon, Ind.
Funeral services for Mr. Meyer were held Sunday, June 3, 2001, at 2 p.m., at Lindsey Cemetery in Forrest City under the direction of Roller-Citizens Funeral Home of West Memphis. 

Norah "Jack" Dawson
Mr. Norah "Jack" Dawson, aged 91, of Forrest City, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2001, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.
Mr. Dawson, born Dec. 15, 1909 in Forrest City, was the son of Norah Dawson Sr. and Fruzzie Turner Dawson. He was an employee of Woodhouse Mortuary for 15 years where he served as a funeral attendant.
Mr. Dawson was preceded in death by his wife Annie Mae Parker Dawson and is survived by a sister, Mattie Fleming of Gary, Ind. and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held, Thursday, Oct. 25, 2001, at 2 p.m. at Summerfield M.B. Church with Rev. Willie Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Forrest City Cemetery under the direction of Woodhouse Mortuary.

Marshall Ford Fussell
Mr. Marshall Ford Fussell, age 75, of Forrest City, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2001, at Baptist Memorial Hospital - Forrest City.
Mr. Fussell was born Jan. 17, 1926, in Forrest City and was the son of James V. Fussell and Mildred Ford Fussell. He was a salesman, a graduate of the University of Arkansas in 1948 and a Presbyterian.
Mr. Fussell is survived by a son, Marty Fussell of Little Rock; a daughter, Michelle Keller of Little Rock and a grandson.
Graveside funeral services for Mr. Fussell will be held Thursday, Oct. 25, 2001, at 2 p.m., at Forrest Park Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Elton Bernard Rogers
Mr. Elton Bernard Rogers, age 37, of Sherman Oak, Calif., died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2001, at his home in California.
Mr. Rogers was born June 6, 1964, in Forrest City and was the son of Floyd Rogers of Forrest City and Mertha Bridges Williams of St. Louis, Mo. He was a Baptist.
Mr. Rogers is survived by his parents; a brother, Michael Rogers of Forrest City; five sisters, Pamela Rogers, Ella Rogers, Doris Rogers and Yoshilda Williams, all of St. Louis, Mo. and Leatha Cross of Forrest City; and a grandmother, Ideltra Beacham of Youngstown, Ohio.
Visitation for Mr. Rogers will be held Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2001, at Brown Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 25, at 11 a.m., at Stanley Grove Cemetery in Caldwell with Rev. Verlee Lucas officiating the service under the direction of Brown Funeral Home in Pine Bluff. 

Horace Donald Lindsey
Mr. Horace Donald Lindsey, age 78, of Forrest City, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2001, in Memphis.
Mr. Lindsey was born July 7, 1923, in Quitman, and was the son of William Simpson Lindsey and Edna Earl VunCannan Lindsey. He had made his home in Forrest City most of his life where he was retired from Eaton Corporation and was a member of the St. Francis Catholic Church.
Mr. Lindsey is survived by his wife, Ernestine P. Hess Lindsey; three daughters, Diane Lindsey of Forrest City, Doris Lindsey of Conway and Debra Frizzell of Austin, Texas; two sons, Donald W. Lindsey of Broken Arrow, Okla. and David J. Lindsey of Inola, Okla. and six grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Lindsey will be held Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Stevens Funeral Home followed by a Rosary at 7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, Dec. 1, 2001, at 10 a.m., at St. Francis Catholic Church, with burial to follow at Hughes Cemetery, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
The family requests memorials be made to the St. Francis Catholic Church.

Clentis R. Oxner
Mr. Clentis R. Oxner, age 87, of Marianna, died, Thursday, Nov. 29, 2001, at his home.
Mr. Oxner, born Feb. 15, 1914, in Oak Forrest, was the son of Lazarus Enoch Oxner and Cora Ann Johnson. He was a retired employee of D&L Manufacturing in Marianna and a Methodist by faith.
Mr. Oxner was preceded in death by his wife, Carrie Oxner. He is survived by three daughters, Carolyn Skinner of Bradford, Eugenia Boals of Rondo and Patsy Richart of Forrest City; a son, Harvey Oxner of Hot Springs; two sisters, Dorothy Pickens of Marianna and Kathryn Bosnick of Moro; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Oxner will be held Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in Marianna. There will be a graveside funeral service for Mr. Oxner, Saturday, Dec.1, 2001, at 2 p.m. at Marianna Memorial Park with Rev. Eddie Addison officiating. Roller-Citizens Funeral Home of Marianna is in charge of arrangements. 

Jackson Curtright
Mr. Jackson Curtright, age 62, of Wynne, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.
Mr. Curtright was born Dec. 28, 1939 in Brinkley, and was the son of the late Willard Richard Curtright and Annie Mae Ellen Waggle Curtright. He was owner and operator of Jack's Office Equipment in Wynne and had worked as a printer for the Brinkley Argus newspaper and Flynt Office Supply Co. in Wynne. Mr. Curtright was an elder at the Faith Lutheran Church in Forrest City and was a former member of the Arkansas National Guard.
He is survived by his wife, Judith Faith Frese Curtright of Wynne; three daughters, Anna Marie Curtright Robinette of Sandy, Utah, Kristy Michelle Curtright McKnight and Jessica Leigh Curtright, both of Wynne; two sisters, Eva Louise Cox and Shirley Ann Stacey, both of Searcy; and two grandchildren.
Visitation for Mr. Curtright will be held Friday, Feb. 8, 2002, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Kernodle Funeral Home. Funeral services for Mr. Curtright will be conducted Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002, at 1 p.m., at Faith Lutheran Church in Forrest City, with Rev. Leland Elwood Bush officiating the service. Burial will follow in Crosslawn Cemetery in Wynne under the direction of Kernodle Funeral Home.
The family request memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society or the Lutheran Radio Hour.

Alice Alzada Smith
Mrs. Alice Alzada Smith, age 67, of Forrest City, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, at Baptist Hospital-East in Memphis.
Mrs. Smith was born May 30, 1934 in Wynne, and was the daughter of Dyke Andrew Baldwin and Ona Bell Hicks Baldwin. She was a homemaker and lived in St. Francis and Cross County all of her life.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Smith; one son, Mike Smith; a daughter, Linda Davis; her parents; a brother, Clarence Baldwin; and a sister, Laura Bell Baldwin.
She is survived by four sons, Jackie Smith, Ray Smith, Rick Smith and Sammy Smith, all of Colt; three daughters, Jenny Douglas of Forrest City, Polly Douglas of Lewisburg, Tenn. and Lois Morian of Gillett; four brothers, Richard Baldwin of Forrest City, Billy Ray Baldwin of Taoka, Texas, D.A. Baldwin and Donald Gene Baldwin, both of Little Rock; four sisters, Mamie Coleman of Widener, Charlene Melton of Parkin, Betty Ware of Mena and Rose Elkins of North Little Rock; 20 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Smith will be conducted on Friday, Feb. 8, 2002, at 1 p.m., at Kernodle Funeral Home with Rev. Allen Elkins officiating the service. Eugene Austin
Mr. Eugene Austin, age 82, of Forrest City, died Friday, May 24, 2002, at Arkansas Hospice Center in Little Rock.
Mr. Austin was born Oct. 6, 1919, in Elaine and was a retired maintenance man and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Mr. Austin is survived by two daughters Icy Dee Austin and Phyllis Elerby both of Little Rock and five sons Beyah Aluqdah, Gene Edward Austin and Marvin Austin all of St. Louis Mo. and Willard Austin and Gary Wayne Austin both of Little Rock.
Visitation for Mr. Austin will be held at Clay Funeral Home Friday, May 31, 2002 from 12 p.m.. to 5 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Lane Chapel C.M.E. Church June 1, 2002, at 11 a.m., Rev. Ronald A. Williams. Burial to follow at Forrest City Cemetery under the direction of Clay Funeral Home.

Virginia Peacock
Mrs. Virginia Peacock, age 71, of Forrest City, died Tuesday, May 28, 2002, at her home.
Mrs. Peacock was born in Forrest City on Dec. 4, 1930, and was a retired line inspector for Sanyo Manufacturing.
Mrs. Peacock is survived by her husband, William Cotelia Peacock of Forrest City; three sons, Cecil M. Peacock, Reginor G. Peacock and Henry E. Peacock, all of Forrest City; two daughters, Brenda A. Peacock of Wake Village, Texas and Gwinda R. Wright of Forrest City; two brothers, James White Jr. and William Sherman White, both of Forrest City and two sisters, Lillie M. Ward of Los Angeles, Calif. and Wilma J. Johnson of Forrest City.
Visitation for Mrs. Peacock will be held at Clay Funeral Home on Friday, May 31, 2002 from 1 to 5 p.m. and at Prosperity M.B. Church on Saturday, June 1, 2002 from 2:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. Funeral services will take place at Prosperity Missionary Baptist Church at Saturday, June 1, 2002, at 3:30 p.m. with Rev. Uzziah Duncan officiating. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery under the direction of Clay Funeral Home.

Cora Stover
Mrs. Cora Stover, age 54, of Forrest City, died Tuesday, May 28, 2002 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Forrest City.
Mrs. Stover was born Feb. 24, 1948, in Danville, Ill., and was a member of Beck Spur Baptist Church.
Mrs. Stover was married to Parker Lee Stover of Forrest City and is survived by him; two daughters, Pamela Feuston of Muncie, Ind. and Lori Jones of Danville, Ill.; two step-daughters, Valarie Andrews of Wynne and Renee Dunn of Memphis; a step-son, Randall Stover of Brownsville, Texas; a sister, Pam Bann of Danville and a brother, Mike Bann of Danville; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services for Mrs. Stover will be held Friday, May 31, 2002, at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Murphy Funeral Home in Marked Tree with Rev. Wes Beavers officiating. Burial will follow at Tyronza Cemetery under the direction of Murphy Funeral Home. 

Jackson Curtright
Mr. Jackson Curtright, age 62, of Wynne, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Alice Alzada Smith
Mrs. Alice Alzada Smith, age 67, of Forrest City, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, at Baptist Hospital-East in Memphis.
Mrs. Smith was born May 30, 1934 in Wynne, and was the daughter of Dyke Andrew Baldwin and Ona Bell Hicks Baldwin. She was a homemaker and lived in St. Francis and Cross County all of her life.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Smith; one son, Mike Smith; a daughter, Linda Davis; her parents; a brother, Clarence Baldwin; and a sister, Laura Bell Baldwin.
She is survived by four sons, Jackie Smith, Ray Smith, Rick Smith and Sammy Smith, all of Colt; three daughters, Jenny Douglas of Forrest City, Polly Douglas of Lewisburg, Tenn. and Lois Morian of Gillett; four brothers, Richard Baldwin of Forrest City, Billy Ray Baldwin of Taoka, Texas, D.A. Baldwin and Donald Gene Baldwin, both of Little Rock; four sisters, Mamie Coleman of Widener, Charlene Melton of Parkin, Betty Ware of Mena and Rose Elkins of North Little Rock; 20 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Larry Donell Banks
Mr. Larry Donell Banks, age 48, of Marianna, died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City. Mr. Banks, the son of Verna Banks Gipson, was a line worker at Sanyo.
Mr. Banks is survived by his daughter, Amber Banks of Atlanta, Ga.; a son Larry Banks Jr. of Atlanta, Ga.; his mother; three sisters, Evelyn Shackford of Marianna, Relinda Davis of Moro, Alonda Harris of Chicago Ill.; six brothers, Maxie Banks of Helena, Gregory Banks of Memphis, Victor Gipson of Florence, Ala., Robert Gipson, Little Rock, and Darye Ellis and Shaeen Ellis both of Chicago Ill.
Visitation for Mr. Banks will be held Friday, Oct. 4, 2002, from 12 to 5 p.m. at J.E. Kennedy Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 5, 2002, at 1 p.m. at Lee Senior High School with Rev. Justin Doyel officiating. Burial will follow in Gill Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Theaster Blissett
Mrs. Theaster Blissett, age 80, of Forrest City, died Friday, Sept. 27, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Forrest City
Mrs. Blissett, born Nov. 28, 1921, in Palestine, was the daughter of George Alexander and Susan Wiggens. She is survived by three sisters, Annie L. Simmons of Palestine, Barbara Gates of Forrest City and Lillie N. Williams of Memphis.
Visitation services for Mrs. Blissett will be held on Friday, Oct. 4, 2002, from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Woodhouse Mortuary. Funeral services for Mrs. Blissett will be held Saturday, Oct. 5, 2002, at noon at Williams Temple Church of God in Christ with Elder Napolean Grace officiating. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery under the direction of Woodhouse Mortuary.

Rebecca Dale Vaughn Marcum
Mrs. Rebecca Dale "Becky" Vaughn Marcum, age 54, of Forrest City, died Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2002, at her home.
Mrs. Marcum was born Nov. 7, 1947, in Tyronza, the daughter of Bill Vaughn and Opal Vaughn. She lived in Forrest City most of her life and was a housewife.
Mrs. Marcum married Harvey A. Marcum Sr., in 1972, and he survives her along with one son, Harvey Eugene Marcum of Forrest City; one daughter, Amry L. Holland of Harrisburg; one step-son, Harvey A. Marcum Jr. of Memphis; four brothers, Albert Vaughn of Minnesota., Pete Vaughn of Iowa, Jim Vaughn and Thomas Vaughn both of Forrest City; five sisters, Anita Miller of Texas, Kay Christian and Sandy Covey both of Tennessee, Ann Vaughn Banks and Renee Homewood both of Forrest City; and eight grandchildren.

Charles Sullivan
Mr. Charles Sullivan, age 63, of Wynne, died Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2002, at his home.
Mr. Sullivan, a former resident of Forrest City, was an iron worker prior to retiring eight years ago. He was born Aug. 8, 1939, in Birdeye, the son of James Napolean Sullivan and Gladys Cleese Climer Sullivan, and attended school in Cherry Valley. He was also a member of the Local 167 Iron Workers Union in Memphis.
Mr. Sullivan is survived by two sons, Charles David Sullivan and Carey Sullivan, both of Huntsville, Ala.; three sisters, Edna Austin of Searcy, Charline McGuire of Forrest City and Dianne Alley of Marion; two brothers, James Edward Sullivan of Bakersfield, Calif., and Gene Sullivan of Wynne and four grandchildren.
Visitation services for Mr. Sullivan will be held, Thursday, Oct. 3, 2002, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Chapel of Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home. Theodis Alexander
Mr. Theodis Alexander, age 42, of Forrest City, died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Forrest City.
Mr. Alexander, born Jan. 2, 1960, was the son of Elbert Alexander and Pearline Boyd. He is survived by his father, of Little Rock; his mother, of Forrest City; six brothers, Larry Smith Dwayne Alexander and Ricky Alexander, all of Forrest City, Theoplis Alexander and Bruce Alexander, both of Little Rock and Clyde Alexander of Chicago, Ill., and three sisters, Shirley Sinclair of Forrest City, Vickie Alexander of Cleveland, Ohio and Tony Alexander of Helena.

Robert Clarence "Demps" Bowens
Mr. Robert Clarence "Demps" Bowens, age 63, of Chicago, Ill., died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2002.
Mr. Bowens, a retired clerk, was born Dec. 23, 1938, in Heth. He is survived by a son, Joel Bowens of Chicago, Ill.; two brothers, Fred Moore of Forrest City and Mack Bowens of St. Louis, Mo.; and seven sisters, Dorothy Young, Virginia Sutton, Edna Harrel and Carrie Fay Washington, all of Chicago, Ill., Henretta White of Madison, Wisc., Sharon Moore of Memphis and Francis Ursery of St. Louis, Mo.

Thomas G. Grobmyer
Mr. Thomas G. Grobmyer, age 48, of Forrest City, died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2002, at his home.
Mr. Grobmyer was born Dec. 20, 1953, in North Carolina, the son of W.P. "Bill" Grobmyer and Jo Ann Vernon Grobmyer.
Mr. Grobmyer is survived by two sons, Thomas Joshua Grobmyer of Missouri and Jeremy David Grobmyer of Forrest City; two daughters, Amy Renee Marcoux of Florida and Amanda Grobmyer of Forrest City; both his parents of Memphis; four brothers, W.P. Grobmyer Jr. of Forrest City, Stephen L. Grobmyer of Florida, David F. Grobmyer and James Mark Grobmyer, both of Missouri; one sister, Rebecca Corlew of Memphis and four grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Grobmyer were held graveside on Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, at 2 p.m. at Forrest Park Cemetery. Stevens Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.

Thomas W. Wilkie Jr.
Mr. Thomas W. Wilkie Jr., age 102, of Forrest City, died Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, at his home.
Mr. Wilkie was born Aug. 19, 1900, in Riverton, Ill., the son of Thomas William Wilkie and Florence Wilkerson Wilkie. He was a postman, a farmer and a member of the St. Francis County Farm Bureau. He was also a member of the Christian Church of Riverton, Ill.
Mr. Wilkie married Paulyne Vance in 1943, and she survives him along with a daughter, Van Paula Wilkie of Forrest City; two sons, Tony Wilkie and Bill Wilkie both of Forrest City; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Wilkie were held, graveside, Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, at 3 p.m. at Forrest Park Cemetery with Rev. Larry Kelso officiating. Stevens Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements. 

Mary Doyle
Mrs. Mary Doyle, age 86, of Haynes, died Monday, Feb. 3, 2003. She was a retired housekeeper.
Mrs. Doyle is survived by her husband, W.L. Doyle; one son Floyd Bilups of Haynes; 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Frank McKissick
Mr. Frank McKissick, age 71, of Forrest City, died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, at Crestpark Nursing Home. Mr. McKissick, born Aug. 28, 1931, in Goodwin, was the son of Frank McKissick Sr. and Corderliear Weaver McKissick. He is survived by one daughter, Clara Jackson of Shreveport, La.; two sisters, Rosie Hicks of Goodwin and Gloria McFolley of Columbus, Ga.; two brothers; Willie McKissick of Goodwin and Hardy McKissick of Long Beach, Calif.; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Rodney Neal O'Dell
Mr. Rodney Neal O'Dell, age 43, of Colt, died Thursday, March 27, 2003, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.
Mr. O'Dell was born Aug. 2, 1959, in Truman, the son of James Thomas and Elizabeth Rosalee Pierce O'Dell. He was an employee of Fulbright-McNeil, Inc. in Wynne.
Mr. O'Dell is survived by his wife, Teresa Diane Matlock O'Dell; both his parents of Wynne; a daughter, Jennifer Diane O'Dell of Colt; one brother, Jimmy Allen O'Dell of Wynne; and three sisters, Deborah Kay Carter of Wynne, Sandra Lynn Moise of West Memphis and Belinda Marie Adams of McCrory.
Visitation for Mr. O'Dell was held on Sunday, March 30, 2003, in the Chapel of Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home in Wynne. Funeral services were held on Monday, March 31, 2003, at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home in Wynne with Rev. Howard Collier officiating. Burial followed in Loughridge Cemetery in Colt.

Mamie Wade
Mrs. Mamie Wade, age 97, of Madison, died Wednesday, March 19, 2003, at her home.
Mrs. Wade was born Dec. 10, 1905, in Shaw, Miss., the daughter of Albert White and Melissa Parmer White. She was a housewife.
Mrs. Wade is survived by four nieces, Ida Cowin of the home, Lorene Sanders of Chicago, Ill., Geraldine Jones of Azusa, Calif. and Ann Clark of Memphis; three nephews, William White of Madison, Jamie White of Vicksburg, Miss. and Charles White of Huntington Beach, Calif.; and several Godchildren, other family members and friends.
Visitation for Mrs. Wade was held on Friday, March 28, 2003, at the New Light M.B. Church. Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 29, 2003, at the New Light M.B. Church with Rev. Isiah McKeon officiating. Burial followed in the Scott Bond Cemetery in Madison. The J.E. Kennedy Funeral Home in Marianna was in charge of all arrangements.

Martha Elizabeth Wallace
Mrs. Martha Elizabeth Wallace, age 69, of Bullhead, Ariz. and formerly of Forrest City, died Sunday, Feb. 9, 2003.
Mrs. Wallace is survived by her husband, Zack Wallace Jr.; three daughters, Doris Colvin of Forrest City, Patricia Parrish of Marianna and Shannon DiMare of Bullhead; two sons, Robert Shands of California and Kenneth Wallace of Bullhead; two brothers, Arthur Shankle and Billy Shankle both of Forrest City; two sisters, Polly Acree of California and Doris Greenlee of Florida; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert L. Shankle, her mother, Vivian Shankle and a sister, Myrtle B. Scott.
