Marline Young
Marline Young, 70, of Palestine, died Tuesday, Feb. 20 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in North Little Rock.
She is survived by three sons, Lelon Cross, Jr. of Little Rock, Eddie Cross of Forrest City and Lane Cross of Olive Branch, Miss.; three brothers, J.C. Barnett of Benton Harbor, Mich., Tommy Barnett of Mountain View and Larry Barnett of Cave City; two sisters, Nora Edna Pharr of Zachary, La. and Virginia (Jackie) Hill of Moro; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lacy L. Young, a daughter, Doris June Cross and a son, Wayne Cross.
Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22 at Bell Cemetery in Palestine with Rev. Greg Thompson officiating.
Roller-Citizens Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Marszell Fesperman
Marszell June Fesperman, 60, of Brickeys, died Wednesday, Feb. 21.
She is survived by her husband, John H. Fesperman; two sons, Charles Ray Aunspaugh of Hughes and James Harold Aunspaugh, Jr. of Taylor, Texas; two stepsons, John Allen Fesperman and Ronnie David Fesperman, both of Brickeys; two daughters, Tena Marie Fesperman of Marianna and Helen Sue Chadwick of Heth; four brothers, Billy Garner of Wynne, Jimmy Garner of Forrest City, Tommy Garner of Arlington, Ariz. and Jackie Garner of Yacama, Wash.; a sister, Sue Garner of Bedford, Va.; and 10 grandchildren.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23 at Roller-Citizens Chapel with Rev. Bill Watt officiating. Burial was in Marianna Memorial Park.

N.E. Wooten
N.E. Wooten, 86, died Monday, Feb. 26, at Helena Regional Medical Center. He was a farmer.
Surviving are three sons, Ray Wooten and Richard Wooten of Nacogdoches, Texas and Robert Wooten of West Helena; four sisters, Laura Motsinger of England, Rachea Lance of Helena, Betty Vetkos of Klamath Falls, Or. and Nora Hornbeak of Hughes; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Lee Wooten and one son, Kenneth Edward Wooten.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28 at Rondo Baptist Church with Rev. Austin Hamilton officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena.

Earnest Walton, 49, died Thursday, Feb. 22 at Methodist Hospital in Memphis.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 3 at Lee High School in Marianna.

Arlene Spence
Arlene Connor Spence, 75, of Searcy, died Tuesday, March 20.
She is survived by her husband, Jack B. Spence of Searcy; four sons, Jim W. Spence of Marion, Jack Spence of Colleyville, Texas, and Johnny Spence and Ron Spence, both of Searcy; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 22 at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home in Searcy. Burial was in Gum Springs Cemetery.

Learline Johnson, 69, of Colt, died Tuesday, March 20.
She is survived by her husband, Harold D. Johnson of Aubrey; three sons, Harold Duane Johnson and James R. Johnson, both of Marianna, and John B. Johnson of Lufkin, Texas; two sisters, Dana Boehm of Pea Ridge and Peggy Shank of Little Rock; four brothers, George Conner of El Dorado, Bennie Conner of Barling, Noel Conner of Marianna and Glenn Conner of Durant, Okla.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 22 at Roller-Citizens Chapel with Rev. William Witcher officiating. Burial was in Marianna Memorial Park.

Tommy Stephens
Tommy Stephens, 76, died Tuesday, March 20.
He is survived by a sister, Mellnee Sanford of Marianna; and two brothers, Clifford Stephens of Harrisburg and Alford Stephens of Memphis.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 24 at Roller-Citizens Chapel. Burial was in Marianna Memorial Park.

Earl Duckworth
Earl Wesley Duckworth, 71, died Wednesday, March 21.
He is survived by his wife, Joe Anne "Sue" Duckworth of Marianna; and a sister, Ruby Johnston of Pleasant Hill, Ill.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 24 at Moro Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Elliott officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery in Moro.

Rayburn Kelly, 77, of Moro, died Monday, March 26 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Elizabeth Kelly of Moro; two sons, Bill Kelly of Moro and Gary Kelly of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; three brothers, James Kelly of Little Rock, Billy Kelly of Searcy and Doug Kelly of Cabot; two sisters, Betty Lou Jones Sybil Farrell, both of Harrison; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 28 at Moro Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Jones and Rev. Bill Elliott officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery in Moro.

Johnny Bonds
Johnny C. (Grommie) Bonds Sr., 75, of Rondo, died Friday, July 27, 2001 at Crestpark Nursing Home in Helena.
He had been a farmer all his life.
He is survived by his wife, Etherine Bonds; three sons, Johnny C. Jr. of Little Rock, and Stanley and Calvin of Rondo; two sisters, Wilester Reese and Verba McNichols of Battle Creek, Mich.; three brothers, Willie B. of Chicago, Mossie D. of Lexa and A.D. of Battle Creek; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4 at Sequell M.B. Church in Rondo with Rev. Booker Thomas officiating. Burial as in Sequell Church Cemetery.

Levi Walker
Levi Walker, 89, of Palestine, died Monday, July 30, 2001 at Crestpark Nursing Home in Forrest City.
He is survived by two daughters, Luella Walker of Marianna and Flossy Walker of Clarksdale, Miss.; two sons, Lindon Walker of Goodwin and Sylvester Walker of Chicago; one brother, London Walker of Gill; one sister, Willetta Mathis of Forrest City; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Walker and a son, Levi Walker Jr.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5 at Antioch M.B. Church in Palestine with Rev. James Brown officiating. Burial was in Goodwin Cemetery in Goodwin.

Audria Mooneyhan
Audria Joyce Mooneyhan, 63, of Lexa, died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2001 at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, Miss.
She was a lineworker at the Sanyo Warehouse.
She is survived by four daughters, Beth Lucero of Alamogordo, N.M., Jeannie Padilla and Leah Ann Cole of Marion and Pam Barkley of Mt. Olive, Miss.; two sons, Freddy Mooneyhan of Marion and Tim Mooneyhan of Marianna; two sisters, Betty Sullivan of Marion and Bea Jackson of Marianna; three brothers, Alvin, Ruben and Joe Lovelace, all of Marianna1; 17 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 6 at Roller Citizens Chapel with The Rev. Gene Craig officiating. Burial was in Spring Creek Cemetery in Aubrey.

Irvin Lee
Irvin "Sharp" Lee, 69, died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2001.
He was a retired maintenance foreman for the Marianna Housing Authority and a lifetime member of VFW Post 449.
He is survived by his mother, Dovie Shannon of Heber Springs; two sons, Kevin and Gary Lee, both of Marianna; two daughters, Tena Dilks of Colt and Terry Broussard of Lake Charles, La.; two brothers, Ivan Joe Lee of Heber Springs and Rodger Lee of Peoria, Ill.; four sisters, Betty Sue Davis of Heber Springs, Linda Lee of Nashville, Tenn., Pat Norman and Bonnie Graham, both of Peoria; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16 at Roller-Citizens Chapel with Rev. Rodger Hooker officiating. Burial was in Marianna Memorial Park.

Monica Tennie
Monica Patrice Tennie, 39, of Haynes, died Wednesday, Oct. 10.
She is survived by three children, Markesha, Nikki and Carrington, all of Haynes; her mother and father, Albert and Alberta Garrett of Haynes; one sister, Cynthia Lewellen of Haynes; and one brother, Michael Garrett of Little Rock.
Services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15 at Spring Grove M.B. Church in Haynes with Rev. Cedric Coleman officiating. Burial was in Casteel Cemetery in Forrest City.

Clarence Glaspie
Funeral services for Clarence K. Glaspie, 50, of Chicogo, formerly of Haynes, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13 at the Union M.B. Church in Haynes. Burial was in Clayhill Cemetery in Haynes with Rev. O.B. Brown officiating.

Morris Buckingham
Morris C. Buckingham, 83, died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2002 at the V.A. Medical Center in Memphis.
He was a farmer and a World War I veteran.
He is survived by two brothers, Alfred Louis Buckingham of Cleveland, Ohio and Leo Buckingham of St. Louis, Mo.; and three sisters, Olar Mae Ellington of Marianna, Daisy Mae Kimbrough of St. Louis, Mo. and Maranda Mae Charles of Pine Bluff.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12 at St. Luke Baptist Church with Rev. S. Brown officiating. Burial was in Thompson Chapel Cemetery.

Katherine McKenzie
Katherine McKenzie, 67, of Hot Springs, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2002 at Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa, Okla.
She was born in Aubrey.
Survivors include her husband, Darnell McKenzie; two sons, Larry Darnell Mckenzie and Reggie McKenzie; two brothers, Robert Stephens of Flint Mich. and James Stephens of Detroit, Mich.; eight sisters, Margie Taylor and Ethel B. of Hot Springs, Kennetta Miller, Ruthie Dell Hill and Loretta Eason of Flint, Mich., Lillie Mae Wimbley of Little Rock, Maxcine Davis of Detroit, and Doris Little of Chicago.
Services were held at 12 noon on Tuesday, Jan. 22 at Antioch M.B. Church of Aubrey with Rev. Hal Johnson officiating. Burial was in Antioch Cemetery.

Olter Patrick
Olter Lee Jackson, 87, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2002 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Booker T. Bonner and her second husband, Walter Patrick.
She is survived by a step-daughter, Jessie M. Harrison; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26 at New Hope M.B. Church in Moro with Rev. Spencer Brown officiating. Burial was in New Hope Cemetery in Moro.

Herman Neal
Herman E. Neal, 59, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2002 at Baptist Hospital East in Memphis.
He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Gospel Wonder Singers.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Floyd and David, as well as his parents, Jessie and Dora Neal.
Survivors include his long-time companion, Bobbie; seven children, Carlos Jerome, Herman Marquis, Rhonda Shunta, Monica Terssa, Carolyn, Stan and Tony; two sisters, Jessie Mae Williams of Minneapolis, Minn. and Wanda Verlena Neal of Pine Bluff; 20 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26 at Springfield M.B. Church in Moro with Rev. A.J. Franks Jr. officiating. Burial was in Pilgrim Cemetery.

Iva Turley
Iva A. Turley, 79. of Moro, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2002.
He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion in Marianna. He was a carpenter.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Turley; one son, Larry G. Turley of Searcy; two daughters, Linda E. Jones of Forrest City and Shirley K. Fowler of Moro; one brother, Gaylon Turley of Cabot; one sister, Edna Burns of Moro; six grandchildren, one step-grandson, three great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30 at Fowler Funeral Home in Brinkley. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31 at Moro Baptist Church with Bro. Bill Elliott officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery at Moro.
