The funeral will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Mitchell Funeral Home in Paragould with Larry Kennedy officiating. Burial will be at Warren's Chapel Cemetery.

Ira Edward Gage 
Ira Edward Gage, 87, of Paragould died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2000, at Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould. 
The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday at Heath Funeral Home in Paragould with the Rev. Bill Snow officiating. Burial will be at Pine Knot Cemetery in Paragould. 
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 this evening at the funeral home. 

Claudie Cleo Walker 
Claudie Cleo Walker, 66, of Gainesville died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2000, at his residence. 
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. today at Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Billy Joe Dowdy officiating. 

Heath Alan Clifton 
Heath Alan Clifton, 29, of Paragould died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2000, at Arkansas Methodist Hospital. 
He was born July 7, 1970, in St. Louis, Mo. He was a member of East Side Holly Island Baptist Church in Rector and was employed by L.A. Darling Company. 
Survivors include his wife, Robin Clifton of the home; a daughter, Taylor Clifton of the home; his parents, Freddy and Shirley Clifton of Rector; a brother, Ross Clifton of St. Louis; his wife's parents, Freddy and Belva Herren of Lafe; and four nieces, Tia, Teagan, Jessica and Melissa. 
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at East Side Holly Island Baptist Church in Rector with Charles Carrens officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector. 
Pallbearers will be D.D. Nichols, Chris Sorrentino, Todd Dearing, Jeff Hyde, Bryan Lynch and Bobby Bickford. 
Honorary pallbearers will be Ross Clifton, Kevin French, Bo Gamblin, Dale Parrish and Chad Goodman.

Willard G. Davenport 
Willard Garnet Davenport, 78, of Brookland died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro. 
He was born Nov. 24, 1921, in Goobertown. He was a lifelong resident of the Goobertown area. He retired from Crain Co. and was a World War II Air Force veteran. He served as a deacon at New Antioch Baptist Church, where he was a member. 
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eula; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R.D. Davenport; a grandson, Dale Burleson; three sisters, Lennie Robinson, Minnie Adams and Marcella Davenport; and two brothers, Earl Davenport and Curtis Davenport. 
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Gardner of Goobertown; two brothers, Robert Davenport of Glenn Mills, Pa., and Ray Davenport of Paragould; a grandchild, Tina Woodward of Goobertown; an aunt, Conola Davenport of Anniston, Ala., and a niece Wava Hollis of Paragould. 
The funeral was Tuesday at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home in Jonesboro with James Wells officiating. Burial was in Pine Log Cemetery. 
Pallbearers were J.R. Cole, Fred Swindle, J.D. Yates, Wayne Davenport, Wayne Downs and Jim Johnston. 
Honorary pallbearers were Jay Robinson, Joe Robinson, John Robinson, Raymond Robinson, Cecil Foust, Sean Gardner and Vernon Gardner.

Russell Glennon Pruett 
Russell Glennon Pruett, 71, of Paragould died Tuesday, Feb. 29, 2000, at Regional Medical Center of NEA in Jonesboro. 
He was born Dec. 2, 1928, in Senath, Mo. He retired from Foremost Dairy and was a member of Grace United General Baptist Church. He served in the Navy and was a veteran of the Korea Conflict. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jess Young and Geneva Ragsdale Shrum. 
Survivors include his wife, Betty Jean Pruett of Paragould; two sons, Danny Ford of Rector and Larry Pruett of Paragould; a daughter, Beverly Wells of Paragould; two sisters, Sally Jurek of Saginaw, Mich., and Toni McDaniel of Kennett, Mo.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. 
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at heath Funeral Home in Paragould with the Rev. Rick Stevenson officiating. Burial will be in Cardwell Cemetery in Cardwell, Mo. 
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at the funeral home. 
The family requests that memorials be made to Children's Homes of Paragould. 

Nicholas Rice 
Nicholas Rice, 22, of Corning died Monday, Feb. 28, 2000, at Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock. 
He was born Feb. 24, 1978, in Poplar Bluff, Mo.f 
Survivors include his parents, Shirley and Owen Rice of Corning; a sister, Michelle Nicholson of Biggers; and a niece, Kendra Rice of Biggers. 
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ermert Funeral Home in Corning with Blue Hothouse officiating. Burial will be in Corning Cemetery.

Lt. Col. Bonnie Johnson, U.S. Army Retired 
Lt. Col. Bonnie Johnson, U.S. Army Retired, 68, of Paragould died Wednesday, May 10, 2000, at Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould. 
She was born March 1, 1932, in Paragould. She was a retired Lieutenant Colonel with the U.S. Army, having served in Japan and Turkey. She was also a nurse practitioner and a Catholic. 
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Selma Johnson. 
Survivors include three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Willodean and Kermit Mandrell, and Ann and Duane Campbell, all of Paragould and Alyene Case of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two nephews, Phillip Case of Colorado Springs and Bill Mandrell of Fayetteville; and two nieces, Kim Hatley of Tulsa, Okla, and Kathy VanLaningham of Fayetteville. 
A graveside service, with full military honors, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Linwood Cemetery with an Army Chaplain officiating. 
Pallbearers will be the Military Honor Guard. 
No public visitation is scheduled. 
The funeral procession will leave Mitchell Funeral Home in Paragould at 1:50 p.m. Friday. 

Eva Mae Philhours 
Eva Mae Philhours, 80, of Jonesboro, formerly of Leachville died Wednesday, May 10, 2000, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro. 
She was born in Hornersville, Mo., She was a member of Nettleton Baptist Church. 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willis Philhours. 
Survivors include two sons, Jimmy Philhours of Jonesboro and Ricky Philhours of Leachville; three daughters, Joyce Brown of Leachville and Myrna Gayle Newman and Hattie Faye Pittman, both of Memphis, Tenn.; a brother, Marlon Wicker of Flint, Mich.; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. 
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Leachville Second Baptist Church with the Rev. Duane Smith officiating. Burial will be at Leachville Cemetery.

Elvie "Jack" Rippy, 78, of Paragould died Wednesday, May 10, 2000, in Morganfield, Ky. 
He was born Sept. 3, 1921, in Greene County. He was retired from Emerson Electric Company and was a member of Marmaduke Church of Christ. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Nettie Rippy. 
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Bruce Wayne and Debbie Rippy of Morganfield; two daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah Elwina and Larry Massey of Troy, Ill., and Gloranna Faye and Hollas Reynolds of Metropolis, Ill.; a brother, Gene Rippy of Marmaduke; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. 
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Mitchell Funeral Home in Paragould. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Billy Martin Kinnett 
Billy Martin Kinnett, 28, of Bufford, Ga., formerly of Bay died Tuesday, June 6, 2000, at Atlanta Medical Center in Atlanta, Ga. 
He was born June 25, 1971, in Jonesboro. He was a roofer and of the Baptist faith. 
He was preceded in death by his father, Jackie Martin Kinnett. 
Survivors include his fiancee, Soundra Nichole Scott of Bufford; two sons, Chandler Martin Kinnett and Robby Lee Kinnett, both of Bufford; his mother and stepfather, Mary and Tommy Straub of Auburn, Ga.; one aunt; and two uncles. 
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann with the Revs. Bobby Kinnett and Leon Minick officiating. Burial will be at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Javan Mangrum 
Javan Mangrum, 65, of Paragould died Thursday, June 8, 2000, at Regional Medical Center of NEA in Jonesboro. 
She was born March 22, 1935, in Paragould. She was a deputy clerk for Greene County and member of Rosewood Baptist Church. 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Mangrum; her parents, J.D. and Vera Taylor Hughes; and a grandfather, J.H. Hughes. 
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Danny Mangrum of Paragould and Doug and Toni Mangrum of Wilmington, N.C.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Shane Roofe of Rector and Marsha and Dan Lovelady of Dover; a sister, Marilyn Laffoon of Hattiesburg, Miss.; and seven grandchildren, David Hendrix, Merisha Mangrum, Mandy Mangrum, Brett Mangrum, Paul Lovelady, Taylor Lovelady and Alex Roofe.

Ronald Keith Rooker 
Ronald Keith Rooker, 45, of Bradley, Ill., died Wednesday, June 7, 2000, in Bradley. 
He was an iron worker, avid horseman and member of Local 465. He lived in the O'Kean area for many years before moving to Bradley. 
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bill Like and Mr. and Mrs. E.R. Rooker; and a granddaughter, Rachel Rooker. 
Survivors include his wife, Janet Menz Rooker of the home; a daughter, Natasha Glenn of Rector; a stepdaughter, April Menz of Bourbonnais, Ill.; two stepsons, Joseph Beck III and Leo Beck, both of Bradley; his parents, E.W. and Ann Rooker of O'Kean; a sister, Sharon Parten of Paragould; and two brothers, Gary Rooker of O'Kean and Don Rooker of Gulf Port, Miss.

Gladys L. Winchester 
Gladys L. Winchester, 78, of Bay, formerly of Piggott died Thursday, June 8, 2000, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro. 
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Irby Funeral Home in Rector with Roy Brady officiating. 
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. 

Paul C. Cockrum 
Paul C. Cockrum, 74, of Paragould, died Monday, June 19, 2000, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro. 
He was born in Lake City and lived in Paragould for 25 years. He also lived in Monette and was retired from the G.E. plant. 
Mr. Cockrum served in the Army, Navy and Air Force, was a member of the VFW and was of the Baptist faith. 
Survivors include his wife, Helen Cockrum of the home; a step-daughter, Laura Caples of Jonesboro; three sisters, Lois Osborn of Jonesboro, Gigi Apkarian of Dinuba, Calif., and Winnie Sanders of Livermore, Calif.; one grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. 
Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Philadelphia Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Dale Huskey officiating. 
Visitation will be tonight from 5 to 7 at Gregg Funeral Home in Jonesboro.

Norman Harvey 
Norman Harvey, 68, of Gray Summit, Mo., died at his home Saturday, June 17, 2000. 
He was born March 9, 1932, in the Dixie community and was a retired mechanic from the Absorbent factory in Valley Park, Mo. 
He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 281 in Fenton, Mo. 
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Harvey; two daughters, Thressa Homm of Osage Beach, Mo., and Nancy Harvey of Eldon, Mo.; three sons, Keith Harvey of Pacific, Mo., Jerry Harvey of Mt. Grove, Mo., and Randy Harvey of Fenton; four sisters, Lillian Good of Mt. Grove, Mo., Helen Cox and Wava Fletcher of Paragould and Linda McNatt of Brookland; three brothers, Arthur Harvey of Paragould, Roy Harvey of Dixie and Eugene Harvey of St. Louis; and eight grandchildren.

Justin Allen Hudson, newborn, of Corning died Thursday, June 15, 2000, at Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould. 
Survivors include his parents, Steven and Tanya Hudson; two brothers, Skylar Lee Hudson and Shane Allen Hudson; and grandparents, Luther and Verna Hudson and Cherica and Terry Wooldridge, all of Corning.

Larry Eugene Leach 
Larry Eugene Leach, 48, of Corning died Sunday, June 18, 2000, at Randolph County Medical Center in Pocahontas. 
He was born Dec. 29, 1951, in Corning. He was an expeditor in the stockroom at Basler Electric. 
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Leach of Corning; a son, Chris Leach of Success; a daughter, Tammy Green of Success; his mother, Velma Stubblefield of Corning; a brother, Bill Leach and a sister, Debbie Purdom, both of Corning; four grandchildren; one step-grandchild and a sister-in-law, Sue Leach.

Lucille Jane McDonald 
Lucille Jane McDonald, 88, of Kennett, formerly of Paragould, died Sunday, June 18, 2000, at Heritage Nursing Center in Kennett. 
She was born May 18, 1912, in Paragould, was a homemaker and a member of Union Central Church of Christ. 
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Yvonne McDonald of Kennett; a daughter and son-in-law, Carletta and Leonard Boggs of Kennett; one sister, Edna Mariott of Bakersfield, Calif.; five grandchildren, Brian and Lisa McDonald of Kennett, Tabitha Hyde of Kennett, Danny Boggs of Flat Rock, N.C., and David Boggs of Portland, Ore.; and four great-grandchildren, Jeremy Hyde of Kennett, Caleb and Elijah Boggs of Flat Rock and Asa Boggs of Portland.

Margaret Mae Messner Okle 
Margaret Mae Messner Okle, 79, of Pine Bluff died Monday, June 19, 2000, at her home. 
She was born May 5, 1921, in Detroit, Mich., was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Pine Bluff. She was also a member of the Locomotive Firemen and Engineers Auxiliary, and a member of the Pine Bluff Canasta Club since the late 1940s. 
Survivors include her husband, Charles Okle of Pine Bluff; a son, Charles Okle, Jr., of Pine Bluff and one granddaughter, Stephanie Shaw of Hot Springs. 
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 21 at Ralph Robinson & Son Chapel in Pine Bluff with Rev. Gordon Topping and Dr. John McClanahan officiating. 
Burial will be held at Graceland Cemetery.

Marilyn Joyce Rasch 
Marilyn Joyce Rasch, 64, of Dyersburg, Tenn., formerly of Paragould, died Saturday, June 17, 2000, at Methodist Hospital in Dyersburg. 
She was a retired Registered Nurse, having served for 24 years at Methodist Hospital in Dyersburg. 
She was preceded in death by her father, Harold E. Hicks. 
Survivors include her mother, Priscilla Green Hicks of Dyersburg; her husband, Emmett Rasch, Jr. of Dyersburg; a daughter, Cindy Jo Hill of Finley, Tenn.; two sons, Mike Rasch of Vicksburg, Miss., and Steve Rasch of Tulsa, Okla.; a brother, Kenneth H. Hicks of Rockaway Beach, Ore.; and five grandchildren. 
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Dyersburg Funeral Home with Dr. Mike Campbell officiating. 
Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg.

Elvis Franklin Campbell
Elvis Franklin Campbell, 87, of Paragould died Saturday, April 14, 2001, at Paragould Nursing Center.
He was born Dec. 14, 1913, in Greene County. He was retired from Missouri Pacific Railroad and was a World War II Army veteran. He was also a member of the First Church of God.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Franklin and Jane Bell Lacewell Campbell; his first wife, Gladys Ann Campbell; and his second wife, Ola Mae Cook Campbell.
Survivors include a son, Gary Campbell of Corona, Calif.; four stepsons, Howard Cook Jr., Russell Cook, and David Cook, all of Jonesboro and Robert J. Cook of California; a stepdaughter, Kay Gibson of Jonesboro; a granddaughter, Tammy K. Higgins of Westminster, Calif.; and three great-grandchildren, Brittney, Kendel and Madelyn.
A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Wood's Chapel Cemetery with Kenny Crafton officiating. 
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 this evening at Mitchell Funeral Home in Paragould.

Virginia Katherine Carner
Virginia Katherine Carner, 80, of Paragould died Thursday, April 12, 2001, at Greene Acres Nursing Home in Paragould. 
She was born Dec. 26, 1920, in Dell. She was a longtime resident of the Blytheville area. She was a homemaker and a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church at Half Moon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Porter and Willie Eva French Smith; her husband, H.M. Carner; and one brother.
Survivors include two sons, Phill Carner and Eddie Carner, both of Paragould; two daughters, Jean Underwood of Marmaduke and Ellen Self of Huntsville, Ala.; a sister, Marie Travis of Lewisburg, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held Tuesday at Cobb Funeral Home in Blytheville with the Rev. Kim Bridges officiating. Burial was at the Elmwood Cemetery. 

David Neal Shelton
David Neal Shelton, 37, of Rector died Monday, April 16, 2001, at his residence.
He was born Dec. 28, 1963, in Kennett, Mo. He was All State in his freshman year of high school for second base and also lead batter. He received a scholarship to Arkansas State University to play baseball. He coached softball and baseball, and played baseball, football, golf and basketball. He was a sanitation engineer for Shelton Sanitation and was a member of Ninth and Hafford Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Ray Robinson; his maternal grandparents, Von and Jeanetta Keller; his paternal grandfather, Earl Gotthardt; a brother-in-law, Kevin Ray Robinson; and several uncles and aunts.
Survivors include his wife, Michelle (Robinson) Shelton of the home; his parents, Dewey and Betty (Keller) Shelton of Rector; two daughters, Brittany Danielle and Lindsey Nicole Shelton, both of the home; his mother-in-law, Earline Robinson of Jonesboro; his grandmother, Jewell Gotthardt of Piggott; one brother and sister-in-law, Alan and Valerie Shelton of Paragould; one sister-in-law, Lisa Scott of Jonesboro; two nephews, Stephen Scott and Matthew Shelton; a niece, Haley Shelton; and numerous aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends.

She was born Feb. 11, 1955, in Rosiclare, Ill. She was a homemaker and member of Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Rufus Garvin; her mother, Martha Warren Garvin Newsom; a sister, Judy Lee Garvin; and two infant brothers.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry L. Spencer of Paragould; a son, Jerry Wayne Smith of Paragould; two daughters, Tammy Lynn Smith of Trumann and Christina Dawn Smith of Jonesboro; two stepsons, Kerry Spencer and Robbie Spencer, both of Paragould; two stepdaughters, Tes Loften and Nina Spencer, both of Paragould; a brother, Joseph Allen Newsom of Bryant; two sisters, Janet Elaine Arant of Paragould and Corrine Ann Belt of Sheridan; two grandchildren; and seven stepgrandchildren.

John "Hamp" Thurman, 85, of Paragould died Tuesday, April 17, 2001, at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
He was born Sept. 16, 1915, in Gainesville. He was the author of his own biography, "Walking With Jesus." He was a retired farmer and World War II Army veteran serving in the South Pacific. He was also a member of First Assembly of God.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie J. and Alice Elizabeth Cole Thurman; a sister, Lila Belle Nunally; and a brother, Robert W. Thurman.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Thurman of Paragould; a son, Dr. David Thurman, O.D of Hanover, Penn.; a daughter, Pam Thurman of Paragould; a granddaughter, Heather Thurman of Hanover; a grandson, Michael Thurman of Colorado Springs, Colo.; four nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Heath Funeral Home in Paragould with the Rev. Mark Smith officiating. Burial will be at Greene County Memorial Gardens in Paragould.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 this evening at the funeral home.
