Lee Cora "Missy" Earl, 82, of Texarkana, Texas, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001, in a local hospital.

Mrs. Earl was born Jan. 15, 1919, in McNeal, Ark. She was a homemaker and a member of Clear Lake Baptist Church and usher board.

Survivors include one sister, Willie Bell Cornelius of Texarkana; three nieces and one nephew-in-law, LaVerne Clark of Texarkana, Joyce and Leevel Taylor of Los Angeles and Janice Hayes of Compton, Calif.; two nephews and one niece-in-law, Odis and Barbara Weaver of Texarkana and Theodis Hayes of Los Angeles; and three special cousins.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Clear Lake Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Hill Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens under direction of Richardson Hill & McFadden Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

GERALINE MAXWELL

ATLANTA, Texas--Geraline "Jerry" Gholson Maxwell, 83, of Bivins, Texas, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001, in Bivins.

Mrs. Maxwell was born Dec. 28, 1917, in Cass County, Texas. She was a retired legal secretary for Atlanta Federal Savings & Loan, co-owner and operator of Crackers Grocery & Station, a Sunday school teacher and member of Bethsaida "Y" Baptist Church and choir. She was preceded in death by her husband, R.F. "Cracker" Maxwell.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Helen Maxwell and Gary and Diana Maxwell of Bivins; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Gale Maxwell and Adrian Ledermann of Brandon, Minn.; four brothers, Lawrence Gholson of Greely, Colo., Horace Gholson and Lindy Gholson of Atlanta and Carroll Gholson of Bivins; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Bethsaida "Y" Baptist Church with the Revs. Clayton Sheets, Adrian Ledermann and Joe Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Laws Chapel Cemetery under direction of Hanner Funeral Service.

DORENE HILL

De QUEEN, Ark.--Dorene Mae Fowler Hill, 70, of De Queen died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001, in a De Queen hospital.

Mrs. Hill was born Feb. 7, 1931, in Wickes, Ark. She was owner of Hill's For Beauty Salon and a Baptist.

Survivors include her husband, Charles William Hill of De Queen; three sons, Jerry Hill and Chad W. Hill of Texarkana and Charles D. Hill of De Queen; one brother, Dwight Fowler of Texarkana; two sisters, Lavelle Alexander and Charlotte Chandler of De Queen; three grandchildren, Blake Hill and Kaylin Hill of Alaska and Jerry L. Hill of Texarkana; two great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Daniel Cemetery, Wickes, with Dr. Dale Hankins officiating. Burial will be under direction of Chandler Funeral Home.

JULIA SMITH

HOPE, Ark.--Julia Smith, 66, of Dallas, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, in Dallas.

Ms. Smith was born Feb. 19, 1935, in Hempstead County.

Survivors include one daughter, Eleanor Bonsack of Dallas, and one grandson, Bradford Bonsack of Dallas.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Herndon Funeral Home with Randy Satterfield officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

MARY HENLEY

Mary Alice Henley, 89, of Queen City, Texas, formerly of Texarkana, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2001, at her home.

Mrs. Henley was born Aug. 10, 1912, in Texline, Texas. She was a homemaker and an Episcopalian. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Henley.

Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Richard and Rose Wilson of Leonardtown, Md., and James Wilson of Texarkana; four grandchildren, James Wilson of Arnold, Md., Michael Wilson of Pasadena, Md., Sharon Henson of Dunkirk, Md., and Kimberly Jenkins of Fayetteville, Ark.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Chapelwood Mausoleum Chapel with the Rev. James Charlton officiating. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

MARY CROWELL

BROKEN BOW, Okla.--Mary Jane Crowell, 72, of Broken Bow died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, at her home.

Mrs. Crowell was born Nov. 12, 1929, in Lyons, Kan. She was a homemaker and a Church of Christ member. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Everett Matthew, and one daughter, Delilah Mae Matthew.

Survivors include her husband, Edwin Crowell of Broken Bow; two sons, Ray Matthew and Craig Matthew of Medicine Lodge, Kan.; three daughters, Dawn Crowell of Garden City, Kan., Lynn Mann of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Ellen Jo Andritch of Milwaukie, Ore.; four stepchildren; two sisters, Jody Lundy of San Antonio and Audie Stackhouse of Medicine Lodge; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Norwood-Coffey-Leonard Funeral Home Chapel with Edwin Crowell and Dawn Crowell officiating. 

Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association.

EDD MYRICK

BROKEN BOW, Okla.--Edd J. Myrick, 81, of Naples, Texas, died Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2001, in Tyler, Texas.

Mr. Myrick was born Nov. 19, 1920, in Eagletown, Okla. He was affiliated with the Assemblies of God.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Black Myrick of Naples; two daughters, Janice Powell of Mount Pleasant, Texas, and Debra Black of Naples; two brothers, Frank Myrick of Eagletown and Raymond Myrick of Clarksville, Texas; one sister, Leola McCarrell of Broken Bow; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in West Otis Cemetery, West Otis community, with Cy Davis officiating. Burial will be under direction of Norwood-Coffey-Leonard Funeral Home.

HOPE, Ark.--Marcia Mendes, 47, of Ozan, Ark., died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001, in Texarkana.

RALPH MARTIN

HOPE, Ark.--Ralph Frank Martin, 74, of Guernsey, Ark., died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001, in a Texarkana hospital.

Mr. Martin was born Nov. 14, 1927, in Washington, Ark. He was retired from the Air Force, a member of St. John United Methodist Church, a Mason and an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. 

Survivors include his wife, Carol Jones Martin of Guernsey; two sons, James Richard Martin of Jefferson, Texas, and Brian Keith Martin of Bismarck, Ark.; three brothers, Bill Martin of Hope, Mack Roberts of Santa Clara, Calif., and Monroe Roberts of Pine Bluff, Ark.; two sisters, Jennie Mae Smith of Blevins, Ark., and Lucy Coleman of Guernsey; one grandson, James Marcus "Bubba" Martin of Jefferson; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rodney Patterson officiating. Burial will be in East Memorial Gardens, Texarkana.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

EDWIN GRICE

Edwin Eugene Grice, 41, of Texarkana, Texas, died Monday, Nov. 26, 2001, at his home.

Mr. Grice was born Dec. 11, 1959, in Florence, S.C. He was employed with Union Pacific Railroad and a Navy veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Grice of Texarkana; one son, Benjamin Eugene Grice of Little Rock; one daughter, Dana Renee Grice of Little Rock; his mother, Sara Ellen Dean; one brother, Gary J. Dean II; and two sisters, Janet Marie Campbell and Linda Arlette Arnot.

Services were Nov. 29, 2001, at Texarkana Funeral Home Fuqua-Everett Memorial Chapel with Bill Bullock officiating. Burial will be in South Carolina.

MARTHA CALLOWAY

Martha B. Calloway, 89, of Simms, Texas, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2001, in a Texarkana hospital.

Arrangements are pending with Chapelwood Funeral Home.

The family will be at the home of Genomia Durham in Maud, Texas.
